It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Love the outfit Rachey. Hope it was an amazing weekend.

Pomegranatepompom · 26/07/2018 19:45

Fab outfit rachey !
Hope you are ok Sol?
How are you green?

I skipped my weigh in this week. Will weigh on Monday. Aiming for a strict weekend !

Racheyg · 26/07/2018 19:47

Thanks guys. I only intend on getting married once so thought I'd go all out. The outfit is now in the bin Grin

I'm getting very drunk in Brighton at the mo. Roll on Monday healthy eating time. Xx

Pomegranatepompom · 26/07/2018 20:13

Rachey you are having such a lovely time - enjoy !

Racheyg · 27/07/2018 21:16

Thanks pom

I have been very naughty and eaten soooo much. And have brought myself a few things

https://www.neverfullydressed.co.uk/products/jaspre-wrap-leopard

And
https://www.frenchconnection.com/product/7gjnd/patras-crepe-long-jumpsuit.htm?search_keywords=jumpsuits%20and%20playsuits

And have my eyes on a few more things. Someone please stop me Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 28/07/2018 09:15

Rachey you looked amazing! You're right to go all out, did you have a brilliant time? That leopard skirt is gorgeous, I'm currently debating ordering one as a goal skirt for Christmas. I love it.

We had a bit of a family emergency, one of my parents ended up in hospital due to a virus, it was very touch and go for 24 hours but thankfully they are on the mend. So my diet consisted of diet coke and snickers bars from the vending machine, but I don't care. I'll weigh in another day.

How are you getting on Green and Pom?

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 28/07/2018 09:21

How stressful Sol. Really puts things in perspective, don't put any pressure on yourself. So pleased they are improving.

Lovely clothes rachey. Definitely get the skirt Sol.

I've got a maxi dress on today, feel but chubby in it but I just need to wear the nice clothes I've got. I have tried quite hard this week.
X

Racheyg · 28/07/2018 10:44

Oh sol that must have been awful. How are things now. I know the nhs get so much stick but when I hear positive stories it really makes me happy.

You should do do it. I love a goal Grin

pom I bet you look great, we are all so critical on how we look.

green how are you getting on?

I'm starting 5:2 today, I really wanna do jd but I have so many social things the 5:2 is flexible. I know weight loss will be slower but I don't have a choice.

This morning I did my circuit class for 60 minutes. Burnt around 500 cals.

Breakfast - baked eggs in tomato sauce. - 222 cals

My fast days will be Tuesday and Thursdays. I really need to get back on track.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 28/07/2018 18:22

Thanks for all the kind words, my parent (trying to keep it vague) should be out in 2 weeks if they keep improving the way they are. So fingers crossed. It was horrendous but the doctors were great and the nurses are the kindest people I have ever met. It's not the NHS Rachey as I'm in Ireland, but a similar system. It's free if you are going public not private as we pay for it through our taxes.

I think I'll order that skirt. I have been thinking of it all day - surely a sign.

Pom let the sidewalk be your catwalk and start wearing all your lovely clothes. I wore heels to say because I felt like it and I'm basically a super model Grin

5:2 is a great idea Rachey, especially as it fits in with your life at the moment. You have to be able to live your life too.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 28/07/2018 18:32

sol oops sorry totally forgot. I'm so glad they are on the road to recovery it must be so scary for you guys.

Greenrabbit · 28/07/2018 19:40

Sounds like you’ve had an awful time Sol. I’m really pleased to hear that they are improving.
You need to buy the skirt. Impressed with your heel wearing.

Love the outfits Rachey. I think I’ll try 5:2 for the next fortnight. I want to do something strict but we are having a long weekend break soon and I have a diet in mind that I want to focus on when we get back.

I bet you looked lovely in your maxi dress Pom. You are too hard on yourself. Keep wearing your nice clothes and enjoy them.

I really want to buy clothes now Grin.
To my shame I had a bra fitting today. Last time I had one I was pregnant Blush. Bagged up all the ancient bras and took them to bravissimo for recycling. I had actually been wearing the right size but I’m pleased to have some nice new bras that aren’t from Sainsbury’s!

Racheyg · 30/07/2018 09:41

How did the bra fitting go green I desperately need new ones. What made you choose bravissimo?

It would be great to support each other on 5:2 I'm tracking everything on my fitness pal.

pom how was ur weekend?

sol how are you doing? Is parent doing well?

I'm wearing my new coral jumpsuit with wedges today, I forgot how tough it is walking with a height Grin plus it's so bloody muggy my hair is a mess.

I'm struggling to decide what to do this weekend? It's my birthday on Saturday and my parents want us to go down to them, but we have used so much petrol recently it's costing us a fortune. But the plus side the kids will have fun......argh what shall I do?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/07/2018 15:08

Oh Green new underwear is always great, even just for your posture and sorting out your silhouette. Did you buy loads? I always come out with armfuls. Good luck with 5:2.

Does MFP have an app Racey? I would use it if it did, I can't bear firing up the laptop every evening. Your just.psuit is gorgeous, I forgot to say as I was too busy looking at the skirt 😁

The weather has cooled down here, it's lovely. Still warm and sunny in the day time but the nights are much cooler so everyone is getting some sleep. I feel so refreshed. I've started getting my eating back on track, this week I plan to avoid eating in the evening, which is my downfall.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 30/07/2018 18:38

Argh I have so over eaten today I feel like I'm about to explode

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/07/2018 19:40

Ah don't explode Rachey imagine the mess. What did you eat today?

I downloaded the MFP app and I have put together a plan to get to 13 stone by Christmas. 2lbs a week, 1400 or so cals a day and a feeling of quiet optimism that I will get somewhere.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 30/07/2018 20:46

Sol Really hope your parent continues to improve and they are able to be discharged soon. I also love positive hospital stories, the negative stuff always seems to overtake good care.
Hope you ordered the skirt? Get you wearing heels! I rarely do now. Good to see your optimism. I think we could be skinny for this Christmas... Grin I'm trying not to eat after 8/8.30pm.

Well done on the bra's Green when are planning to do your fast days? Are you going somewhere nice?

rachey I think you should go to your parents, enjoy all the social stuff and your new clothes!

Racheyg · 31/07/2018 08:56

sol thanks, yes the mess would have been awful. I hate courses at work as it's so good based, hence the over eating.

Glad you downloaded Mfp I find it really helps.

It's a fast day today. I'm armed with a banana and stir fry veg with miso soup. Will eat the banana later today maybe before my spin class?

pom that's a good plan not eating after 8/8.30 I would like be to be skinny before 13th October Grin failing that if my dress fits so I don't care GrinGrin. I don't know why I'm worried about a little bit of petrol? I just feel that with the wedding I'm so used to worrying about the pennies. Can't wait for it to be over tbh, I can stop worrying about money and weight Grin

Oh and by the way, I can't wear heels Grin but I got a lot of compliments on my coral jumpsuit

Greenrabbit · 31/07/2018 10:11

Morning everyone.
I’m so unfocused at the moment. Cant seem to get anything properly organised.
I haven’t done anything about 5:2 yet. I have Exante products so I think I’ll try to use one of those on a fast day and make one meal with real food.
We are going to N. Yorkshire Pom. My happy place (Betty’s and Booths helps Grin)

The bra fitting was fine Rachey. I hate trying stuff on especially with someone helping, but the fitters are helpful and professional.
I just went there because it was the only place I’d tried before in Newcastle (and I knew they took the old bras to recycle).

I’ve been to Debenhams before and they were good. Plus they often have money off.

I only bought 2 bras in the shop Sol. Ordered 3 more from Debenhams (in the sale!).

Our weather has improved too. I can actually blow dry my hair without my head sweating 😅.

I think you should go to your parents too Rachey. It might be more relaxing if you have extra adults to help with the DC and feel more like a break?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 31/07/2018 13:10

Thanks Pom, the nurses and doctors have been lovely, I couldn't fault them and they all seem under such pressure. We've been bringing up chocolates and sweets for them when we come in as they are run ragged.

So I've started on MFP today. Even last night I was thinking ahead and planning better meals for myself so I can make the most of my calories. I think I will take a before picture later and then at Christmas I can see how far I've come. I'm so determined. Thanks for the MFP tip.Rachey

I haven't ordered the skirt as I need to wait for DH to get paid. He doesnt like it but I think with black tights, black knee high boots and a fitted black top it would be amazing.

Fasting didn't go well today. Im tired and irritable.
Just weighed myself I'm 10st 11 wtf ????

Racheyg · 31/07/2018 21:05

I thought you were meant to lose weight before your wedding? Blush

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/08/2018 00:27

What weight would you like to be the day of your wedding Rachey? In some ways the number on the scale means nothing, how do you feel when you look in the mirror? I didn't really lose weight before my wedding because I'm an emotional eater and it's a stressful time. I felt great on the day. Unless you can commit to a super strict diet you may need to relax a bit. You need to live and enjoy this special time in the run up to your wedding, dieting is just putting you under more pressure.

I have no words of wisdom or magical strict diet that won't leave you ravenously hungry and prone to self sabotage - but you looked beautiful in the pics you posted of your dress and you looked fab on your hen weekend, stop beating yourself up. I bet the soon-to-be Mr. Rachey isn't as stressed as you about his weight. My Husband was so laid back in the run up to our wedding, it was an eye opener to see how differently we handled the expectation of how we would both look on the day.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/08/2018 11:29

Day 1 of MFP was grand. Everytime I looked at a packet of crisps or a biscuit and totted up the calories - I didn't eat them. I even had enough for a Gin and tonic in the evening but I definitely felt I was being kept in line, I even got a shitty red message for going over my salt allowance, damn pickles.

On to day 2 today, fingers crossed it goes well.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 02/08/2018 10:17

I agree with everything Sol says about wedding dieting.
I feel it put me on a terrible path of crash dieting and binge eating.

Just keep exercising and eating healthily most of the time. Don’t put loads of pressure on yourself. Your dress fits you. Enjoy the run up and don’t worry so much.

Well done on the MFP Sol. I hope yesterday went well.
