Another Monday, hurrahHmm One of these Mondays I’ll wake up without trying to determine if I’m actually sick or just sick of going to work on Mondays! Slept it out so missed my bootcamp class but I was proper exhausted after only 4 hours sleep Saturday into Sunday (ok Sunday am to Sunday am) and a decent jog of over an hour. I’ll go to a weights class later so I’ll keep with the never miss a Monday idea.
My scales and me are having a hate hate relationship, I’m daily weighing but now resolved to take a weekly average, so for last week I was on average 11.6, and that’s that! My jeans this morning are tight & my humour is of grim determination to stop the stupid weekend behaviour😡

twinkledag · 29/01/2018 08:56

I think we should all blame January and have a golden February!

I did 25 minutes on my exercise bike last night SmileSmileSmile. Pilates tonight.

A very light day involving eggs, chicken breast, salad and veg!

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 29/01/2018 08:58

I've just had breakfast and got a soup and a curry out of the freezer for my meals today. Gonna make a sort of mousakka later hopefully, minus the potato

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 10:01

One NSV for me today. I have logged my food with mfp every day for a year today.

Wow that's impressive BOOP 👏

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 11:10

I missed one day last January when I was on holiday and lost 250+ days. I was gutted.

QuimReaper · 29/01/2018 11:18

Woah, that is amazing BOOP!

twinkle that's so weird, I had a Bottomless Saturday too, it was honestly like I had hollow legs, nothing was touching the sides. I wonder what caused it? Something in the air maybe!

Beyond 10lb in one month is amazing.

I've got nothing lined up until a humungous Friday, so hoping to chip away at a bit more of my December gain before then. Gaaaaaagh it's so hard when I'm so close to target, it creeps on so easily and shifts so slowly! I remember reading something a few years ago pointing out that net-gaining a pound or two each Christmas and holiday accounts for why so many people are a couple of stone overweight in their forties having been slim in their twenties. It's a much better idea to get on top of it when it's only a couple of pounds than to let it build up. That's what keeps me motivated to try and get back to target rather than thinking "meh, never mind, it's only a kilo".

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 11:25

Quim that must be right. I mean, 2lbs on every Christmas, 2lbs on every summer holiday for 25 years = 100lbs! Thinking about it like that it's a wonder I wasn't even larger!

I'm in the same boat as you. So near to goal and struggling with the last 10lbs. I'm so bored of it now to be honest.

SAME!

I have been on a diet for a year and a half! And I have gained and lost the same 10 lbs since JULY!

I just want to be skinny!

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 11:43

Hairspray yep. I got to my all time low last June!! Not been back there since, let alone below it! Grrrr!

OP posts:
NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:20

I have been saying gym to you since July also Hairspray.

Runs away Wink

HairsprayBabe · 29/01/2018 12:26

I know Niki and I am very slowly coming round to the idea of it... I was even googling gyms yesterday....

I will get there I just need to push myself plus we are slightly skint atm

NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:35

I am back down to my pre Christmas weight. Lost the couple of pounds I gained.

Also my muscle mass has increased lots on boditrax and my body fat has dropped to 26% again.

All the weight training was a good call.

Will try and keep it up.

Had a whinge with my gym buddies. Everyone hates January. Grin

NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:36

Ah yes. Money is the thing with gyms.

Is there a basic one you could go to. The Gym is cheap.

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 12:38

I think PureGym is cheaper too

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 12:39

That's one thing I'm grateful for, I've kept going to the gym throughout January and I think that has helped, mentally and physically. I'm loving it in fact

I'm also back to pre-Christmas weight. I'd just love another 10lbs off. Seems impossible at the mo

OP posts:
NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:42

It is so true boop.

When I had a bit of a slump last week I realised I hadn't been to the gym much.

So i forced myself over the last few days and got out on the bike and i feel better for it.

My gym is fairly expensive. But I'm used to it. I have friends here. I have classes I love.

I dont smoke, I rarely drink, I dont have a partner so rarely go out.

My gym is my luxury spend or id have nothing to do or look forward to.

HairsprayBabe · 29/01/2018 12:46

I don't drive, walking distance of my new flat there is
Fitness Space £50 pcm
Virgin Active £57 pcm
David Lloyd £60-100 pcm
Roko Gym £55 pcm

There is a "The Gym" gym, about a 20 min walk from my office, so that is probably my best bet at this point!

twinkledag · 29/01/2018 12:51

Quim - It's a much better idea to get on top of it when it's only a couple of pounds than to let it build up.

I am going to try and remember this as I am hurtling towards 40 a good 2.5 stone over my lowest weight, which was when I was 26! sigh

NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:54

I cycle to the gym weather permitting. But it has been tough in the winter and I had the bike anyway. Had it for a few years.

NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 12:58

Hit post too soon....as the gym ksnt walking distance either and I dont have a car.

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2018 13:06

Hairspray one thing to consider is to look at what classes they offer. Makes all the difference to me (and Niki I think). I probably do three classes a week and the rest of the time I just go and noodle around

My DP forced me to go last night. I really didn't want to. But I'm so glad I did. I only did a bit of speed work on the treadmill, some abs exercises and a few weights, took about 45 minutes but I'm so glad I went

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 29/01/2018 13:08

Can't ride a bike Niki very dyspraxic! But I can walk from work, then hop on the bus home.

£14.99 a month isn't bad.... I did want to wait till the January flurry was over so when I move in a few weeks I will get set up then and hopefully it should be a little quieter by then anyway!

HairsprayBabe · 29/01/2018 13:09

That includes the classes, that all look pretty ok, they do have a day pass that I can try before I sign up proper, I really can't afford any of the others though!

NewYearNiki · 29/01/2018 13:17

The gym is a game changer I find anyway.

I always incorporated exercise from the start and if I want a chocolate or cake or pizza I have it and I still lost all the weight.

You can rest easier on a weekend out knowing the classes have taken care of some of the excess.

Classes help so much as you have to keep up. I would just mooch around on the gym.floor otherwise
