Twinkle. I have;

Homemade carrot, sweet potato and ginger soup with a slice of Hovis best of both, an apple and a satsumas.

Italian bean and pasta soup (sometimes I have a slice of bread too) and the fruit.

Jacket potato with beans and cheese (Friday treat)

This is only mon-fri. I make the soups on a Sunday and put them in the freezer compartment at work on Monday morning. If I forget I spend a fortune in m&s food!

Sometimes I have soup at weekends if I'm at home.

It's boring but effective!

If anyone is interested, Holland and Barrett have 'slim' noodles/pasta/rice and each portion is (if I remember correctly) 9 calories. It is made using the root of the konjac plant. And is very good for digestion. They are known as 'shirataki' noodles if anyone needs to google. Great for adding 'carbs' to your meal to bulk it out a little.

Crisp breads have 19 calories each and are a great substitute for bread. (E.g you can fill with scrambled egg, chicken pieces, ham slices, cream cheese).

Also one large egg contains 78 calories, but the egg whites only have 17 calories. So removing the yolk can save you 61 calories alone.

I have been a good girl and done some cooking!

I went with butternut squash and leek soup (Delia recipe adapted to what I have), it smells rather nice

BeyondWW · 06/01/2018 23:08

Not only that, but I’ve wandered around my house (while everyone is asleep!) and met my step goal! Woo!!

lastqueenofscotland · 06/01/2018 23:28

Terrible day all told!!!
Fuck sake queen

BeyondWW · 06/01/2018 23:29

What went wrong? :(

ponygirlcurtis · 07/01/2018 09:51

You OK last?

I have also bought a mountain of veg (don't actually have enough room in the fridge for it all!) and am planning on some batch cooking today. Roast chicken and roasted veg to divide up for lunches during the week, and lamb moussaka from the Joe Wicks cookbook. Yum.

Restarting low-carb bootcamp tomorrow so that will be my official January weigh-in.

BeyondWW · 07/01/2018 09:54

Yeah mine didn't fit in the fridge either Grin

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 07/01/2018 10:06

Sounds like a successful day Beyond!

Hope you're ok Last. Fresh start today?

I had a pretty successful day yesterday. Didn't make it to the gym because I had some errands to run in town, but I got my steps up and came in at just under 1200 calories for the day. Hoping that today will be a similar amount of calories and I'm going to try to squeeze in a bodypump class this afternoon. I have also lost 1.8lbs since yesterday, so I'm really hoping a lot of this isn't "proper" weight gain and will go without too much trouble.

Not2bObvious · 07/01/2018 10:22

Your lunch options sound tasty TheDonald, I could definitely eat those options week in week out. It’s great to have a routine, I have some things I rotate as well but I need to get back to eating more soups - the fat fighters friend! Hope you’re ok last, just a bad day I guess, put it behind you. I just can’t behave on weekends so I think I’ll adopt the mindset of Sunday- Thursday weighloss days, Friday & Saturday maintenance days. Up 1.2 from yesterday but that’s just flux from retained food/bloat. Should be back to 11.8’ish by Tuesday and with a decent effort down a pound by Friday. Want to go for a nice family walk here, not sure if the family will think that’s a great idea but it’s sunny & we can wrap up. It won’t kill ‘em😉

I'm ok back on it today. 14 miles run in about 2 hours. Will have a bigger lunch and then a light dinner.
Going to smash today!
Then I start my new job tomorrow

BeyondWW · 07/01/2018 13:39

That's it last, straight back on the wagon 👍

Had my soup for lunch, it was gorgeous (and only 180 cal). Then tea and biscuits from my graze box (my little treat to myself to keep me on track...). Dinner will be salt and chilli pork belly, avocado and scrambled egg. Then than leaves me enough cals for some nuts later :)

Alittlelessplussize lovely post! Congratulations on the start of your blog Smile

Triskaidekaphilia · 07/01/2018 16:27

Briefly jumped on the December thread but I resolve to stay active on this one!
Did about 10 days vlcd in the run up to Christmas which I don't regret as it means it balanced out what I would have gained over christmas- 12st6, same as I've been since about September. I wanted to get back on the VLCD on Sunday but still had food left to use up. Then was going to do it on Monday but instead I ended up eating a load of scrambled eggs and I thought I could do that for a couple of days then go to vlcd once in keto. Did the same on Tues but with other carb-friendly stuff thrown in, though I had a really upset stomach and kept asking myself wtf I was doing.

I was craving toast with my eggs and I had a bit of a revelation; why do I have to attempt at extremes and make myself ill when eating meals like scrambled egg with one bit of toast would be healthy and low in calories? I've obviously calorie counted before but back then I snacked a lot more and found hunger unbearable and unacceptable, plus I would try to eat some pretty bland and carby stuff all the time. i feel like (hope) I've got a new mindset now. I'm planning enjoyable meals that fit into my calorie count. So now I'm doing 1200 cals but trying to avoid too many carbs. I had a blip Thursday, found out mcds now delivers to my house (not even a fan, get it about twice a year, but big tasty is my weakness and it was in!). Ate 2300 cals that day, but some of my days have been under, so my average I've had 1261 a day this week (if I have 1200 today). Only lost 0.4lb but fingers crossed when I go back to work tomorrow I'll be moving around more and see more of a difference.Smile

Now I just need to try to only eat 800 so I can have the forgotten pop tarts I just found in the cupboard! Wink

(Sorry to ramble so long, this is why I need to get into the habit of posting regularly)

ponygirlcurtis · 07/01/2018 17:03

Glad today is a better one last, good luck with the new job tomorrow, sounds like you will be starting with positivity. 😊

Beyond how do you do your salt and chilli pork belly? I have some in the freezer but not sure what to do with it.

Tris, I absolutely agree, anything that means you are eating tasty food and not being hungry will mean you can stick to it.

Lovely blog, Alittlelessplussize, great idea. Another one for your motivation board is from the low-carb bootcamp - the idea that time will pass anyway, whether you try to lose the weight or not. So you can do nothing or do something in that time.

BeyondWW · 07/01/2018 17:10

Um... they're quite easy to make...

Trisk, I have a big tasty weakness too. I get one without the bun and with a side salad and eat it like that!

Kikisdeliveries · 07/01/2018 18:02

It's a good revelation tris, I've had similar and found I don't need to deny myself entire food groups to do this successfully. I may well change my tune when the weight loss stalls again though.

A side effect of logging everything on MFP is that I can see I'm really low on calcium and iron everyday. I do already eat foods that are theoretically rich in both but the quantities aren't big enough I guess. Does anyone have supplements they'd recommend? I'm really bad at remembering to take them.

BeyondWW · 07/01/2018 18:12

I've never looked at my nutrients before. My calcium and iron are shocking too, I wonder how accurate it is...? I take bogstandard supermarket multivits and minerals every morning, along with a few extras that are supposed to be good for various health shit (extra vit b12, calcium and vit d, cod liver oil and evening primrose oil).

Kikisdeliveries · 07/01/2018 18:21

beyond It's quite possibly not at all accurate, but given that I get a reoccurring issue with one of my joints and a section of muscles I'm wondering if I could be doing more to promote healing, beyond the physio and relevant exercise shit. Occasionally I remember to have a multi vitamin effervescent fizzy thing but that's it.

BeyondWW · 07/01/2018 18:24

I input some things from scratch earlier, i wonder if a lot of people aren't adding the micronutrients when they do this?
DH just checked his and he's way over for both, but the calcium is all coming from his protein shakes and the iron from his coco pops!!

cottonwool125 · 07/01/2018 18:43

Today has been a good day. I'm surprised how much low fat yoghurt, a banana and a couple of scrambled eggs can fill me up. This probably sounds like a fairly large breakfast to most people, but I'm a morning snacker so I'm normally hungry again by 10 if I have toast and butter, or cereal. Work was rammed and I didn't get a chance to eat anything until gone 3, and I wasn't even ravenous then! Had some prawns for lunch and a Tesco healthy living ready meal for tea, as I couldn't be bothered to cook when I got home. I'm still 300 calories off my 1400 goal, so I can treat myself to some cheese and crackers later which I'm very excited for Grin

Youngmystery · 07/01/2018 18:58

Going to join this for motivation.

Currently 14 stone 3. I am 5ft 8 and want to be down to 11stone 7 roughly. Not time limit on this really just want it done.

Got myself a fitbit to show how much exercise I'm doing and track what I'm eating. I do horse riding 4 or 5 days a week, trying to do walking every day and then using the rowing machine or doing yoga at night. Hoping it works.
