I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

I'm really struggling today. Not with food but with body image. I'm 3 stone heavier than I want to be. When I look down, my belly is very rounded, exactly the same as when I was pregnant. I can't have any more kids and am almost there, coming to terms with it. But now I'm constantly reminded of pregnancy, hauling around this extra weight. It just makes me feel so sad for the babies that will never be. I need to get a grip and loose this weight.

ObiJuanKenobi · 11/02/2018 13:09

Weighing in early as I'm away for work for a week from tonight.

Up 2lbs this week but after last weeks huge loss after a horrible sickness bug I wasn’t expecting to keep it all off. Over all still very happy with 7lb loss in a month!

08/01 14st 0lbs start weight
15/01 13st 13lbs
22/01 13st 10.5lbs
29/01 13st 12.6lbs (period bloating)
05/02 13st 5lbs (after 4 days of sickness bug)
12/02 13st 7lbs

I hope you're all well and have a great weigh in day tomorrow !

lurkingfromhome · 11/02/2018 16:41

Obi that is an excellent result! Hope you’re feeling better now.

We went out for lovely Asian food last night for the weekly treat. Singapore noodles and chicken wings in spicy sauce were involved. However I kept portion size down, didn’t have breakfast today and went out for a bracing walk so hoping tomorrow’s weigh in will be ok.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. See you tomorrow for the weigh-in verdicts Smile

lurkingfromhome · 11/02/2018 16:45

And I’m sorry you’re struggling this week DailyMailareDicks. It sounds like you’re being very hard on yourself Sad. I think all we can ever do is just focus on being healthy, eating good food and making sure we treat our bodies well. The rest will come Flowers

Truthspkr · 11/02/2018 18:05

@pickledparsnip. One thing for you to remember when you' re a vegetarian or especially vegan (as this is rarely mentioned) is to be careful not to get your Omega 3 and Omega 6 ratios too out of whack as this can affect your ability to lose weight and of course more seriously your health. Hemp seed oil is one good source where the ratio is already pretty optimal, organic cold pressed if possible. Available in larger supermarkets, health food shops etc.
Glad to hear you' re feeling happier in yourself. You didn' t mention how the weight has crept on, are you eating cause you' re bored (easily done)?
Hopefully this advice will help some.

lurkingfromhome · 12/02/2018 07:35

Weigh-in day. Another good week with 2.2 lbs off for me. Clothes are definitely starting to feel a tiny bit looser.

15/01 11st 11lb start weight
22/01 11st 9lb
29/01 11st 7lb
05/02 11st 5.8lb
12/02 11st 3.6lb

Total weight lost: 7.4 lbs
Target weight 10st 3 or 4.
Mini-target 11 st 2 by the end of Feb.

In March I have a lot of birthdays, weekends away etc so I think the weight loss will slow down that month ...

Good luck everyone!

BarrysnotLyons · 12/02/2018 07:55

Height 5ft 4"
Starting weight 15th Jan 13st 3lb
Weight today 12st 5 1/2lb
Loss this week 4 1/2lb

Delighted after no loss last week due to period. Have injured a toe badly so can hopefully keep it up this week. Would love to be under 12st by March.

Well done all on your journeys.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 12/02/2018 10:42

A not wholly unexpected gain of 1/4lb this week, total loss is 8lb since Dec 28th so I’m still happy.

Half term week so no office temptations (Fat Thursday doughnuts) & hoping to lose some this week to get my mojo back! New Pilates dvd to try along with some HIIT sessions so here’s hoping.

Good luck everyone!

IsabelleSE19 · 12/02/2018 18:19

Slinking in for weigh-in day…

Starting weight: 12 st 9lb
Last week: 12 st 2.75 lb
This week: 12 st 2.5 lb
Total loss: 6.5 lb

A very underwhelming 0.25 lb loss! But still better than a gain I suppose.

Big well done to the losers - some good numbers from others this week!

ObiJuanKenobi · 12/02/2018 20:30

Well done everyone!!

mintyneb · 13/02/2018 13:40

Oops forgot to check in yesterday

Starting weight: 11st 3
Weight last week: 10st 5
Weight this week: 10st 6

Not at all surprised with the weight gain. I was away for the weekend and ended up eating too many mini flapjack bites. Back in control again this week so will hopefully make progress in the right direction.

Well done to everyone else. Some great losses there - even if they're less than a lb it's all going to count in the long run!

lurkingfromhome · 13/02/2018 14:01

Yup, every last bit counts as long as we're heading in the right direction. Hope you're having a better week than last, minty.

mintyneb · 13/02/2018 16:51

Going better so far thanks lurking but not looking forward to Friday. DD has an incurable chronic health condition which ironically requires her to have a high calorie high fat diet. Unfortunately being severely (think anaphylactic) allergic to milk and dairy products limits her diet and over the last couple of years she has fallen spectacularly down the bmi centile. The hospital have tested for a type of diabetes that can affect weight and whilst she hasn't got it yet they want her to start on a daily shot of insulin. We'll have to see the diabetes team on Friday to get everything kicked off. If the insulin doesn't help with the weight gain there are worse options to come.

But our life is a round of constant hospital visits - I've only recently finished treatment for a second bout of breast cancer (2 diagnoses in just under 2 years) so all par for the course.

Generally I can hold it together but every now and then (like now) it all gets a bit too much

lurkingfromhome · 13/02/2018 17:01

Oh you poor loves, the pair of you. But excellent that you've finished your treatment now. I absolutely stand in awe of you, minty for dealing with all of this AND embarking on a tiresome weight-loss plan instead of just self-medicating with cake. You sound pretty amazing all round.

mintyneb · 13/02/2018 17:14

Ah thanks lurking .It's the self medicating with cake that got me into this mess in the first place! I put on about 11/12 pounds through the first lot of treatment. Finally got myself in the right headspace to do something about it and managed to get down to 10st. Then I promptly got diagnosed again and put it all back on again and more!

This time I'm hoping to keep it all off Smile

IsabelleSE19 · 13/02/2018 17:19

Flowers Flowers for minty and her DD. Good luck at the hospital this week.

BarrysnotLyons · 13/02/2018 18:40

Wow Minty how brave are you and your daughter. Are really are an inspiration.

Pinkroseuk · 13/02/2018 21:38

Hi can I join in please?
5ft 4 and nearly 14 stone- I've always been on the heavier side and have heavy bones apparently!
Need to shift 40-50kg apparently to be considered for IVF- I have never been under 65kg since being 15/16 years old so this is going to be a real struggle!
I have been on a Strict diet since Christmas and upped the exercise but have stopped loosing weight - any ideas would be great as to how I can shift it?!
Thanks

wintermonster · 14/02/2018 07:47

@Pinkroseuk that's a huge amount of weight thy want you to drop. That can't be right surly?

That would be half your body weight!

I'm same height as you and also apparently have heavy bones and even at a size 10 weighed 10stone!

lurkingfromhome · 14/02/2018 09:03

Yes, pinkrose can that be right? That would be about 7 stone they want you to lose and weighing 7 stone at 5 ft 4 would be really on the very light side of healthy, especially if you have a big frame.

Pinkroseuk · 14/02/2018 09:37

Thanks @lurkingfromhome and @wintermonster.
I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm going to ask them again-
Seems an awful lot to me - they also said I wouldn't be eligible for IVF if I was too underweight either so don't want to go too far the other way!
I have quite. A big frame and even at my lowest weight struggles to get into anything less than Size 12 Jeans
Thanks

lurkingfromhome · 14/02/2018 09:45

I'm the same - I'm 5 ft 7 but I have the kind of frame that I really struggle to get below 10 st 3 and size 12. I have friends the same height who are 9st and size 10, but my body will just not do that!

Let us know what they say tomorrow and then come and join us with the Monday weigh-ins!

CharlieandLolaCat · 14/02/2018 10:08

Am I too late to join? 5' 11" and 14 stone. Should really be somewhere between 10st 7lbs and 11 st so at least 3 st to lose .... have lost a stone over the last 6 weeks or so, and am doing lots of running as well as watching my diet but drinking too much wine to lose weight at a decent rate Confused.

Am going on a big night out in 2 months and would like to lose 1st 7lbs by then ..... maybe achievable if I lose the booze .......

DailyMailareDicks · 14/02/2018 11:06

I think I missed my Monday weigh in. I'm down 1.6kg, over the moon!

Pinkrose - I had 2 rounds of IVF, my BMI was 24 at the time so no issues with qualifying for funding. I had previously been a size 24 and lost 7st, before we knew we'd need IVF.

I put on about 9lbs with the 1st round, it failed and I had to wait 3 months to try again. I worked really hard to lose those 9lbs and it was so hard. The 2nd round I put on 5 lbs and was 7lbs up in total when I fell pregnant with that attempt. Then I put on 3st of baby weight. Took me 18 months to loose it all but I did. Then I gained 3 st in 1 year due to changes in medication.

You can get approval for IVF if you have a BMI up to 27, but it's at heir discretion. They just want to make sure that your body can handle the additional baby weight when it comes! And IVF is more successful for women with lower BMI's. I know what you are going through, I really hope you can achieve this goal. Thanks

lurkingfromhome · 14/02/2018 11:59

Of course, do join us CharlieandLolaCat. We usually weigh in on Monday and report our results.

A stone in 6 weeks sounds brilliant so it doesn't sound like you need to lose any faster than that. I do kind of think that it slower it comes off the higher the chances that it will actually stay off ...

DailyMailareDicks, that's amazing! Well done!
