I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

I'm currently out of work, which is unusual for me. I'm self-employed but normally contracts back up against each other. It's just quiet right now and so I'm at home and just grazing all the bloody time. But at least I'm walking daily, doing Dry january and power yoga. That's a step in the right direction. Just not yet mustered the willpower to actually diet.

IsabelleSE19 · 18/01/2018 12:21

Thanks minty! Was actually lovely to get out and made me feel loads better. Feels a bit weird that I won't be eating for another 8 hours though! Might cheat a bit and have a lunchtime miso soup, other than that a Diet Coke should help me survive the afternoon! (Think the bubbles make me feel full!)

With the fasting days, I don't find that I get constantly hungry – it comes and goes. I am clockwatching all day though, thinking about how long I've done and how long until I can eat again! And it means I don't have to be really good every day, although I might have to rethink that depending on how the weight loss goes!

IsabelleSE19 · 18/01/2018 12:26

Hi ginger! I'm self-employed too - it's really feast or famine for me and I do find it hard to fit in exercise when I'm really busy. Although the flip side is I do less snacking I think, as I'm definitely a boredom eater.

Tangoandcreditcards · 18/01/2018 13:06

Thanks frog - maybe I'll check it out - I've done the first 10 days of Jillian Michaels' "30 Day Shred" about 10 times in the last 4 years. But only actually completed the thing once. It's super effective but I'm soooo bored of the first level, I don't think I can face starting it again. I'm out of the house 12 hours per day, so anything I can slot in at home before bed would be good!

Good to know talkin - If I can lose 5lbs in the first week then I'm happy with 1lb a week after that. I could be down to a 'not overweight' BMI in 6 or 7 weeks!

I have offered myself prizes:
If I get under 12 stone (-7lbs) - I'm allowed a new set of underwear

If I lose a stone: I've picked out a watch Grin

Blankscreen · 18/01/2018 13:41

I'm at work and there are cakes for in the kitchen for someone's birthday.

Been out in my lunch hour looking at clothes that I want to be able to wear and can't at the moment.

That has re motivated me!

Tonight's dinner is chicken fajitas bit layout 1 wrap out and pile chicken on top and eat with a knife and fork. No rice.

Saves loads of calories.

ObiJuanKenobi · 18/01/2018 14:40

Oh my goodness I'm at work today (estate agent) and I have an open day at a block of flats with no lift and the apartment is 6th floor!! I've been up and down 5 times so far Grin

mintyneb · 18/01/2018 16:55

Grin obi

lurkingfromhome · 18/01/2018 17:11

I'm about to make the chicken korma from the Hairy Bikers diet book so am hoping it will be utterly tasty and delicious.

Sadly it will be served with a tiny portion of brown rice, a carrot salad and some roasted kale (as opposed to the six poppadoms, mango chutney and giant naan bread that DH would dearly love). Never mind, it's curry, eh? Still nice, hopefully.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 18/01/2018 19:01

I have a confession....after 2 awful days at work I couldn’t be bothered to cook tonight so had KFC Blush and I ate the skin which is the best bit!

After a sneak peak n the scales yesterday I’d lost 2lbs since Monday, buggered that up now as I followed the KFC with 4 Quality Street as a chaser. Will be having home made veg soup for lunch Sat/Sun and fish/omelette for dinner to try and redress the balance.

ObiJuanKenobi · 18/01/2018 19:03

Oooooo KFC I think I've just dribbled a little sounds amazing!!!!!

Has anyone made the change from cooking oil to those little sprays? Fry-lite type things.. are they any good for roasting veg and frying eggs?

MissMary0fSweden · 18/01/2018 19:19

I have fry light in garlic, buttery and sunflower. I actually don't mind the taste, or the results, but it's supposed to not be very good your for your pans so I only use them on baking tray stuff/ roasting trays etc which are shamefully knackered anyway

MissMary0fSweden · 18/01/2018 19:24

Evening all

Not a bad day today- protein shake for breakfast, hummus spinach and pepper wrap for lunch and chicken salad for tea. Slightly marred by me discovering yet another box of bloody biscuits leftover from Xmas when I was rooting in the pantry and scarfing two but hey ho.

2.5l water and a spin session this evening. Go me! 🙌🏻

PrimalLass · 18/01/2018 21:53

Evening all. I'm starving and cold so might have a cup of mint tea then go to bed.

B: 2 x coffee and whole milk
L: Ham and cheese rollups and an apple
D: Steak salad with feta, greens, onions, tomatoes and dressing
S: Double cream + s/f choc sauce

Did a pilates class today.

This morning I was 3lb lower than at the weekend. Long may that continue.

This is a nice wee video on IF:

lurkingfromhome · 18/01/2018 22:34

I had a pretty good day today:

B: natural yoghurt, berries, teeny sprinkle of low-sugar granola, coffee with milk

L: a weird but nice salad thing DH made with tuna, cannellini beans, radish, celery, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice

D: Hairy Bikers’ diet-friendly chicken korma, spoonful brown rice, carrot salad

Snacks: a pear, lots of green tea, two tiny date & cashew protein treat things

Not weighing in until Monday but PLEASE GOD let me have shed a pound. Smile

ObiJuanKenobi · 18/01/2018 22:36

Ooooo lurking how was the hairy biker curry? Sounds great!

lurkingfromhome · 18/01/2018 23:21

It was surprisingly tasty. I tweaked the spices a bit but all in all it was just as tasty as the real deal. I think they said it was around 300 cals per portion so easy to add a bit of rice and/or some veg etc and still get a dinner for under 500 cals.

Every time I type the word cals it autocorrects to cake. How Freudian 😄😄

naughtycurly · 19/01/2018 07:46

I didn't have the best day yesterday.

There was a pizza in the fridge going out of date so I decided that I would freeze it. Read the packaging and it said not suitable for home freezing. I decided to cook it and the kids could eat it cold today. It came out of the oven and I ate it. All of it. This was at 8pm last night so I had already had my days food allowance.

Then I felt so bad about it that I ate two large bowls of coco pops.

Why did I do that. I'm so annoyed with myself

Today's another day right?

OP posts:
Blankscreen · 19/01/2018 07:52

Yep today's another day. No need to add to the bad eating from yesterday.

Draw a line and move on.

My down fall is also the children's dinner time. So hard to not eat virtually 2 dinners a night!

PrimalLass · 19/01/2018 08:29

naughtycurly Just move on and know next time to not put that temptation in your way. I'm like that with Haribo. Every year I buy halloween sweets knowing full well that I will have eaten them by the night and have to replace them. I cannot stop once I start.

IsabelleSE19 · 19/01/2018 09:15

Children's dinners are too tempting!

Love the Hairy Bikers stuff - I kept meaning to ask if anyone else has their books. I had their Italian meatballs for dinner last night with sweet potato mash and spinach on the side - didn't really feel at all diety!

Fast was yesterday so I'm off the hook today - my hot cross bun has just popped up from the toaster!

Tangoandcreditcards · 19/01/2018 09:58

I fell off the diet wagon last night too, naughty

Went out for dinner. Was definitely going to have sparkling water and a sensible meal. Instead had 3 courses, 5 beers. Definitely not getting on the scales this morning as will probably discover the early weight loss has gone. Going to be good until weigh-in on Mon.

I would LOVE a hot cross bun right now isabelle. But I don't think I'm capable of the fasting to earn it!

gingerclementine · 19/01/2018 10:06

Morning. I've finally made a start. A sensible breakfast: One slice of wholemeal toast thinly spread with reduced fat Lurpak, one poached egg, coffee and a Vit C tablet in water.

It's not low carb, but it's not over eating either, which is something.

blueskyinmarch · 19/01/2018 12:51

My weigh in day is Friday so i weighed in this morning. 1.5kg down (around 3lb). I am pleased with that.

Start: 82kg
18/01 80.5kg

I hope next week i am in the 70's!

Nutellaonnutella · 19/01/2018 12:58

Naughty it's so hard isn't it, once you fall off the wagon it tends to trigger lots more snacking because that day is already already, but as others have said just pick yourself up and start again tomorrow!

Just to share a lunch idea - I've just tried Sainsburys new Cauliflower and lentil burger, I put it in a wholemeal pitta with loads of salad, really yummy and filling and less than 300 calories!

Firstaidnovice · 19/01/2018 14:15

I'm struggling in the house today. I am considering going to have a shower, to give myself something to do, because I definitely can't eat in the shower. I'm saving up calories for Friday night wine, so feeling particularly hungry.
