I need your help, I have been an eating machine since the beginning of December. I am getting fatter and fatter by the day and am so miserable.

Today I put my brave head on and got on the scales. I weigh 11 stone 4.5lbs. I am not very tall so I am barrelesque and wobbly.

Things really have to change, honestly none of my clothes fit and I only have three dresses that I can currently fit into. My jeans do not fit and are so tight I can barely do them up let alone breathe.

Please join me in sorting my fat act out.

I didn't know that Les Mills thing existed. What is the monthly fee?

PrimalLass · 17/01/2018 12:02

Ignore me, I've found it. £9.95 is brilliant.

ObiJuanKenobi · 17/01/2018 12:05

It's okay, it's only spurred me on more!!

Jogel · 17/01/2018 14:02

I've been doing low-carb high-fat and it's been going well. Just fell off the wagon at lunchtime. Had lunch prepped, but left it at home. I'd fasted since dinner last night, so couldn't face waiting until dinner tonight. Went to the works canteen and got the most 'healthy' option available, which was still carby stodge. My stomach is wondering what's hit it, feel rotten not energised as I have been recently. Oh well, will get back on track tomorrow.

lurkingfromhome · 17/01/2018 15:43

It's hard, isn't it Jogel , when you're out and unexpected things happen. I can manage perfectly well at home and am very disciplined with meal plans. However, going out is always trickier. I am going out for lunch next week to celebrate a friend's birthday and am already pondering what the least-bad options might be. I guess that's real life eating, though, so it's good to get used to dealing with it and just factoring it into the week's eating and getting back on track the next day.

Jogel · 17/01/2018 15:49

lurking relax and enjoy having something nice for your friend's birthday! Like you say, straight back on track. I was annoyed at having not very nice food from the canteen which wasn't even enjoyable. Won't be forgetting my lunch again in a hurry.

Foghead · 17/01/2018 15:58

I’ve bought The Beck Diet solution after I saw it recommended elsewhere. I’ll report back after I’ve read it (and lost shitloads of weight Hmm)

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/01/2018 15:58

I have now been on a diet for 3 days.

It has consisted of 1 thing: not eating between meals. Much more hardcore than I realised. Especially after a month of "anything goes" over xmas.

I am now so hungry all day and positively livid by the time I get home after work.

I naughtily weighed myself today and I've somehow lost 5lbs since Monday (12st 7 to 12st 2) which surely isn't possible (although Mon WAS the first day of my period so was big n bloated), but I'm still pretty sure it won't still be gone by real weigh-in day on Monday, thought I'd post anyway to spur me on!

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/01/2018 15:59

onemorefrog Do you need "kit" for the Les Mills workouts?

pickledparsnip · 17/01/2018 16:16

Vegan spread is without a doubt disgusting Firstaidnovice.
I'm hoping the vegan thing will help with weighloss. It never has in the past, but that's because I've still snacked shitloads.

Had a bag of Twiglets today, under 100 calories. That was exciting!
How was your fish thing?

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 16:42

Hello , what a lovely friendly thread, and lots of small people needing to lose 2 stone ( I'm 5,3) !!

Please can I join/follow?

I weighed in last Monday at 11.3 which I am disgusted at, I was 8,6 about 3 years ago but I've had a crap time and struggled with comfort eating/wine drinking

I have a thread called Princessing 2018 on the go which is about trying to make yourself feel good whilst losing weight ( beauty/health/self care type stuff)

Firstaidnovice · 17/01/2018 16:50

pickledparsnip (I keep wanting to call you puzzledparsnip, as that's a character in an Oliver Jeffers book...), fish thing was, er, ok. At best. Only three tiny bits of fish, but loads of veg, tasted ok, and was cheap and very easy. I did end up having some malt loaf mid afternoon.
I am very much in awe of veganuary. Although maybe it's what I need to give up the demon butter

PrimalLass · 17/01/2018 17:30

I've tried to sort-of fast today, apart from a little double cream and s/f choc sauce mid afternoon (so not fasting at all then, but v v low carb at least). Starving now.

Pork fillet stir fry and cauli rice for dinner.

mintyneb · 17/01/2018 17:35

pickledparsnip I don't know if the Pure spreads are vegan but I actually really like the sunflower one! My DD is anaphylactic to milk and dairy products so we haven't had real butter in the house for years.

Interesting reading what everyone's vices are. I'm not generally a big snacker and we rarely have puddings at home but I am a comfort water and an opportunistic one at that! Leading up to Christmas folks were bringing cakes and mince pies into the office and I couldn't resist.

Feeling cross right now as I'm on a different bus back to the train station than I would usually get and I'm forfeiting nearly 2000 steps in doing so Sad. All so I can get some chicken for dinner before I get home!

mintyneb · 17/01/2018 17:35

Eater not water!

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 17:43

Sorry forgot to say I'm currently 10.13 so lost 4lb last week.

naughtycurly · 17/01/2018 18:37

Hi Yolanda, thanks for pointing me in the direction of your princessing thread. The last few days I have been making more of an effort with shaving, plucking, painting, body buttering, face masking etc I thought I may as well try and make myself feel a little better whilst losing the weight. It's so easy to let things slide, especially when you are busy. Just by body buttering for the last few days it has made a massive difference and it does make you feel good. I am rewarding myself with beauty products now instead of chocolate. I had a warming chocolate/orange face mask a couple of nights ago Grin

Well done on your weight loss.

Not done too badly today - MFP books me in at 1500ish cals and that's including the two squares of dark chocolate I'm having later (and the 8 little vegan sweets I had this afternoon...).

Pickledparsnip I'm doing veggie January (and am dairy and soya free for DS2). Have been enjoying it so far! For dinner we just had chickpea and broccoli curry, which I made with some curry paste, coconut milk and some ground almonds to thicken it. Not too calorific either as I used low fat coconut milk and made sure I weighed the almonds!

Blankscreen · 17/01/2018 18:46

Me too. I'm 5 foot 6 and on 2nd January I was 11 13.
I want to be 9 stone 10.

Not quite sure how I've got this big.

.down to 11 7 now. I'm doing my fitness pal.amd being very strict.

Aiming for 4 months so that I can go and buy all new clothes in the spring when the new season clothes are in the shops.

OneMoreFrog · 17/01/2018 21:58

Tango no kit, just bags of motivation! I've done it for two weeks, wish I can become the type of person who says 'I've done it for years'!!

TalkinPeace · 17/01/2018 21:59

Tango
If you have totally stopped snacking its entirely possible to lose weight that fast for the first week or so
but it will slow down to around 1lb a week

Citrasun · 17/01/2018 22:40

Another one joining in please. I was 11 stone 4 at the start of Jan and want to get back down to 10 stone. I'm 5ft 5 and feel happy at 10 stone. I've been hovering between 10.12 & 11.4 stone for the last year or so and was totally fed up of gaining and losing the same 6 lbs. I've managed to get back down to 10.12 in the last 2 weeks and want to continue all the way back down to 10 this time.

I reckon if I lose 1lb a week, I should reach my goal by Easter. I really need to cut out snacks and booze, as I eat fairly well most of the time. It's tough not reaching for a drink and a few nibbles in the evening though!

YolandasFridge · 17/01/2018 23:02

Thanks and hello naughty

All welcome on the Princessing thread
The ( very tongue in cheek) theory is prepare yourself for a royal wedding ie Meghans as if you were the bride

I got some new scales from amazon that link to an app and tell you lots of things you didn't want to know

I'm doing very low carb (apart from breakfast)
My saviour to curb sweet cravings in the evening is Options hot chocolate

IsabelleSE19 · 18/01/2018 10:09

Am full of cold but it's so beautiful and sunny here I am forcing myself out for a run (may end up walking but it's still exercise I suppose). Also supposed to be fasting today - on track so far but there is still a looooonnnng way to go in the day [why isn't there a hungry emoticon?]

Wish me luck!

mintyneb · 18/01/2018 11:45

Good luck! I couldn't do the fasting just know I would be thinking of food all the time.

Working at home today and have managed to get this far without a snack Smile. I have conference calls back to back from 12 -3 So that will keep me distracted. One call luckily I only have to listen to so will try and knock up a quick lunch otherwise I think I might keep over!
