Hi all,
I know there’s been threads on this before but I can’t find anything recent in this area.
I know this works as it’s worked for friends (male and female) who religiously so it every 4/5 months. You lose 6kilos in a week.
Anyone want to join me, starting tomorrow?
The rules and diet plan are here;

www.jaduncan.com/2006/04/how-i-lost-stone-in-week.html?m=1

The diet was designed by doctors to help people lose weight (a stone) in a week.. which I really really need as I’ve just started a new job (after 6 weeks off which meant I was bored and ate loads) as none of my dresses fit!!

Xx

It does sound nice. I would love poached eggs on toast right now.

Just about to have my fruit lunch and craving some warm soup.

No change on the scales this morning but a big change in my clothes which is strange.

Looking forward to fish tonight.

I hope your breakfast is all you dream it will be :)

It was truly amazing - dry toast with eggs has never tasted so good!!!

Feel weird today - hot and sweaty despite heating not being on. Tested my wee with a ketostix and it came back with the second strongest purple colour on the chart, so I am assuming something is happening?

Am really looking forward to my fruit later (for the sugar!). I am generally skipping the third meal of eggs and grapefruit, and just having 2 meals a day, as I struggle to eat eggs without toast.

No massive changes here yet - scales show me 1 kilo lighter so far. Hopefully will escalate!

Well done on your shape change! It's never important what you weigh I don't think, it's about how you look and feel, and how your clothes fit, so it sounds like you're making good progress Smile

I did this diet last year and got really good results - lost almost a stone. On day 5 today - I've been adding grated ginger to the salad to warm it all up a bit as salad is quite cold and uninviting on days like today - not sure how much it bends the rules but Ive still lost over half a stone so far..

Well I have failed miserably at sticking to the diet Grin but have managed to lose two pounds regardless through portion control instead so not spectacular in terms of results but edging closer. I’m thinking of re-starting on Sunday and seeing how I get on. We will see! Frustrating as I know it has worked for me before. I keep getting put off by the fruit element (other than grapefruit) for some reason but quite enjoy the steak, chicken etc. Currently waiting for a pizza to cook in the oven though.... HmmGrin

Florene - Keto flu maybe? This keto stuff is all new to me so I've been reading as much as I can, it's not something I think I could do long term but a week here and there maybe.

Astralabe - Grated ginger sounds lovely, I doubt it would make a difference but I don't really know for sure.

CalorieTowers - I imagine it's harder to do second time round as you know what it's like. I came into this quite naive and have struggled a LOT today.

It took me over half an hour to eat dinner tonight, I was pretty full after a few bites, first time I've not been hungry in the evening so pleased with that.

Is there any way I could do this diet if I don't like eggs 🤔

I can just about stomach an omelette or well cooked scrambled. Boiled eggs would be a huge no. I also hate bananas.

I don't like any fruit or veg so would just be egg, toast an meat 😐 I'd starve. Thinking of doing it though.

ILoveMrDarcy - I am not keen on eggs on their own (and hate grapefruit) so have been skipping the meals where it is just them on their own. But I can't see a problem with you scrambling the eggs instead of boiling them, as long as you don't add anything delicious to them like butter

Day 5 on the veggie version - today is going to be a good day!! Poached eggs, albeit only one slice toast today, then cottage cheese, tomatoes and avocado with flax seeds!

Well done Willow - 10 lbs is a fantastic result Flowers. Hope you are enjoying your day off!

Really enjoyed my dinner - think I will have it again even when this week is over.

Thank you. I did enjoy it although feeling extremely stuffed and couldn't eat half of what I normally would.

Final day for me today, scales today show a 0.5kg increase Shock but I'm not worried, as it's impossible for me to have gained weight this week!

Will see what scales show tomorrow. Just chewing on my spinach and eggs now..

Almost at the end of day 2, I am starving!!! I’m looking at my own dog like food, I hate lettuce so have been having toms, cucumber and pickles onions, also swapped the grapefruit for big oranges

5.5lbs/2.5kg loss for me. Not a stone, but better than if I'd not done it, and I now know I don't need to eat anything like as much as I did before.

Day 4 completed and so pleased a 1 .5 lb loss thats an amazing 5 1/2lbs in 4 days.
Before doing this I stuck to low calorie around 1300 calories for 3 weeks and no booze and didn't lose anything hence trying this crash diet as needed to lose at least 8 lbs before holidays and was running out of time. Yesterday's was the hardest day for me and felt hungry in the afternoon several times I was tempted to reach for something sweet but had water instead to curb the hunger. Can understand why people on the thread say it was the hardest day and some give up day 4 and 5.
Anyway yesterdays food
Breakfast : dry wholemeal toast
Lunch : berry fruit salad same fruits as yesterday
Tea : 2 boiled eggs and salad & red grapefruit. ( actually begining to enjoy red grapefruit!)
Over the moon with the loss to date Smile

Day 5 and 1/4 lb loss which is the least amount since starting money but still a total 6 .5 lbs in 5 days - won't be the guarenteed 14lb loss but wanted 8lb to 10lb loss when started so fingers crossed.
Breakfast dried toast , lunch berry fruit salad as listed on other days , tea scallop and prawn salad which was really lovely. Reflecting back not sure if when they stated fish it includes shellfish but it's what i had Smile
