I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

Birthday not birth Grin

TalkinPeace · 21/01/2018 15:42

Obijuan
The bread will be around 125 a slice - plus whatever was spread on it
The eggs will be 80 each plus however much butter was stirred in
Mushrooms minimal, but what were they fried in
Spinach minimal so long as it was just steamed

but it was Brunch, and it was fun, and you just make sure that you do not snack at all during the rest of the day, have a sensible supper and all is good Smile

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/01/2018 15:42

I also had 2 peach Bellinis WinkWine

lurkingfromhome · 21/01/2018 16:45

I’m having a burger tonight as it’s our weekly treat meal (DH also losing weight). I can take or leave burgers but it’s his turn to choose and I’m happy to go along with it.

So far have had the usual breakfast of berries & Greek yoghurt & sprinkle of granola then for lunch a tuna, cannellini bean, celery and radish salad thing that DH made.

Treat Dinner will be a home-made burger with cheese and all the tomato, gherkin etc trimmings BUT no chips (I don’t really like chips so no great sacrifice) and only half a bun plus a mound of home-made slaw (made with yoghurt & a bit of soured cream not mayo).

TalkinPeace · 21/01/2018 16:48

That sounds like a WONDERFUL meal

We are having slow roast duck with a stack of veg and DS will demolish a load of saute potatoes
Brunch was the Sunday fry up (2 poached eggs, 2 slices black pudding, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes, small slice fried bread) and some OJ
only ever eat 2 meals a day

lurkingfromhome · 21/01/2018 16:56

I’m actually salivating at the very thought of it, I cannot lie 😀

Twistofanxiety · 21/01/2018 17:59

Can I join? I know I'm a bit late but weigh 11st 6lb. I was doing really well until last November but now seem to have put on 6lb. So frustrating as I was looking forward to being 10st something. Confession: I have had 4 squares of chocolate today. I really could do with the support.Smile

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/01/2018 18:03

@Twistofanxiety of course you can, the more the merrier!! We'll be having a weigh in tomorrow - I expect to be about 2 stone13 up from last weeks due to my faulty scales pretending I was 11 stone last week when in fact I'm 13st13 BlushHmm

caggie09 · 21/01/2018 18:11

I was on another thread but its dead now, im calorie counting and started back this month!

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/01/2018 18:12

Ooo @caggie09 how did you drop the initial 2stone? Any tips?

lurkingfromhome · 21/01/2018 18:30

caggie that’s amazing weight loss! Yes, please do share any tips!

I’m doing my official weekly weigh-in tomorrow although have been doing my usual thing of weighing myself obsessively every single day. Let’s hope no huge gains overnight...

chaplin1409 · 21/01/2018 18:39

Hi I need to join this thread. I am 5.6 wear a size 16 but weigh 15 stone. I think I am going to try calorie counting. I have done slimming world in the past so had thought about that option too. I just want to lose a stone to 2 stone to begin with.

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/01/2018 18:57

@lurkingfromhome you should be fine as long as you don't have any midnight feasts Grin

BarrysnotLyons · 21/01/2018 19:05

I'd like to join too please. Started last Monday. Horrified to find 13st 13lb on the scales. 5ft 4" tall.

blueskyinmarch · 21/01/2018 19:30

I have been away for the weekend with DH, visiting friends. I have eaten and drank so much. I will need to do some serious damage limitation over the next 4 days. This is why I weigh in on a Friday and not a Monday!

NancyJoan · 21/01/2018 20:03

I’ve been in London with a friend all weekend. Have basically necked carbs for 48 hours, occasionally swigging wine to mix things up. Tomorrow’s weigh in will be a howler.

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/01/2018 20:04

Nancy your weekend sounds heavenly!!

caggie09 · 21/01/2018 20:29

I dont feel i have great tips, i just stuck to calories. Sometimes i went off track, binged and wanted to give up. It takes time! I dont even do much exercise. You should measure yourself too, sometimes you wont have a big loss, but inches will fall off! I used to take daily pictures as you could see a difference when looking back. Im glad to be attempting again with other people, it really helps!

Tangoandcreditcards · 22/01/2018 06:34

That's actually really helpful caggie . It's sort of good to know it can be simple!

First official weigh in and I'm 3lb down.

Was: 12st 7
Now: 12st 4
Height: 5'8"

Just been sticking to 3 meals a day no sweet stuff. And cutting down bread at meal times a bit.

Nutellaonnutella · 22/01/2018 06:51

Wow well done Tangoandcreditcards!

Just one pound loss here:

Starting weight 11st 10

22/01: 11st 9

I need to really cut down on carbs and snacking this week.

lurkingfromhome · 22/01/2018 07:46

Well done tango and Nutella.

First official weigh-in and I'm 2lb down.

Was: 11st 11.
Now: 11st 9.
Target: 10st 4.

For me, it's the no snacking that has really helped. I'm eating three good meals a day but cutting carbs right down, although I've had the occasional slice of home-made wholemeal bread, the odd spoonful of brown rice and a plate of spaghetti once. And I've had dessert once. But trying to keep these to a minimum. And once I've had dinner I have a piece of fruit right afterwards and then that's it until the next day.

Going out for lunch again tomorrow though and so will have to choose carefully and plan a very light dinner. Argh. Would be so much easier if I just never went out!

Hope everyone else gets on well with the weigh-in!

mintyneb · 22/01/2018 07:48

Well done tango! And nutella you are going in the right direction Smile

1lb loss here for me too this week (8lb in total since new years day - but a lot of that went in the first week!)

So starting weight 11st 3, down to 10st 9.

As I predicted the carvery lunch with the in-laws yesterday was too tempting to resist and I even had pudding.... But a new working week dawns and i wont have the opportunity to snack so fingers crossed I'll burn it all off.

Good luck to everyone else for their weigh in today

mintyneb · 22/01/2018 07:49

X post lurking - well done! The no snacking is obviously working

Citrasun · 22/01/2018 07:53

So cross this morning, as I have managed to gain 5 lbs over the weekend! After dropping from 11.4 to 10.12 since the start of January, I have jumped back up to 11.3.

Admittedly I have had a bit of a blow out weekend, as we had 2 social things involving meals out and drinking, but I was being quite restrained. I also was very careful yesterday to even things out a bit, but it obviously wasn't enough. I'm sure a pound or two is just water retention or whatever, but it's completely disheartening.

I'm just about to take the dogs for a long walk & will be rigidly sticking to three small meals a day and nothing else this week to try and shift it again.

lurkingfromhome · 22/01/2018 08:07

So disheartening, Citrasun. I hate it when that happens.

Do you use the happy scale app? It averages out weight loss and takes all these random blips into account so that you can see that the trend is still going downwards. Might be worth looking into, if only to boost your morale.
