I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

Atleast something came off Lurking, its a move in the right direction!
Last week i weighed in at 10st 5, and today im 10st 4!
Now to get the 4lbs off, so close to that 10st mark😁

lurkingfromhome · 19/03/2018 17:42

Yay, well done caggie. Yes, let's both try to shift 4lbs so that we get to our goals. I'll be delighted if I'm 10 stone 7 by mid-April. I'm not going out at all this week and have lots of nice healthy food in the house so there is no excuse.

IsabelleSE19 · 19/03/2018 20:24

Well done both! Bad week for me as I actually put weight on - slipping back into old bad habits last week. Much better behaved today so hopefully better things for the next weigh-in!

Starting weight: 12st 9lbs
Last week: 12st 0.25lbs
This week: 12st 0.75lbs

MaMisled · 19/03/2018 20:40

Forgive me but I've lost 4 st and feel evangelical about it! Feel free to scroll past!

I'm 5ft 1in and have gone from 12st 7lb to 8st 4lb. I'm 51 but have never felt stronger or healthier.

My advice:

Start now! Get excited! Fill your home with lean meat, eggs, oats, yoghurt, fruit and veg. Buy digital kitchen Scales and stick to normal suggested portion sizes on packaging.

Buy a fitbit and walk at least 10000 steps daily. Dance and March on the spot if necessary.

I've combined calorie counting with Slimming World food optimising strategy. I have 1500 cals a day. I have crisps, chocolate, cake, alcohol, ice cream.....in moderation.

Look at a Facebook page called PinchofNom.com for some amazing tips, recipes, treats and fixes. It's affiliated with Slimming world but you can still benefit without joining.

See it as a project, an adventure! Go for it, you could well surprise yourself!

Caggie09 · 19/03/2018 21:13

I love the pinch of nom facebook group! Even though im not following slimming world ive had some fab meals fron that page! Well done on your 4 stone lossGrin

Caggie09 · 22/03/2018 16:04

Bit annoyed with myself, im eating crap! Just had a huge chocolate muffin which seemed to have extra chocolate oozing out. I had a good weigh in and possibly ruined it. ArghhhAngry

IsabelleSE19 · 22/03/2018 19:58

These things happen - I bet there are loads of times when you've made really good choices too this week. I am babysitting for someone tonight and they've left me a pizza to eat… so that doesn't bode well for my next weigh in either!

lurkingfromhome · 23/03/2018 09:09

I've actually dropped 2lbs since Monday's weigh-in. No idea how, but I can predict I'll have put at least three-quarters of it back on by next Monday's weigh-in. This obsessive daily weighing does one no favours, that's for sure.

According to my own calculations I now only have 6 lbs to lose before I'm at target weight. However, all my weight is clinging persistently around my middle, so I need to have a think about how much further to go. It's really annoying when the weight melts off all the really unimportant bits of your body first, like your wrists and ears ...

IsabelleSE19 · 23/03/2018 17:31

That's still great lurking - nearly there! I had to stop obsessively weighing myself this week as I wasn't losing anything and it was getting a bit demotivating. Although it's hard to see the weekend being a fruitful time for losing any more…

I've basically given up crisps so it's very annoying that that doesn't magically make fat vanish immediately!

lurkingfromhome · 26/03/2018 08:02

Today's results

Started at: 11 st 11
Last week: 10 st 11
Today: 10 st 8.8
Target: 10 st 3
Next mini-goal: 10 st 7

A good week this time, although am now thinking not so much about target weight as about shifting the stubborn roll of fat from around my middle, argh. Went out for weekly treat meal last night, ordered quite badly and ended up with too much food that I didn't want to eat. Not sure what happened there! Will be going out for treat dinner again on Saturday and I think will possibly be eating the first piece of chocolate in three months, it being Easter and all ...

IsabelleSE19 · 26/03/2018 11:18

Well done lurking - fantastic week for you! I also had a decent week, even though I was dreading the scales this morning for some reason.

Starting weight: 12st 9lb
Last week: 12st 0.25 lb
This week: 11st 12.75 lb

Very very pleased to finally be under 12 stone again. Next minigoal for me is to get down to 11st 9lb - a stone weight loss from starting weight.

lurkingfromhome · 26/03/2018 11:34

That's brilliant, Isabelle - it's such a psychological boost to get into a lower stone, isn't it?

Caggie09 · 26/03/2018 16:55

Well done both!

Im still at 10st 4. Happy with that, seen as i ate like a pig most of the weekGrin

springmachine · 27/03/2018 09:34

I havnt updated for a while,
I am now doing a new diet (swapped from the Cambridge)
I'm now going the 4 hour body (aka Slow Carbing)
Last weigh in was 11st 10.
Hoping for a 2lb loss this week but I'm not too sure a move of diets will mess that up.
I'm certainly feeling a lot healthier and brighter this week.

I'm also fitting into all my old clothes.

I'm only 5ft 4 and have a 30'' waist which is the smallest I've been size wise for a long time, but last time I was this size I weighed a stone less, so not too sure where I'm hiding the extra 14lbs right now

Caggie09 · 30/03/2018 16:48

Total right off this week. Im just in the mood to eat. Ive eaten 3 bags of quavers today and i want eat more rubbish. Cant let it carry on. Ill refresh myself soonSad

lurkingfromhome · 02/04/2018 09:29

Poor you, caggie. It’s hard to get back on the wagon. Once Easter is out the way it should be easier.

Here are my Monday stats:

Started at: 11 stone 11
Last week: 10 stone 8.8
Today: 10 stone 8
Target: 10 stone 3

So not even a full pound lost this week but at least things are still headed in the right direction. Really want to lose one more pound this week to get me down to 10 and a half.

Gordonbennit · 02/04/2018 20:55

Please can I join - I just love eating I could eat and eat alllll day till I'm stuffed, sometimes I'm shoveling it in without even thinking about it. Eat when stressed/happy/sad/bored etc

Short of sewing my lips up il try the monday weigh in!!!

I weigh 11st 12lb.
Pre kids (3, aged 8,5&3) I weighed 9st 10ish
Target is...just anything!! I'm an eating machine!!

IsabelleSE19 · 03/04/2018 16:12

Well done on another loss lurking. My results this week (weighed today as was away over the weekend) reflect the fact that I displayed an almost comical lack of will power over Easter!

Starting weight: 12st 9lb
Last week: 11st 12.75lb
This week: 12st 0.5lb

Hopefully will be able to do better this week, although having the DC around all the time is driving me to junk food! Welcome Gordon - sounds like you and I have similar eat-for-any-excuse problem! Good luck for this week!

Caggie09 · 03/04/2018 16:52

Hello, i didnt have chance to weigh in yesterday, so here it is:

Was: 10st 4
Now: 10st 6

I need a serious kick up the bum! I dont want to gain and worried ill end up back to how i was if i dont bring it in. My old eating habits are trying to creep back inAngry

lurkingfromhome · 04/04/2018 17:27

Yes, Gordon, please do join us - we need some more people on this thread to help us along!

Oh dear, caggie, what can we do to help? It does feel like a tedious slog sometimes, this. Can you go back to basics and do a few days of super strict eating the way you did at the beginning and see if that resets you mentally somehow?

Easter is hard, that's for sure. I'm doing ok although was away for a work conference yesterday and ended up eating bloody cake twice. Am being very strict today.

IsabelleSE19 · 04/04/2018 19:44

We both had a bad week caggie! I'm finding it very hard with the school holidays - just trying to get through it really, and sometimes turning to the junk when I'm feeling stressed or bored.

Maybe try something new, like looking online for some different healthy recipes so that you're not just eating the same old things. I love the Hairy Bikers diet stuff, and their books are often going really cheap in WH Smiths or Sainsburys! Or could find and watch an inspirational TV programme - I used to love watching the Biggest Loser, although basically their recommendation was always to eat at Subway Hmm

Good luck anyway!

lurkingfromhome · 05/04/2018 07:41

Totally - I could not have done this without the Hairy Bikers books - I have all three of them and basically cook from them every night. Nothing about their recipes makes you feel like you're dieting.

I've put on half a pound since Monday but hoping it's mostly water. I think my weight loss is slowing to a crawl now, even if I am eating properly most of the time.

Caggie09 · 05/04/2018 19:01

Just reading how everyone else is getting on helps me loads Smile I have hit the reset button, and have a plan in my head of what to eat. Ill have a look a sone new things to cook though. Im going to busy at work for a few week now, so hoping it keeps my mind occupied.
Also hello, Gordon
Lurking, thats the bit that so annoying, when it slows down. Just dont do what i do amd go off the railsGrin

Gordonbennit · 05/04/2018 22:02

Hi all seems you've all been doing so well! Soo hard with Easter and all the temptation.....Perhaps I will invest in the hairy bikers book for some ideas.

I'm at the start of my story - find that if I get weighed then it's in my mind how much I weigh then I eat more in a sort of panicked state that I weigh too much it's just a visous circle really - this week ive had to buy some
Clothes another size larger, my arse is slowing spreading and I'm dreading the summer - why can't I just stop
Bloody eating crap food,

Well it's nearly Monday so if I have a really good effort these next few days perhaps I can shed a pound.

Good luck everyone!! Flowers xx

lurkingfromhome · 07/04/2018 13:05

I’ve dropped half a pound overnight but fear I’ve hit a plateau and will just put it on again. Need to do something to kick-start things a bit more but not sure what! Going out for weekly treat dinner tomorrow but other than that sticking quite rigidly to the plan so let’s see what Monday brings. Good luck all and talk to you then!
