It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Well donjon your 6lbs Sol Photos can be very harsh and don't really reflect how you look, just an angle.... But I'll join you in doing something drastic, I really want to lose a stone this month. I might do fasting for a week (starting next week), I want to lose 7lbs quickly.... Do you use primer? This helps keep shiny faces at bay.

Well done on your 8lbs rachey Did you have a good night out?
How are you green ?
I lost 2.5 lbs this week, taking my total to 8lbs.

Mum at school is trying to befriend me but we have absolutely nothing in common and I am finding it really hard work, conversation is difficult but she is very, very sensitive so I also don't want to be rude. She doesn't know many people in the area. Doesn't help, I have taken a dislike to her DH (no basis for this but he makes me feel wary). They invited us round one afternoon and the dynamics were very strange. In a nutshell I don't have much free time and when I do have some, I want to spend it with my friends/people I enjoy being with. But I also don't want to be unkind and I feel a bit sorry for her, awkward.....

Congratulations on your 2.5lbs Pom. You are a machine!

It can be so awkward when you aren’t vibing with someone and they’re pushing it. The way I look at it is that sometimes the only thing we have in common with other school Mums is that we have kids in the same class. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be best friends. I’ve made some lovely friends at my sons school, but other parents I’m on a nod and smile basis with.

I followed the James Duncan yesterday. I put on half a pound 🙈 What is wrong with me??!! I’m still following the plan today hoping that I’ll wake up 10lbs lighter tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a good day!

I woke up 6.5 lbs lighter this morning, I’m so happy with that. I was dreading getting on the scales. TOTM crept up on me this month but I’m hoping to stick to the plan and have a stone gone in February.

Hi everyone. Sorry for disappearing, I just could be bothered with anything when I had that horrible virus. Starting to feel better now though.

Well done on all your amazing losses.

I’ve lost 7lb in 2 weeks. WW is okay.

I’ll try to post more later. The house is such a mess, I’ve just concentrated on the basics while being poorly (DH also caught it, he’s not that lazy!)

Morning all,

I stayed the same this week, I didn't try hard enough to pull it back. Oh well. I'm going to try harder this week to stay within points.

Hope everyone is doing ok?

green 1/2 stone in 2 weeks is amazing, I hope you feel better soon.

sol how's the James Duncan going?

pom. how was your weigh in this week?

Are the kids having a good half term so far?

My parents have the kids for the weekend as we have a lot of sorting out. My sister whom was living with us since we moved in has moved out so we need to sort her room out and we are finally getting rid of the black shelving units in the lounge

Morning everyone.

Rachey, staying the same is good. How is DS1 doing now? It’s difficult to eat well when you are feeling stressed.
It must be weird to have to House to yourselves now? I would find it very difficult to live with another adult.

I was starting to feel better, the DC seem to have brought new germs home from school so half term isn’t going too well.
DD2 is really poorly. DD2 seems to be starting with something today. I feel sick. Such fun! Oh well it’s raining anyway.

I’ve been struggling with dieting over the last few days.

I’ve found that I’m having to plan more carefully about what food I’m going to have everyday. At the moment I just can’t be bothered and I was just snacking on random things yesterday.

How are you doing Sol? Is the new job still going well?

Are you okay Pom? How is it going with the school mum?
It must be difficult moving to a new area, but I agree that if you don’t feel comfortable then you should try to back away!
Maybe you could try to push her towards some other parents?
I’ve found that kids parties are normally quite good for socialising. She might make some friends once they’ve been to some?
I’ve never even met the Dads of the DDs best friends.

I find the whole school parents friendship thing quite bizarre to be honest.
(I do realise that I’m an antisocial grump)

Has anyone bought anything exciting recently? I’m avoiding clothes until the summer.
I’m thinking of getting some new glasses as a non-clothes reward. Also thing about getting some Adidas trainers? Not sure if I’m too old (but I want to relive 1995 Grin.

Hello all,
1/2 term hard going here. Managed not to console myself with chocolate today.

Amazing loss Green Sorry to hear about the sickness. It's much harder to eat well when sick/DC are off school.

Staying he same is good rachey Hope you managed to get your house stuff done.

How are you Sol ?

I lost 1lb this week. I'm going to try harder as I really can't be bothered with these piddly amounts.

I haven't bought anything Green there are a few things I want in Boden if I lose a stone (!).
Saw the mum on last day of school and was neutrally friendly. I'm a bit anti social too..... I think she's a bit isolated, she is very over protective of her DD and v v quiet. I think there's a story there.

What’s making half term difficult Pom?
My afternoon hasn’t gone well, so I’ve had pancakes and now I’m drinking wine (I’ve really cut down on it in the last month.) DD2 seems much better today though. I’m hoping we can go out tomorrow.

I’ve just ordered some jumpers from Sainsbury’s and a Levi’s jacket from asos. So I’m lying about avoiding clothes!
What do you like from Boden? I’ve just been sent a voucher for a return (no idea why as I paid with PayPal?)

Losing 1lb is great, I understand the frustration though.

I feel a little bit sorry for school Mum. The school yard has been one of my most stressful situations! (Still don’t think you have to be best friends with her)
At least you’ve avoided any half term meet ups.

Me too green but I don't think I feel sorry enough for her to give up my time Blush
I absolutely love time alone ! which is only really a few hours a week...

1/2 term - DC were bickering +++ today, they've also started to answer me back in a slightly rude way. I don't think we are good at setting boundaries. They quite demanding. I suggested lunch in M&S and DS said no I want to go to John Lewis and then said he wouldn't go anywhere! Mild stuff really, but a bit spoilt?? maybe normal for age? Not sure. I will be positive about tomorrow.

I can't link on this pc, but I really like a jumpsuit I have absolutely no need for and also not slim or tall enough to wear. 2 blouses and a jacket with 3/4 sleeves.
Apparently sainsburys have some great jeggings.

Enjoy your wine Smile

DC situation sounds just like ours. DD1 seems the same as your DS. I was wondering if it was an age thing (almost 7). I think I’m a very nice Mammy, but she’s been horrible to DD2 today. She’s lovely most of the time, but was so bored today (no bother at school). She been very angry when I’ve pulled her up on things. (DH is a hero to her) I’m thinking mine are also spoilt. It’s difficult though. They bicker a lot too.

I also have desires for jumpsuits!
I have many pairs of Sainsbury’s jeggings, they are great.

Just a quick........ I think there is something in the air as my dcs are constantly arguing and winding each other up these past week Angry

It might be an age thing Green I think are DC are pretty much the same age, DC are also very good at school/clubs. They have been good today (apart from a bit of not listening!) and I have given them lots of praise. They're now watching the Lego movie and so I'm doing to make dinner.

Have you seen the new stuff for Spring in Hush. I had stopped buying from there as hate the whole over ads with the bloggers and had a poor quality jumper, but there are a few nice things in there I might try.

Sorry to hear you DC are also in the club rachey !

I'm aiming for under 1200 cals, with a couple of 800 cal fast days.

Today's food:
Yogurt and berries, sprinkling of granola - 200 cals
Skinny chicken soup - 250 cals
Chicken curry - homemade, no carbs, just veg ? 300 cal
approx 10 cashew nuts - 100?

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Have you bought a dress yet Rachey?

Mine seem to love arguing, it’s hard work.

My DC were okay yesterday. But DD1 has had a love hate relationship with me today. Thankfully she put herself to bed quite early! We are supposed to be going to the shops tomorrow and she is desperate to go to Smiggle and spend her Christmas money. I think it might just be her age, I’ve seen far worse behaviour from her peers.

I’ve had a look at Hush Pom. The clothes look lovely. I always like the clothes in the catalogue. I don’t buy much as I also think it’s overpriced for the quality. I think you can often get the same sort of items elsewhere for less money.
The sales are good. I got a lambswool scarf and a lovely necklace last month.
I’ve enjoyed reading the blogger thread on S&B.

I’d lost another 1lb yesterday. I’ve tried to be good today but it’s not gone too well tonight. I’m going to have to be careful this weekend.
