I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

@lurkingfromhome

Tell me about it!
My ankles and calves are slimmer and my hands are no longer like sausages sticking out of a bun, but my arse and tummy is just the same 😭

lurkingfromhome · 22/02/2018 11:42

Grin Grin

I will weep buckets if I end up with scarily thin hands, wrists and feet but still look like a barrel on legs. That would be so unfair ...

caggie09 · 23/02/2018 18:11

Good evening! Hope everyone is well.
Eaten my 3 meals today and not cheated with any extra picking, ive logged everything. Omlette for breakfast, chicken sandwhich for lunch and scampi with some rice for dinner. Just had 2 custard creams, ive savoured every bite!
I feel like after todays good day i should of dropped a stone alreadyGrin

lurkingfromhome · 24/02/2018 21:56

It’s definitely true that the effort put in is very far from proportional to the weight lost. The number of times I’ve been gagging for a cake and not had one you’d think I should be 5 stone down by now. Grin

caggie09 · 26/02/2018 07:50

So true!!Grin

Last week when i restarted i was 10st 9
This morning 10st 8!
A pound down, very happy with that. Its kick started me and i want to leave the 10s! Also taking my picture everyday to compare in a months time.
Hope everyone else has a good weigh in.

IsabelleSE19 · 26/02/2018 07:58

Argh! Weigh-in day, and I thought I'd lost another measly quarter-pound, but looking back at last week, I actually haven't lost any at all! Angry

Starting weight: 12st 9lb
Last week: 12st 2.25lb
Today: 12st 2.25lb

I'm fasting two days a week, went on two 30-min runs last week… and nothing. After losing the grand total of half a pound in the two weeks before that. Seriously annoyed. Maybe the 5:2 isn't working for me any more Sad

Hope others are faring better on the scales!

lurkingfromhome · 26/02/2018 08:19

Gah. Not the best week for me either

15/01 11st 11 lb start weight
Last week: 11st 1 lb
Today: 11st 0.4 lb

The only good thing is that the day after weigh-in last week I put on a pound which hung around for a few days so at least that has gone and more. But only a rubbish 0.6 lbs down from last week and I REALLY wanted to get into the 10st something by the end of Feb.

Isabelle that sounds really annoying. Are you calorie-counting on your non fast days or just trying to eat fairly sensibly?

I haven't been calorie-counting at all, just following a regime of no sweet things, very few carbs and a strict eye on portion size. I wonder if I need to go at it a bit more rigidly and start using MFP again. I'll give it another week and see how things look next Monday.

Well done caggie and good luck everyone else!

DailyMailareDicks · 26/02/2018 08:46

Morning! I weighed in yesterday as I was planning a very indulgent afternoon tea.
Starting weight 94.2kg
Last week 90.2kg
Yesterday 89.2kg

I'm a total of 11lbs down, but still too scared/embarrassed/ashamed to weigh in Stones. Kg is my safety blanket as there are no triggering numbers to get below or to have been over.

Good luck to everyone else!

IsabelleSE19 · 26/02/2018 10:12

lurking I haven't been calorie-counting on non-fast days, as when I did the same diet about four years ago I didn't need to and still lost a good amount of weight. However, I think being slightly older and having one more child has made it so much harder to lose anything! But I would say I have been eating less/better than before on non-fast days as I just haven't felt like eating as much. With the exception of the weekend when I had chips both days Blush. Sorry your weigh-in was disappointing too.

Did anyone watch the Lose Weight Well programme on C4 a few weeks ago? I've been trying to remember the best looking diets from that - thinking I should try something else for a few weeks just to shift a bit faster. My friend started Slimfast last week - her weigh-in is tomorrow so I'm watching with interest!

lurkingfromhome · 26/02/2018 11:27

Actually, you've just reminded me that I tried the 5:2 diet a few years ago for a couple of months and lost barely anything at all and so gave up!

I think different things work for different people and even then your body changes over the years (I tell you, after 45 weight sticks to you with unbelievable stubbornness). Then there are also the legendary plateaus to deal with when nothing seems to work at all for weeks on end! It's a constant minefield of confusion...

DailyMail you're doing better than anyone else this week, it seems. That's a great result!

DailyMailareDicks · 26/02/2018 12:47

I read The Easy Way to Loose Weight after my DH ha e up alcohol with a book by the same author. I'm surprised by how different foods taste now and my favourite bread products do t do it for me any more.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 27/02/2018 07:51

Another 1lb down but I'm slowly losing interest/motivation as is the norm...I need a kick!!

lurkingfromhome · 27/02/2018 11:22

Heffalumps, consider yourself kicked Grin

Can you break it down into mini-goals to try to keep yourself motivated? I'm determined to get below 11 stone, then 10 stone 11 as that will mean I've lost a full stone, then 10 and a half, and so on until I reach target weight. Any good?

DailyMailareDicks · 27/02/2018 16:41

Yesterday I had no motivation whatsoever. I ate pasta for tea. DH has made it for him and DS. When I went to make my salad I saw the perfect portion left in the pan. And then it was gone! Grin

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 27/02/2018 17:57

lurking thank you Grin I’m now just in the 10’s and was really happy with that, it felt like a huge achievement but then I fell off the wagon with Chinese of Valentine’s and the junk has been slow,y creeping back in. I’ve come to a bit of a standstill and am now contemplating having a slice of the apple pie cooking....I know I shouldn’t but it’s freezing out and it’s pie...and hot...and sweet...

Stepping away from the pie Halo

lurkingfromhome · 28/02/2018 07:40

I think losing weight is a million times more difficult when there are non-dieters in the household, that's for sure. My DH is dieting too and is being quite hardcore about it (also we don't have children) so it's comparatively easy just to buy diet-friendly food and cook the same things for both of us every night. If I had to make apple pie but not eat it myself there would be tears, I tell you. Grin

caggie09 · 01/03/2018 12:23

Is it just me or is the snow making anyone else want to comfort eat? Had my lunch and would love to munch on snacky foods. For the most part i have been well behavedShock

IsabelleSE19 · 01/03/2018 12:28

caggie Not just you! Was supposed to be fasting today but pigged out on crisps because I was so cold and miserable. And crisps aren't even hot! Hmm I don't think I would have given up so easily but I haven't lost anything to speak of for weeks, even when I've been sticking to it, so I was a bit 'sod it!' about the whole thing. Full of guilt and crisps now of course…

caggie09 · 01/03/2018 12:36

I know the whole sod it feeling, even when ive stuck to it. Maybe you'll get a big drop soonish. Dont feel too guilty, im now part way through a terry chocolate orange easter eggBlush Its to moreish to put away!

lurkingfromhome · 01/03/2018 13:24

I think it's the cold. I was starving all day yesterday and I'm not losing weight this week at all really. I think my body is trying to hold onto all its fat reserves to keep me warm. Hoping for a sudden and dramatic drop in time for Monday.

DailyMailareDicks · 01/03/2018 13:47

I'm blaming the snow for the half loaf of fruit bread I've eaten! Blush

IsabelleSE19 · 01/03/2018 14:35

Just had a hot cross bun - my body is telling me to hang on to my blubber to get it through the cold snap!

iamlosingweight · 01/03/2018 17:31

Hello, I'm new...
Sorry I've missed weigh-in
But the big number is 11.9 (should be the other way round!)

I am looking for something I can stick with. Tried all sorts!!
New ones on me are...
Keto?
The Diet Groove?
Pioppi Diet?

Any thoughts?

Can't believe shops are full of hot cross buns already - well have been for days - they're even more dangerous than easter eggs.

lurkingfromhome · 02/03/2018 11:23

Hmmm, well honestly, I think the best thing is to keep it simple and just eat good healthy food, sensible portions, don't snack between meals, avoid sugary things and eat starchy carbs no more than once or twice a week. That seems to have the best chance of working indefinitely as it's a a proper way of eating that is sustainable over the long term.

caggie09 · 02/03/2018 17:26

The snow made me order a chinese!! Grin I cant wait for it either!! I am going to go to the gym tomorrow and plan to be extra healthy! Did have a cheeky weigh in and looks like ive lost 2lbs anyway. Hopefully stays down until Monday!
