London.

I love Edinburgh but literally just came back from there. I did Hogmanay. I also went in the Summer so feel like I need to go somewhere else now.

BeyondWW · 15/01/2018 10:52

Oo London makes trains and buses relatively simple, that should hopefully help if you don't have to pay for a flight. How about somewhere like bath?

KOOP 0.6lbs or 270g is a natural fluctuation. No one's weight stays the same. 270g is not really a gain.

I dont find walking does anything at all for me with regards to weight loss but then everyone is different. Try the brisk walk for an hour and see what happens.

Morning all! Hope you all had lovely weekends.

Terrible day for eating yesterday- it’s the time of the month so I was in a funny mood food-wise, starting off ok but went down hill in the afternoon... I haven’t weighed this morning as I know it won’t be good! But so far so ok today. Back on track for a fresh week ahead! HaloHaloHalo

Koko, I imagine it works along the lines of a much less strict 5:2, so long as there's a deficit, you'll lose :)

BeyondWW · 15/01/2018 14:40

To add to my many diet-approved meals to go in the freezer, today I have made veggie bean chilli (shallots, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, chillis and jalapeños, baby corn, quorn mince, tinned toms, borlotti beans, cannellini beans, kidney beans and butter beans. Plus some veg oil, chilli powder and salt).
Hopefully six portions, which comes to 267 cal a serving.

ponygirlcurtis · 15/01/2018 17:12

koko I think someone posted the steps info before but here it is again: (just Googled it)

People who take fewer than 5,000 steps are considered to be sedentary or inactive. Those who take 5,000 to 7,499 steps daily have a low active lifestyle. Somewhat active people usually take 7,500 to 9,999 steps per day. People considered to be active take 10,000 or more steps per day.

Niki if you just need to get away from people for your birthday then why not get yourself a Groupon for a spa day at a nearby hotel and do that?

Right I am so bloody sick of myself and my weight loss excuses that I’ve gone back in time. I’ve got a brand new book and a pen and I am writing everything down that passes my lips. Using my phone just wont cut it cos I can easily change it whereas if I write it down I don’t like crossings out. I’ve gone back to dinosaur 🦕 times but as long as I lose some weight I don’t care. Angel Week ahead I think/hope.

TheDonald · 15/01/2018 22:44

Terrible day here. I am fighting off a bug and I've felt like crap all day. I've dealt with it by eating ALL the sugar I could pay my hands on.

I gave up logging by the second doughnut Blush

I'm really struggling to motivate myself since Christmas. Not sure how to get back into it. Is anyone else struggling?

HairsprayBabe · 16/01/2018 07:04

10.3 and I had a perfect fast day yesterday 😠
I never go up in the week normally! What is happening!?!?!

Only thing I can think of is that I didn't drink much yesterday...

BeyondWW · 16/01/2018 08:02

Morning all. Stellar day yesterday and I'm down another 1.6lbs. Even managed to resist Xmas pudding when I cooked a whole one for the kids - and there's tonnes left. Keeping with the mantra that food is not "saved" from being wasted if I eat it :)

HappyGowerGirl · 16/01/2018 09:00

Amazing work Beyond!

I sympathise will everyone struggling with motivation. It's so hard in January!!!

Right, hoping "gain" was due to lack of movement... ahem

Meal plan for today (fast day)
Lunch
Smoothie Bowl
Tinned unsweetened apple, iceberg lettuce, blueberries, spirulina powder, psyllium husk powder, green tea, cashew butter 225 cals

Dinner
White bean stew thing
Butter beans, leeks, courgette, cabbage, sage, vegetable stock, olive oil.
About 250 cals depending on the size of the veg.

I will see the 9s again.... grrr

Morning all. Scales has dropped .8 so I’m only .4 up from Friday.
For anyone despairing over scale flux, I feel your pain but try to remember that’s all it is, flux. Note it and forget it, if it was a true gain it wouldn’t show up and go again. Try keep consistent with food/water/exercise. If you eat too little or go bonkers on the exercise, you very well may binge and that’ll negate any weight loss. So you may think you’re not losing on 1200 a day but you’re not eating 1200 a day, that is day in/day out cause a couple of blow outs ruins those figures. And 1200 is very very hard to stick to imho.
What I follow recommends losing weight on the most calories possible so it’s sustainable and not blooming miserable. And you learn how to eat so you don’t like it all back on later. So I eat 1700-1800, ok more likely it averages to 1800-1900 over the week as I have more at weekends. I do 10-15k steps a day, and I lose between 1 and 2 pound a week. I’m 11.5-11.6 at the moment, 5ft4inches and I make up the steps between gym/jog/walk - none of the steps are magic - doesn’t matter the format only the volume. Sure I can run more steps in less time, that’s a difference but once I realised I still lost the same by being quite active rather than obsessive active this helped greatly with my hunger. Sorry for the lectureBlush

IheartCaptainHolt · 16/01/2018 11:50

I’m glad it’s useful keep, I didn’t want to sound all preachy, it’s just after so many years of poor success I “think” I’m seeing the way. As I mentioned in previous post I follow Team RH and because of my current weight and activity level they recommend 1700 a day - I’m aiming to stick to that but I’m just finding I’m losing weight fine at closer to 1800/1900 and as they recommend losing on the most calories I do that. I think I’d class myself as active, I do bootcamp 3 mornings a week, jog 2-3 times a week and walk whenever I can. Now don’t let that discourage you, I do all those things cause I have time and it’s what I need for my mental health. If I just walked the 15,000 a day I’d get pretty much the same weight loss. Some days I just pop on a program and march in front of the TV or put on music and dance with the kids. Or even rarer do housework haha! I have a Fitbit HR watch but your phone (most smartphones) will track your steps if you keep it on you, or even a cheapo pedometer will do the trick. I just aim to be active throughout my day, walking my dd to school, walking to shops instead of driving. Before Christmas I was yo-yo’ing up/down because I was doing too much exercise and as a result I was starving and going mental at weekends. So I wasn’t gaining but it was only a matter of time before I got discouraged like so many other times and let the overeating creep to the week days too. I like to think I’m getting out of my own way these days😉

I get like that N2bO!

Because I know what has finally clicked for me I am bloody evangelical about it to other people! I worry I come across as very preachy and annoying!

Smoothie was ok today, bit too thin I think I prefer them thicker, more satisfying. I think I just need to use a little less green tea.
