Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Everyone welcome, new and old

keep I've been thinking the same.

I've lost 17 lb since October and I'm aiming to lose another 5 by Easter. That will bring me to my pre-menopause weight. I wasnt happy with it then but i will be now!

I think maintaining it will be a bigger challenge than losing it. I've lost it by giving up sugary snacks and logging on mfp, and by reading /posting on this thread. I'm worried all my bad habits will creep back in if I stop doing that.

Maybe we should have a maintenance thread on here?

Ofthread · 18/02/2018 11:41

I've weighed in at 10 stone 4, that's 3 pounds down from last Sunday!

Hairspray Flowers

Keepon, if you've been having a bad time emotionally and with food over the last year, then the fact that you've maintained is a huge success.

When I get my weight down to where I feel better I'm planning to just keep tracking weight. Sounds stupid, but I don't normally weigh myself and that's when the weight is creeping on. I might also keep having one tracked calorie day per week, or do a fast day once per week.

Not2bObvious · 18/02/2018 11:43

Reverse dieting is required when you get to goal, have a search for it.
TheDonald, that’s so brilliant, well done you! With only 5lb to go, I’d be looking at reverse dieting thoughts now, especially if you’d been cutting calories very low.

Mimosa1 · 18/02/2018 18:02

Hi everyone,
Do people on this thread have a regular weekly weigh in or is it monthly? If it's weekly, what's the day most people have chosen? New joiner trying to be not too obsessed with daily weighing!
Thanks.

TheDonald · 18/02/2018 19:50

Hi mimosa

I weigh myself most days but I only log it / post it on here on Saturdays.

I think weekly weigh ins suit me because they iron out minor wobbles. I chose Saturday mainly because I'm usually at home for longer so I am more likely to remember.

There's a new thing on here for logging averages which sounds good but I haven't tried it.

Hoolahoophop · 18/02/2018 20:29

I think I've eaten over 6000 calories over this weekend. Shock I'll get back on it tomorrow, but wow. At sub 5ft I really need to stick to 1200 to loose anything when I'm not exercising. Though in get a bonus 200 at the moment as I'm breastfeeding. I've run around a bit over the weekend but I think I'm still over by a couple of thousand calories in total. Bah.

Ofthread · 18/02/2018 20:29

I am weighing in on Sundays.

I thought I had killed the thread earlier on with my three pound loss. Feel a bit guilty as others are really trying hard. Hope I don’t put anyone off.

twinkledag · 18/02/2018 21:02

I've had a golden day and went for a half hour run too Grin

Ofthread · 18/02/2018 22:11

Can anyone tell me what a Linda is?

ponygirlcurtis · 18/02/2018 22:40

Ofthread it was someone's autocorrect for lb that has stuck. 😊

Ofthread · 18/02/2018 22:54

Hahaha Grin

Feezles · 18/02/2018 23:03

Ofthread - not at all! I saw your post and was really pleased for you. Good job😀.

I'm a (new) averager, Mimosa. I weigh daily, but logging the average over the week both helps iron out the bumps and satisfies my insatiable need for detail! I had a good day today, so hoping for a flying start to the week tomorrowSmile.

Overall, I'm quite proud of myself this weekend, as I managed to enjoy myself with my family, went only just over a maintenance calorie intake and kept the shitty guilt fairy at bay in the process!

Ultrasound and possible saline treatment injection on my dodgy Achilles tomorrow - so hopefully one step closer to getting back to running. Yay!

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2018 05:56

Gosh sorry ofthread I decided I should hold off posting for a while as it seemed every second post was mine moaning or lecturing! Well done you, far from offputting, very encouraging.
Good luck this morning feezles, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a positive result. Itching to get back to health here, the drugs are taking a while to kick in. Off work today and v likely tomorrow, can’t sit up for any length of time. So freaking bored.

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2018 06:51

Ooh and I’m down a bit from Friday despite seeing gains Saturday & Sunday. That’s a very rare occurrence - just the little lift I needed😬

HairsprayBabe · 19/02/2018 07:13

Thank you all, Grandad is doing better, stable and more comfortable but still in the high dependancy ward. So slightly less panic, my grandma just looked so sad Sad

Dispite lots of wine and pasta on friday and 3 martinis on Saturday night I have a very rare weekend loss and am starting my birthday week on 9.12, first time in the 9s since December. Out for dinner tonight though so I might bugger that up!

1lb down! Woo hoo! A lovely little boost to start the weekSmile. I'm not getting carried away, because I know it is in part due to the very small dinner I ate last night, but it is still nice to see on a Monday morning.

Feel better soon, Not! And so please your GD is stable, Hair.

lastqueenofscotland · 19/02/2018 07:59

Had an ok but not perfect weekend Confused not sure it hasn't hindered the 3lbs off this weekend aim tho.
Did do 50000 steps yesterday mind. No wonder I slept well!

TheDonald · 19/02/2018 08:07

50000 Shock

How did you do that?

My record is 30000 and I went up Snowdon that day!

lastqueenofscotland · 19/02/2018 08:17

18 mile run and very long dog walk... which might have been why I was sooooo hungry. Blush

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2018 08:47

Janey last, that’s some stepping! No wonder you were hungry. Managed 7,000 yesterday pottering around the house - that was my major achievement 😬

Hoolahoophop · 19/02/2018 12:55

I got 12000 yesterday tak in NH dc1 out on her new bike. It was exhausting!
I'm aiming to stay under 1000 call today to try to undo the damage from the weekend. Up 3lb from Friday. Sad

Hoolahoophop · 19/02/2018 12:56

50000 is amazing!
Glad to hear good news about your grandad hair

Not2bObvious · 19/02/2018 13:46

It won’t be a true 3lb hoola, well unless you ate 15,000 calories and your body managed to turn it straight into weight. Don’t be too hard on yourself, eating to your normal deficit would be fine. Chances are 2 of the 3 will be gone by the morning and the last bit by Wednesday. If you eat too little you may binge.
Working to push through this dose, doing a few bits around the house, marching on the spot every hour to bump up the steps. Aiming to hit 10,000 today. Ideally I’d go for a walk but don’t feel up to going into the out

twinkledag · 19/02/2018 13:56

Well done ofthread on 3lbs down.
