Hi all,
I know there’s been threads on this before but I can’t find anything recent in this area.
I know this works as it’s worked for friends (male and female) who religiously so it every 4/5 months. You lose 6kilos in a week.
Anyone want to join me, starting tomorrow?
The rules and diet plan are here;

www.jaduncan.com/2006/04/how-i-lost-stone-in-week.html?m=1

The diet was designed by doctors to help people lose weight (a stone) in a week.. which I really really need as I’ve just started a new job (after 6 weeks off which meant I was bored and ate loads) as none of my dresses fit!!

Xx

Hi Puree
I found red grapefruit sweeter and chilled overnight was refreshing and now I don't mind
Salad is only lettuce, tomato , cucumber and celery
If it doesn't stimpulate the quantity you can have what you want but at the end of day you want to see results so don't go too mad - on Tuesday for lunch I had two slices of toast and large chicken breast and made a sandwich with tomatoes on side.
Good luck

This diet has been around for yonks, my mum used to do it - the paper my mum had it on said 'mayo clinic diet' but not sure even that was the origin. Someone up thread said it's chemical balance that's key -that's not really true, it's very low calorie, partly because low fat.

Glad everyone is having so much success with it?!

Mallk · 10/07/2018 19:30

HI Peuree sorry I spelt your name wrong good old spell check took over. Re breakfast with lunch personally I wouldn't it states it is a chemical diet so adding breakfast to the lunch would change the chemicals in that meal , but it's just my advice but I am not an expert just someone who did this diet last week

Mallk · 10/07/2018 19:40

Hi NicolaMarlowsMerlin I did this diet last week , and added to this thread which hadnt been active for a long time because I liked the food that was listed and was desperate to lose weight for my holidays in less than two weeks time and wanted to see how much weight I could lose in a week and by posting held me accountable and kept me focussed .
It has been around for a long time and there are several versions and also very similar to an egg diet one I saw but with fruit salad and less eggs .
Worked for me alright not the promised 14 lbs but still just under half a stone and in one week I am happt with that loss.
It's low fat and low carb and low calorie

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 11/07/2018 07:42

I felt like I had blown it yesterday as I had steak rather than the lamb chops (they are so pricey) and it seemed like a lot more in quantities..but 7lbs down as of this morning! I know it's just water weight, but I'll take anything I can get at this point. Starting day 4 today, which is meant to be the hard day..meeting a friend for coffee and cake (minus the cake for me obvs)..need all the help I can get!

Mallk · 11/07/2018 08:05

Well done GoodFortuneAttendThee keep going .

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 11/07/2018 08:33

Thank you, you too Flowers

newyorklover1 · 11/07/2018 09:23

I'm going to give this a go.

I need to lose 1 stone and 3lbs to get to a bmi of 25. I am dieting like mad but seem to lose weight so slowly, I take a step forward and then back again! It's driving me mad. I think my metabolism is really slow Sad

My downfall is alcohol so this diet will give me the restriction I need.

There aren't any quantities so how much toast/tomatoes etc do you have?

Mallk · 11/07/2018 11:23

Hi newyorklover1 where it says 1 toast you have to just have 1 slice if it does not give a quantity you can have what you want . All the best

Tiddler7 · 11/07/2018 14:23

All according to plan today, no more pigging out, still lost 2.5kg

My new scale arrived and waiting for me at home, so proper weight checks from tomorrow.

Well done everyone, and good luck!

Tiddler7 · 11/07/2018 14:27

NewYork I have the same problem, alcohol 😶 Since I've stopped wine and snacking I have soooo much more energy 💪

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 11/07/2018 14:31

Definitely mucked up today. Too many grapes.

Mallk · 12/07/2018 08:28

Well done Tiddler7 not long to go before week 1 is complete. Wine is also my vice - one bottle is around the same calories we are eating all day on this plan !

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 12/07/2018 08:42

By some miracle managed to stay the same this morning, yay! Good luck for today everyone xx

Tiddler7 · 12/07/2018 10:11

-3kg, new scales rubbish, shows different weight every time...

Good luck everyone. Be strong!

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 12/07/2018 10:43

3kg is fab! well done! I'm actually really enjoying eating this way..only thing I really miss is a decent coffee/cappucino.

Tiddler7 · 12/07/2018 13:14

Ha! I'm shocked to admit, I don't mind black coffee Shock

I am getting fed up with fruit though. Glad just tomorrow, and I can eat some normal food. For a week at least 😁

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 12/07/2018 13:45

I'm going to try and keep it up for as long as I can (foolish I know).

Mallk · 14/07/2018 07:09

That’s great loss tiddler7

Mallk · 14/07/2018 07:19

Update

ok so day 6 of eating normal meals after my 7 1/4 lb loss of finishing a week of doing this diet a fortnight ago
I am very happy to report that in that time period I have stayed the same 👍👏👍😀 I have not gained the weight ,
I have eaten less than I did previously as my stomach has shrunk and I have not picked between meals but I have had chocolate and wine 🍷
Unfortunately I am now going on holiday for a month so likely to gain half a stone as I always do when I go away for this period of time which is why I did this diet in the first place
So I will be back if I do gain that half a stone
Good luck to everyone

Mallk · 14/07/2018 07:42

Hi Goodfortunethee
I was very tempted to continue after the 7 days as I only had 6 days before my holidays and I was really worried I would gain it all back as quick as it went . Decided not to continue because it said don’t do more than a week and take a break so I took the plunge amd went back to normal food and wine and I am pleased I did.
I think that by taking the break it keeps your metabolism going and let’s face it who doesn’t need wine now and then

GoodFortuneAttendThee · 14/07/2018 08:44

I'm on my last day and 9lbs down, which is miraculous as though I have been good food wise a few sneaky cappuccinos have crept in (though I have avoided real milk). We are going on holiday in 6 weeks time and I have a LOT to lose, so I'm going to try another week see if it does anything. Have a lovely holiday Malik!

Mallk · 14/07/2018 12:45

Thank you Goodfortuneattenthee what a great loss as well you must be very pleased with that result. please post how you get on doing a second week and if I can I will log on and see how you are doing .
😎

jasminesummer · 23/07/2018 18:21

just started today! little bit hard found it best keeping busy. looking forward to tommorow. dont have scales but hope to see a difference in myself.

Aria2015 · 25/07/2018 19:37

I'm on day two. I've done it properly once and lost 7lbs which isn't bad for a week. I weighed in the following week and I was still down 6lbs so can't have all been water weight. It's hard, seems like the longest week ever but I'm determined to stick to it. I can't do it again I'm very quick succession because it took me ages until I could face eggs again! Hate grapefruit but I'm blitzing it in the nutty bullet and just drinking it!
