It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Rachey can you look at the pics and try and find some positives? Sometimes all we look at are the negatives. Maybe have a google on how to pose, there are loads of websites that give you tips on how to turn your body and things not to do to make your pictures look great. The JD diet is fab, I just used tofu and quorn steaks and saw great results.

Pom I'm the same with treats, mostly because I don't know when to stop. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older or what, but carbs are definitely the enemy. How are you managing running in this heat?

Thanks for all the offers of help for my outfits, I am in a style rut. I've tried on a few jumpsuits but a combination of longish body, big boobs and gigantic arse make me look like Fat Elvis. I have a waist but my boob's can make me look much bigger unless the top is quite structured. I won't go shopping until Thursday next week in the vain hope that I lose weight.

I think the reason the group of people don't really like me is that we're very different, they were big in to partying and taking fucktons of drugs whereas that's not my scene. So when DH got together with me he stepped back a bit and I got all the heat for it all. They've all calmed down now, but resentment still lingers.

Maybe I'll just get drunk and message you all from the corner of the party Grin

I gave an all saints leather and whistles leather. I know they are worth the money but oh won't see it that way Grin

I love all saints but never pay full price always get in the sale

Had a tofu salad for lunch. Desperately had to avoid the lady in the shop giving out free cake samples.

I can't see the jacket Rachey. I keep getting redirected to the Irish site. I love a well cut leather jacket, they can be so chic.

It's my dream jacket. I have attached one of the pictures from my test shoot. Sad

You have a Moschino belt, I'm so jealous!
You do not look huge at all! I love the pics, what are the bits you dislike? Would you be happier in a different outfit?
You are being so hard on yourself. You look lovely.

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 13:30

You don't look at all big. I think the pockets in the dress are stuck out a bit so it makes you look a bit bulkier than you are. However, you are not big, legs and arms are lovely and slim. If you are really unhappy with photos, can you get them taken again?

Also get the jacket and don't listen to anything OH says. I expect he has nice treats/expensive hobbies etc

Well done on your salad Sol and for avoiding cake. Definitely message us ! People are silly, I'm sure your DH decided to step back of his own free will .

Ok so we need something to show off your waist. How about a 50's style dress with heels and possibly a little bolero cardy?

Bit like this:
www.vivienofholloway.com/women-c70/dresses-c10/nazare-dress-c204

Running definitely harder in the heat, Sunday only managed 15 minutes but did 25 today.
I can feel a strict 2 weeks coming my way, just not sure what yet....

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 14:11

ok so I want a jump suit which means I need to lose weight, mainly from my waist. I'm now going to start logging my food on Fitbit.

Racheyg · 26/06/2018 15:13

pom I never shop in Debenhams but I was looking at their website and they have some really nice ones in. So do Asos.

Happy shopping.

I'm going to run my leather jacket idea past oh. Fingers crossed.

He is very low maintenance his only expenses are beer and the trainers Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 26/06/2018 15:44

Rachey do you need the jacket as part of your wedding outfit??? Possibly clutching at straws but you said a leather jacket woukd go with your dress, so you'd have to get it.

Pom that dress is gorgeous. As are loads of bits on that website, I have book marked it so I can have a proper look when the kids are in bed. I envy you being able to wear jumpsuits, they had lively ones in New Look but they weren't long enough for me to wear with heels.

I'm out the back watching the kids play in the paddling pool, it's feckin amazing weather.

sol I'm jealous, I'm rammed through n a hot tube at the moment.

I hate my stomach, I bulges out in everything that I wear. No matter how much exercise I do it's still there.

Thanks for the jd info. I'm going to start it next Wednesday when I'm back from peppa pig world. Plan is to do 1 week on 1 week off 1 week on. And see how I go.

Asos have a great talk range. Have a butchers Grin

pom hats off to you running in this heat. I couldn't. Happy jumpsuit shopping, I'm still trying to think off some other pros for owning the leather jacket Grin

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 20:01

I definitely wouldn't feel confident in a jumpsuit at the moment, need to lose some tummy weight ! Hope you find something gorgeous to wear Sol

Jacket - part of honeymoon wardrobe rachey ? I'll take a look at your suggestions.

How are you green ?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 26/06/2018 20:53

I hope the tube wasn't too bad Rachey. I've only been on the tube a few times at rush hour and it was grim, have you a long commute?

Have you had a look at those body wraps that suck in your stomach for 24 hours? My friend did one and looked great in a dress she was wearing to a wedding. Have you extra skin or is it fat? I have a c-section overhang thing and it's not pretty, it gives my stomach a box-like/square look at the bottom if I'm not careful.

I'm browsing debenhams at the moment Pom, my last pay cheque is coming in on Weds and I can't wait. I predict I will be broke by Thursday Grin

pom do you like sleeves or no sleeves?

Racheyg · 26/06/2018 21:36

sol I think it's fat. Doesn't feel empty like loose skin I think it's all down to diet but I like food far too much to not eat Sad

Racheyg · 27/06/2018 08:15

Guys, oh dismissed the leather jacket. He thinks we have too much to pay out for already, and I already have 3 leather jackets Sad but none with tassels SadSadSad

I'm not doing exante today. I'm armed with fruit and veg and I'm gonna stop stressing have a great week and then next Wednesday get my head down and do the jd. Grin

Racheyg · 27/06/2018 08:17

Hope you all have a great day.

I'm wearing my m&s jumpsuit today, but I need to wear my blazer at work due to my tattoos. Angry it's going to be another scorcher today. I just wish I was free to wear what I want.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 27/06/2018 09:51

Aw Rachey that sucks about the jacket, sometimes we have to miss out on beautiful things though. And I'd say paying for the wedding is what he's thinking about. Stupid sensible man.

Would you use a cover up make up for your tattoos for a few weeks while it's so hot? I love my tattoos do I know how annoying it is to be forced to cover them. Sadly I don't get a chance to show mine off anymore as they are on my back and lower torso, and my days of revealing tops are long gone.

Evening all! I'm down staying in my friends mobile home (her parents have 2, side by side in a lovely site) so she's in one with her kids and I'm in one with mine. It's heaven. We meet in the middle with the kids and sit in the sun. There's a beach that's about 10 mins walk away so we plan to go there tomorrow for the day, I only arrived about 4 hours ago so a bit late to head down.

The mobile home is nicer than several apartments I've lived in and is massive with lots of room for the kids and all their crap and a decent kitchen. My friend is on Slimming world and I'm on JD so we're going to try and avoid crisps and chocolate but maybe have a few glasses of wine in the evening.

DH couldn't make it because of work, but I'm only here for a day or so, so he'll be rotting in front of the World Cup for the next while. I can't wait til the football is over, I hate it.

I hope everyone had a good day.

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 27/06/2018 21:24

Hope you get something nice with your last pay check Sol and enjoy your break - sounds blissful (well apart from not being able to eat crisps etc).

Sorry the jacket. Do you get money for birthdays/Christmas? any chance you could advance buy then put the money back?

Link your jumpsuit from today please! Shame you have to wear a cover up. The links you posted went through to the general site? I'd definitely needs sleeves, hate my arms....

Think had 900 cals today.

Racheyg · 28/06/2018 09:19

sol have a great time. Some of the best times are in places like that. Yes I agree so mobiles are smarter than some flats I've lived in too.

My mum and dad own a caravan which is only 2 years old. It's pretty swish I think they prefer it to their house Grin

No wouldn't use make up. I just have to wear sleeves in (very) hot days while at work. It's a shame my boss can't move with the times but I understand it's not right for a professional role.

pom I am so crap at doing links. There are too many nice (and not so nice) clothes out there. I will take s pic of me wearing jumpsuit. It's about 2 years old

Just about to do my spin class.......I'm really not feeling it today

SolitudeSometimesIs · 28/06/2018 11:01

How was your spin class Rachey? I don't blame you for not wanting to cover up your tattoos, it's a shame your boss isn't more accommodating, it's not like you have anything offensive.

This holiday is fab Pom. I'm going home late tonight so the kids can go to their last day of school tomorrow. We're down at the beach now and the kids are splashing around. I'm adding a mobile home to the my list of things I want.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 28/06/2018 12:57

sol class was really good thanks burnt over 600 cals. Felt really good.

Glad your having a great time. We're about us the mobile home? It's even better as the sun is out.

I'm just getting waxed at the moment then treating myself to a spray tan. I want to look good at my cousins wedding. My sisters is a stone lighter than me so I feel I have to up the ante with my looks GrinGrin

Greenrabbit · 28/06/2018 18:23

I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!

I’m trying to do some more decluttering in the house before school breaks up. Which is quite silly during a heatwave (it’s too hot to sit out during the day though)

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/06/2018 10:18

I'm admiring your ability to get waxed and type Rachey Grin, that's lovely that you're getting some pampering. When is the wedding? The mobile is in Wicklow, right on the coast. I got back at 10 last night, we had a great time. We're thinking of going down again soon.

How is the Decluttering going Green? When do your kids break up from school? It's so hot isn't it. I just bought some new nightwear as I can't sleep in my pj's anymore.

I had a weigh in this morning and since Monday I have lost 6lbs! And that's with me having wine in the evenings so I'm really happy with that. I feel great and my stomach has flattened down and my face is thinner. I'm definitely going to stick with this plan and try to ditch carbs in general, they clearly don't agree with me.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 29/06/2018 11:43

Hi from Plymouth.

green well done on the de cluttering. Fancy coming round mine? Grin

sol well done on 6lbs loss. That's great that you can still have some wine aswell Grin

pom how are you doing?

My cousins wedding is tomorrow, we're enjoying the sites of Plymouth, then hopping on a ferry to Cornwall and I have a great big pasty for lunch Smile
