Hello Ladies! I know its early but Id like to see the interest for starting a weight loss group beginning of January. I find it so hard to stay on track when the results are very slow, it would be awesome to have someone to run to to say remind me why I shouldn't eat this delicious sausage roll thats already pressed to my lips! Id like to post meals and recipes with some people that are in the same boat as myself! Life is busy and sometimes convenience food is quicker and easier and it makes you feel good until its eaten. So who else out there would like that little bit more motivation! We can do this together! Smile

I'm definitely back on it after Christmas.

Lost my way a bit after a good start to this year. I weigh less than I did last Christmas, so I count that as a win, but I'm still a stone over my upper healthy weight.

So, come next week I will be back to logging everything on MFP!

Do you have a specific plan, or are you thinking eat less, move more?

I've just been to weigh myself and I'm in, too. I need to loose 6 kg starting on the second of January / first day back to work.

MFP has popped up on my phone to remind me to weigh myself...

To be fair, I did, but mostly because I've had a stomach bug the last couple of days and was curious. I've lost 2lb!

Mostly better now, so looking forward to my Christmas dinner later. Not sure if I'll feel up to drinking, though...

Yes Ladies!! Im still deciding if I should give slimming world a go or go back to clean eating but either way we can weigh in together and have each other to have a moan at when we are loosing the will! haha 2ND of January it is then!! Im actually excited to start especially knowing what I am going to be eating from now until then!

I'm in!! I managed to lose 3 stone in 2016 - 2017 but have now put nearly all of it back on.
I really need to lose around 5 but will be delighted with 4.

What works for me is not calorie counting too strictly (I read somewhere that for a mid 40s woman it is counterproductive?), but what works for me is logging all I eat and keeping an eye on calories without being too strict about a certain limit.
I will start wearing my fitbit again and get my steps in.
And eat healthier.

I'm back to work on January 4th but will start my healthier lifestyle on the 2nd when dh is back to work.

I'm in! I have Tom Kerridge's new low-calorie book coming on the 28th and I am trying not to pig out completely. I'm not a fan of MFP but can't deny that it works... I've got a January birthday coming up which invariably means I say fuck it and carry on eating until it's gone by. Will be charging up my Fitbit and getting back into walking, too.

I decided to start today.
I've got a migraine - got up too late. The headache is bearable, but I can't eat. Might as well put this to a good use.

So: 74 kg, 89 waist and 102 hips - aim: 68 kg
Method: 5:2 and writing everything down.

I'm in! I'm actually nearly 23 weeks pregnant so I'm not going to be dieting, but just trying to eat a healthy balanced diet, and maybe lose a bit of fat in the process (My BMI is well over 30, so I can afford to do this Grin). I don't want to gain lots more weight over the next trimester. I'm thinking of doing Slimming World from January onwards, because it is recommended by the Royal College of Midwives. Now...to finish this Christmas cheese 🧀

Why all planning for Jan?.

What not just start making small changes from this lunchtime. A slightly smaller portion and then a taster for pudding rather than full portion.

It seems daft to hold off healthy eating!

Because there is so much yummy food in the house.... And I am a bit of an all or nothing person.

With regards to mfp - I have had success with that in the past. But I find logging all the food such a faff.

I'll join. I originally started May 1st this year when I was 15st 6lb. I weighed myself on 18th Dec and was 11st 10lb so a loss so far of 3st 10lb. I know I'll put weight on over christmas but will start again in Jan, logging on MFP which is how I lost the weight so far.

Hopfully posting on this thread will helpto keep me focussed to lose the final bit that I need to. I'm aiming for 10st 6lb which will bring me down to about 23.5 on the BMI scale.

I’m in. I lost 3 stone last year but ideally have another one to go. I do the 5:2 diet usually but as I was breastfeeding I just didn’t eat too much junk & sugar. DH has also been on a health kick so there’s no one bringing junk into the house.

I really want to get back exercising. Since the evenings got dark I have no motivation. I used to go weighs and yoga after putting DD down - now I watch tv and snack so that needs to change!

@Wishingandwaiting because today is Boxing Day, and we are about to have bubble and squeak, cold meats, Christmas pudding and cheese! I'm definitely scaling back what I eat after today though, in preparation for Jan.and also because I can't cope with the indigestion Blush
