I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

Wow wintermonster that is amazing. Well done

PrimalLass · 31/01/2018 23:02

wintermonster that is brilliant.

lurkingfromhome · 01/02/2018 07:58

Yup, well done, wintermonster. Please share your tips!

Yesterday, I had:
B: berries, Greek yog, granola sprinkle, coffee.
L: a frittata thing that DH made. I suspect it was not as healthy as it looked so I only had a small slice with salad. Then a pear.
D: a diet-friendly fish pie I made, with filo instead of mash and very little butter. It was fine except half the filo was undercooked so will need to sort that out if I make it again. Sugar-snaps. A blood orange.

And the pesky extra 0.6 pounds won't go away. My weekly weight loss tends to happen in one go overnight rather than a tiny bit every couple of days so here's hoping for Monday.

I also bought another Hairy Dieters cookbook and it's really brilliant so will be cooking from that a lot next week.

Good luck for the rest of the week, everyone!

ObiJuanKenobi · 02/02/2018 09:33

Feeling good today! I've found walking with the pushchair more is a win win - the twins get lots of fresh air, we get out the house more, they can't fight with each other as easily in the pushchair and I'm definitely feeling lighter and tighter!!

Have a great weekend all.

BarrysnotLyons · 02/02/2018 12:02

Weighing scales is not being kind this week despite eating well. Hopefully just my period and recovering from an infection.
Trying to keep my motivation!
Sunny weather is helping!

PrimalLass · 02/02/2018 12:10

I find that ibuprofen bloats me. Could it be that too?

Now down 4lb from that start. Pretty shit for a month, but if I did that every month until the summer it would make a big difference.

lurkingfromhome · 02/02/2018 13:11

PrimalLass I don't think that's shit at all. If I lose 1 pound steadily every week I'll be really happy. That would be a couple of stone off by mid-summer.

You have to play the long game with this weight-loss lark, and also I keep reminding myself that it took at least a year to put this excess weight on so it should probably come off at about the same rate if I have any hope of keeping it off.

I seem to have lost the 0.6 pound I put on after the last weigh-in so if I can drop even half a pound by Monday that will be me having broken through the 11 and a half stone barrier. If not, though, at least I'll be down 4 pounds in the month.

Yesterday's food was:

B: Greek yoghurt, berrries etc
L: small slice veg frittata, big salad
D: Asian salmon thing from Hairy Dieters Book, smallish portion brown rice, a nectarine
Snacks: half a flapjack (out for tea and cake with friends and really could not say no)

I might be imagining it but I think my size 12 jeans which were previously cutting off my blood supply around my waist and arse are possibly feeling the tiniest bit looser.

PrimalLass · 02/02/2018 13:21

I know, I just wanted the usual woosh from starting dieting.

PrimalLass · 02/02/2018 13:22

But on the other hand, I'm now back to pre Christmas weight, whereas last year I just kept getting fatter until I freaked out at Easter and did hard core low carb.

lurkingfromhome · 02/02/2018 13:27

I've NEVER had a woosh, if that's any consolation. Keep reading about them happening to other people, mind you Grin.

BarrysnotLyons · 02/02/2018 13:49

Good to get the first few weeks out of the way and beat the sugar cravings!

lurkingfromhome · 02/02/2018 17:54

Tonight's dinner is definitely random scrapings from the fridge: a broccoli and leek soup I made yesterday, some multigrain bread and a tuna and chickpea salad. None of this hangs together as a proper dinner but tomorrow DH is making Tom Kerridge's diet-friendly lamb kebab so we should make up for it then.

I've had nothing all day except for breakfast and about 50 cups of green tea so don't really care what I eat tonight. Really hoping for a good weigh-in on Monday and will be going out for brunch on Sunday so a bit of restraint tonight won't hurt...

soupforbrains · 02/02/2018 23:37

Ugh I have eaten sooo badly today. But I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Have logged it on the app and tomorrow is a new day.

I never get the 'whoosh' at the very beginning of dieting. Usually my body is still working things out. But about 3-5 weeks in I often get a patch of more rapid weight loss. So maybe it's still to come primallass

ObiJuanKenobi · 03/02/2018 07:34

I have had the most awful sickness bug for the last 12 hours so thinking I might have lost a few lbs from that but I guess once I'm well enough to eat again that's the sort of weight loss that will quickly disappear!

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 03/02/2018 08:05

I weighed myself yesterday morning. And I'm down two pounds!

So now I'm 10 stone 6 pounds.

Feeling good.

I think apple cider vinegar really does help with stomach fat!

lurkingfromhome · 03/02/2018 09:43

Well don, Butterflies. Tell me more about apple cider vinegar, please.

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 03/02/2018 15:23

Thanks @lurkingfromhome

If you drink Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar... you can buy it from Holland and Barretts if you're in the UK for around £6.99 or from Amazon.

Take a tablespoon on empty stomach and drink some water afterwards. Or you can just dilute it in water and drink it. Drink it in the morning and before bed. It helps cleanse any toxins in your body and reduces bloating. Definitely helps the stomache. A lot of my fitness friends drink it too.

Hope that helps!

lurkingfromhome · 03/02/2018 18:02

That’s brilliant, thanks Butterflies. I’ve just ordered myself a bottle from Amazon so will see how I get on this week. I carry every ounce of weight around my middle so it’s got to be worth a try.

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 03/02/2018 18:10

Let me know how it goes :-)

BarrysnotLyons · 03/02/2018 18:29

Apple cider vinegar can erode teeth pretty quickly. Make sure to use a straw or follow with lots of water.
No brushing for 20-30mins after to allow saliva time to neutralise the acid.

DailyMailareDicks · 03/02/2018 18:33

Is it too late for me to join you? I need to lose 3 st, am in such denial that I weigh myself in kilos so that I don't really know how heavy I am! So my target is 20 kilos off by June for a villa holiday with in laws.

I have a few different injuries so can't exercise as such, so will be 95% diet and 5% muscle strengthening. Grin

ObiJuanKenobi · 03/02/2018 18:36

@DailyMailareDicks never too late - welcome aboard!! We do a weekly weigh in on a Monday Smile

lurkingfromhome · 03/02/2018 20:51

Welcome, Dicks! Good plan to weigh in kilos. Wish I’d tried that before the horrible truth in stones and pounds became evident 😄

Thanks for the vinegar tip Barrys. The last thing I need is to be flabby AND have no teeth 😄

ObiJuanKenobi · 04/02/2018 19:59

Weighing in early as very busy day at work tomorrow.

Down 7.6lbs this week but most of that has been down to a very bad stomach bug Friday-Sunday, so I’m not sure how much of that will stay off once I can stomach food again!! I weighed on Thursday and had lost 2.5lbs so the rest has been this weekend. Stats below.

08/01 14st 0lbs start weight
15/01 13st 13lbs
22/01 13st 10.5lbs
29/01 13st 12.6lbs (period bloating)
05/02 13st 5lbs

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 05/02/2018 07:35

Morning all, another loss this week.

Started at 11st 8lb on the 28th Dec after the latest loss 1.6lb I'm down to 10st 13.8lb. Starting to think I might actually do it this time.
