Woah Hairspray that's 2 off overnight! Brilliant! What's the psyllium husk in the smoothie for?

I've only lost one sodding Linda since last Thursday. I was hoping it'd be more after a golden week, not sure why though... And next week I have a boozy lunch on Wednesday! I'm doomed. Never mind though, only 3 to go, I'll get there.

judy I make one almost every week! Mine is usually

A bed of spinach leaves
Anything in the veg drawer which needs using up (usually 2 x peppers and a courgette), chopped up and tossed in a skillet with red onion and garlic (Hair prefers spring onions as they're lower carb, IIRC)
Sprinkle with crumbled basil and black olives, and chopped basil or thyme leaves if I've got any kicking around
Sprinkling of grated Cheddar
4 or 5 eggs (you can do 2 eggs + x egg whites if you want to cut calories) whipped up into a big frothy cloud and poured over the whole lot
Sprinkling of Parmesan over that to make a nice crust

Bung in oven for about 40 minutes
Et voila

I usually have a smallish slice (less than a quarter), DH has a big whack of it, and then he takes the rest to work the next day. I serve it on a bed of spinach leaves with chopped cherry toms. It's seriously easy and lasts like a dream in the fridge, and it's nice cold or heated up. Excellent make-ahead lunch.

Happy birthday Feez and twinkle!

And WAHEY on a golden week Kiki! Don't freak out over the weekend - just remember, I've lost 25lbs by only dieting during the week and then full-on Saturnalia Fri-Sun Grin Not suggesting you go mad, but don't beat yourself up if you let your hair down a bit, or you'll really struggle to have another "normal" week next week. Just keep repeating "back on it on Monday, back on it on Monday, back on it on Monday..."

(And then get back on it on Monday Grin )

QuimReaper · 12/01/2018 09:59

judy obviously you can also forego the three different cheeses from my recipe Grin The Parmesan topping isn't essential and the feta is far from it, but a sprinkling of cheese over the veg and under the egg is a must.

QuimReaper · 12/01/2018 10:00

Sprinkle with crumbled basil

That's crumbled feta, not "crumbled basil" Confused

HairsprayBabe · 12/01/2018 10:06

Yes I was rather pleased with that myself Quimmy

Psyllium husk is a fiber supplement, for... ahem "regularity" also swells in the stomach with water and keeps you full for ages. Literally tastes of nothing, so you can add it to all sorts of things.

Mine came from holland and barrett in a big green bag that said "Colon Cleanse" in huge letters on it... not my most glamorous purchase of all time!

SparklyLights · 12/01/2018 10:19

Happy Birthday for yesterday, Feezles and Twinkle! Hope you both had lovely days.

Congratulations to all those who have lost some poundage! PS - What are Lindas?

Quim that recipe sounds amazing. Going to try that, it's a good way of using up stuff too.

I had a recipe where you basically chucked any random veg in the over to roast, onions and garlic, with maybe with a chicken breast or sausages on top or crumbled basil feta Wink for the veggies, but it requires many large "splashes" of olive oil which didn't help the waistline... I am wondering whether to bother trying that with FryLight as an alternative or if it'll all just be a dried-out mess...

2lb down this morning even though I had 2 rogue Quality Streets I found behind a cushion on the sofa, and an extra piece of toast. Yesterday was the first day I felt I had 'got a grip' of the food situation though since well before Christmas so I am really pleased.

Hairspray brilliant you are down to 10st dead! Fingers crossed you wake up tomorrow in the 9's... I am on 10st 2lb today, would like to see the 9s again too (have hovered in the 10s too long). I used to weigh 14.5st a few years ago so I'm always a bit nervous I could just put that back on. I'm fairly small framed too.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day staying on track! Do you call them golden days here?

HappyGowerGirl · 12/01/2018 10:22

Hey guys I'm struggling to stay motivated at the moment... I thought I would focus on fitness and exercise for a while as I'm near goal weight now, but I've been so knackered and hungry this week (partly due to exercise) I seem to have actually gained a Linda. I had a really good nights sleep last night for the first time in ages so I'm hoping that will help to keep me motivated...

HairsprayBabe · 12/01/2018 10:47

Yes Sparkly A golden day is when you have perfect food, good water intake, exercise, steps etc exactly to plan!

A whole week of those is a golden week!

If you are extra good, shoving in a fast day/extra exercise class/ more green tea whatever then you have an angel day/week...

They are very rare though I basically never have one! Plenty of golden days though Grin

I am also terrified of regain, I had lost by mid december 5st7 in total so I really have maintenance panic! Need to get to goal before I think about that though

Better to ease yourself in gower

BitOutOfPractice · 12/01/2018 13:31

Hello everyone

I can hardly spot you there hairspray what with you being so slender! Well done to you!

Sparkly a Linda is a pound. It was an autocorrect months ago and it stuck

I'm still plugging away. Managed a 8km run yesterday. Not been that far in years

More birthday celebrations for DD's 18th this weekend so I'm going to try and be good the rest of the time

Oh wow hairspray, over 5 stone loss? That’s amazing, you’ve lost a third of yourself (or a decent sized child!)
Gower, I hear about the thing called reverse dieting which I “think” is appropriate for when you hit goal and need to learn to maintain. Maintenance is as much of a challenge as losing, although I can’t speak from experience (yet!)
Delighted with my Friday weigh in, down 2.8 from last week to 11.5.6 - so so pleased. I averaged around 1800 calories a day and did 15k steps through a variety of ways (walk, jog, gym) I know it won’t continue to this level but at least I’m back to a little less than Christmas weight and only 2.4 over my lightest 2017 weight. I’d kill for 1lb a week going forward.
Hope we all have a brill weekend😉

twinkledag · 12/01/2018 16:16

Everyone's doing so well! And well done hairspray, amazing results so far.

I'm easing myself back into dieting gently after manic week of work and birthday. Today's menu has been porridge, orange juice, chicken salad and a slice of pannenote. Might just have halloumi and salad for dinner.

Need to get some eggs on for breakfast rather than porridge so I can do proper low carb!!

lastqueenofscotland · 12/01/2018 18:44

Hairspray you are such a machine!

Kikisdeliveries · 12/01/2018 21:45

What lovely updates today!

My yesterday's extreme hunger was a blip and I did eat 1800 in the end, after which I was sated and included eggs and a huge pot of yogurt so I'm wondering if I'm low on something essential which my body is trying to get me to eat. I'm quite shocked at how low my protein and calcium are on Mfp for example...

Friday is a chaotic eating day as I go from a very busy work day to home for 30 mins then out teaching sports for 2 hours. But I've come in at 1350 and feel great so very pleased.

Who knows what the weekend will bring food wise but there will be a run and yoga and martial arts Grin

caremummy · 12/01/2018 21:54

Me and my pal are going for our gym induction tomorrow. I won't be going to the actual gym, but they have a load of classes which I will go to.
One being 'tabata fit' which if I will book on to for sunday.
They are only 30 mins, and for the next few weeks I am going to aim for 4 different classes a week.
Slimming world wagon again, rocky road as usual

twinkledag · 12/01/2018 22:19

Diet fail as DH & DS took me out for a birthday meal Grin

Kikisdeliveries · 13/01/2018 08:30

Disappointing weigh in - have stayed at exactly 11.4.8 for last half of this week which is 2 Lindas up on last week (5 Linda total loss this month, which is now not even all my xmas weight). Feeling like I can't even maintain on

TheDonald · 13/01/2018 09:13

Disappointing weigh in for me this morning too but I'm not surprised.

I got 10 9 last Saturday but I think that was a blip due to unreliable scales because I was getting 10 10 or 11 every day before and after.

I got 10 10.6 today which is ok but not great. Only 1lb down so far this year.

I keep having good days but then it all goes wrong in the evening because I'm hungry. I have been running more than usual and it gives me a massive appetite.

Have a good weekend everyone Smile

HairsprayBabe · 13/01/2018 09:20

10 dead, had peanuts and chocolate after dinner last night oopsy....

See current progress pic, 1st one on holiday a week before I started dieting in 2016 2nd on xmas eve this year

Not2bObvious · 13/01/2018 09:32

OMG, you look amazing! You look so much younger now and you’re glowing. Thanks for sharing, that’s so encouraging.
Down another pound to 11.4.6, really surprised but it’s likely a blip. Drank way too many Gin last night and I’m dying. How I’ll get my steps done today I don’t know but I’ll aim for 10k steps at least. The silver lining might be I won’t be able to drink tonight and I’m not going to make the mistake of trying to eat my way out of the hangover. Ohh if I could just sleep

TheDonald · 13/01/2018 09:38
Shock

Wowee!! You look amazing.

Does anyone else get a bit freaked out by seeing posters' actual faces?!

Maybe I subconsciously think you're all Russian bots!

ARichVernacular · 13/01/2018 11:35

Hairspray you look fabulous :)

SparklyLights · 13/01/2018 11:35

Hairspray you look wonderful! You looked lovely before, but you really look amazing now. You also seem 10 years younger! Hard to believe it's the same person!

Well done Not2 on your pound off today!

Twinkle birthday meals... ahh you've got to enjoy your birthday, it wouldn't be the same if you were sipping water and eating plain green beans while everyone else was tucking in!

Kikis enjoy your body pump class - mixing up the workouts is meant to be really effective.

Still 10 2 for me today so no change. Had a few extra bits and bobs to eat last night so I was expecting it (family Friday nights include a few snacks). Out tonight so there won't be any good change tomorrow on the scales either Smile but I am going to plan a week of golden days and many Lindas off (positive thinking!) next week...

Hope everyone has a great day today!

BeyondWW · 13/01/2018 11:39

Wow hairspray, that picture is amazing. And yes, you look ten years younger!! Shock
Wonder if that thinspiration might keep me on the wagon this time...?

HairsprayBabe · 13/01/2018 11:40

Ah thank you all, I know it is very vain and shallow but I thrive on the positive feedback Blush

Had blueberry protein pancakes for brunch, going for a no snack weekend, tricky but possible if I remain away from the kitchen untill tea time... terrible shame means DP will have to make all the tea and coffee today 😈

BeyondWW · 13/01/2018 11:42

I have a night out tonight so I'll be trying not to snack too - damage limitation! Making up my gnt in the tonic bottles so I don't have to take (and therefore accidentally drink...) the whole bottle. Got lemons and limes to put in too :)
