Sorry about the crap thread title. I’m afraid my head hurts rather a lot!

Welcome to the best™️ Thread on MN where the Slenderistas help and support each other in their weight loss goals (and other stuff as well). Join in and lose the Lindas.

Exercise doesn't really get rid of weight, but it can change your shape - and it's so good for visceral fat and general well-being.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/01/2018 15:01

Fish I always find that when I've exercised I'm more likely to stay on track food wise. I don't want to have suffered and then ruin it Grin

Sainsburys had run out of my favourite salad. I have the grumps about it. The replacement (Greek salad) wasn't half as nice. The dressing was so sour it made me wince!

Ah its fine Niki it has only been playing up for 9 years!

Not agony, just a bit uncomfortable, worse if I run on it, I do tend to exaggerate!

Not2bObvious · 30/01/2018 15:13

Another one with creaky knees, honestly what a bunch of crocks are we😂 I’m another one that the running helps, it really only grumbles badly when I’m over 12 stone - weight affects it worse than any exercise. I like to think if I ever (EVER!!!) get to a healthy weight it might fix the pain.
Clinging onto the wagon my the tips of my fingers, I was 11.10.8 on the 2nd Jan, I’ll be lucky to get to 11.6 by 2nd Feb.

IheartCaptainHolt · 30/01/2018 15:24

Just nipping I'm to say another 2.5lb off this week so that's 7.5lb in January which I am very pleased with.

I don't post much but I read everyday and you are all very inspiring!

TheDonald · 30/01/2018 15:37

Hairspray my dodgy knee is also from an injury when I was 17. Mine was because I fell off a stile during a D of E expedition.

I think you were probably a cooler 17yo than me!

fishonabicycle · 30/01/2018 16:17

Rubbish knees here too! I don't do running - mostly weights/body weight exercises and some yoga and walking. I love walking.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 30/01/2018 17:11

Just having my lazy tea - two hot cross buns, a banana and an apple

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 30/01/2018 17:12

(My knees also packed in long before the rest of my body did. Hypermobility...)

BitOutOfPractice · 30/01/2018 17:18

IheartCaptainHolt that's a stonking result! Well done!

Just tried on a size 28 inch Ted Baker skinny jean. They not only fit but the waist band was too big!

Kikisdeliveries · 30/01/2018 17:56

Anyone here not got a dodgy knee?!

lastqueenofscotland · 30/01/2018 18:21

Hairspray a good friend of mine tore her ACL and I quote "dancing like a tramp at 3am"
Hopefully your friends have let you live it down more than we ever let her.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/01/2018 21:38

I've had another tip top golden day. I am eyeing the wine though

Any ideas for February's thread title?

I found this on Instagram

Along with the words dont let the weekend be your weak end!

New Year, New Wagon: the Slenderistas Resolve to Lose 7lbs in January
Not2bObvious · 31/01/2018 06:15

Morning all - scales very slowly releasing its grasp on my weekend weight or weak end haha. I’ve managed 3 good days but was a bit nibbly yesterday, need to keep busy. I’m listening to an audio book about a woman who lost a lot of weight, she had therapy throughout as she’d had eating disorders. One strategy her therapist recommended was to stop binges RCD, recognise that you’re about to lose it, something beginning with c - it might be compromise - so if you can’t avoid unnecessary eating pick something better/healthier, then distract - do something to take your mind off it, e.g. make a list of things to do that aren’t conducive to eating but will give you a lift or a sense of achievement. The idea being over time you’ll find it easier to break those days where you obsess TIL you crack or you graze all around you fighting the original crave (or maybe that’s just me)
Anyway I’m going to give it a go

lastqueenofscotland · 31/01/2018 06:21

Finishing Jan on 6 down.
Not quite what I was hoping for but a skiing holiday and my birthday made life difficult... ready to smash it in Feb

HairsprayBabe · 31/01/2018 07:13

Excellen NSV niki and fab motivation too!

Don't think I was a particularly cool 17 year old, just boy obsessed and a bit of a show off... some things never change Grin

10.3 so -5lbs for Jan, could have been a lot better but I lost the plot this weekend, I blame AF.... also just realised I didn't start properly properly untill the 2nd week of Jan and I have had 3 big nights out in that time so I think any loss is a bonus.

Next month is my birthday month, but not till the end of the month, hoping a few golden weekends will push me into the 9s permenantly?!

Kikisdeliveries · 31/01/2018 07:13

Also ending the month at 6 Lindas down. Not sure what Feb will bring as I'm at the weight I tend to get stuck at and indeed have been hovering around this weight since 7th Jan.

HappyGowerGirl · 31/01/2018 07:45

Massive well done to any January losses!

Thankfully I don't have dodgy knees as running is pretty much the one thing to keep me slim and mostly, sane!!! Love running.

TheDonald · 31/01/2018 08:24

Morning all. Checking in with an end of month weight of 10 10.6.

That's a 1lb loss for the month.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that I haven't gained. I've hardly done any exercise and I've been picking at the mountain of work crap more than I'd like.

I'm going to treat January as an example of how I can maintain my weight. I haven't slipped back into my terrible comfort eating habits, I've just got on with eating normally.

Plans for February are to fix my dodgy ankle and lose another 3lb to get to 10 7.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 31/01/2018 08:36

Morning all. Up a smidge this morning, so taking my lowest this week as my number - down 10.4lbs :)

Kikisdeliveries · 31/01/2018 09:09

BOOP Feb thread idea - maybe something along the lines of 'fresh start February' given how many on the thread have struggled with January?

HairsprayBabe · 31/01/2018 09:28

Lose the FLABuary?
Let's get FABuary?
Roses are red, violets are blue, stick with the slenderistas and you could lose 7lbs too?

Happy Birthday Hairspray - stay away from that cake? - might not work for everyone though Grin
