It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

sol I'm going to join you in the solar system. I actually look pregnant and I can even say I look bloated my tummy is sticking out from the top near my bra strap to my pants Blush

Glad you have had a great time sol you deserve it. X

Racheyg · 24/06/2018 21:04

Lego land is awesome...... but so busy. Took 1hr to get out of the car park

SolitudeSometimesIs · 24/06/2018 21:27

Was Legoland worth it though Rachey? I think my boys would love it but I can't justify the flights and stuff.

I'm obscenely fat. However, I will get my shit together from tomorrow. I swear!

So today is the tomorrow I was talking about yesterday. I'm sticking to 30 points today, in this heat it is very unpleasant to be this big and my fashion choices inevitably mean some sort of arm cover up, so I'm wearing layers.

We have been invited to a surprise birthday party in 3 weeks time with people I don't really see so much, so I really need to look good. I was about 2 stone lighter the last time I saw most of them Blush

I might try some sort of panic diet closer to the date, but for the next two weeks it will be weight watchers and hopefully some of the weight will slide off.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the amazing weather.

sol we can support each other in panic dieting. Wow you have a busy social calendar coming up, I'm sure a few pounds will drop off.

I'm doing exante 3 meals a day till Wednesday. I'm then off to Plymouth for a family wedding so I know diet will go out the window. Then peppa pig world Monday and Tuesday.

I've seen a leather jacket in all saints im desperate for, but we're so tight on money at the moment I can't justify it. Sad

I wish this wedding would come and go. I'm fed up of watching the pennies.

Greenrabbit · 25/06/2018 09:40

I feel your pain Sol. I normally try to wear a cardigan/jacket on the school run but it’s just too HOT! I have back sweat already.

I hope your propoints goes well today. At least it’s salad weather?

Didn’t go back to the Doctors. Tonsils are still sore with the odd white spot. I didn’t want to take anymore antibiotics.

Anyway the diet diet went off the rails (as always).
Starting again today.
Going to start Exante next week.

I was 2 lighter 2 years ago and thought I was enormous then.
I just need to stop feeling sorry for myself and move on with it all.

Good luck with the Exante Rachey. Legoland sounds amazing, glad you all had a good weekend.
I also look pregnant. DD2 keeps kissing my stomach when she comes out of school. I’m sure everyone must think that I’m going to turn up with a newborn soon Blush.

Hope all is well with you too Pom.

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 15:47

Argh I'm so hungry

SolitudeSometimesIs · 25/06/2018 15:58

Rachey our social life has been very busy, I hate it, I'm so antisocial but DH is one of those people with loads of friends. You sound like you've lots on at the moment too. Could you pack some Exante to bring with you so you could shave a few cals off your day by having a breakfast shake or something? Good luck in Peppa Pig world, that sounds like actual hell.

Oh Green the sweating is rubbish isn't it? I bought a few kimonos in New Look and even though it probably looks like I'm in my dressing gown at least theyre light. I was 2 and a half stone lighter three years ago. And yes, I thought I was fat then too. It's miserable. Your tonsillitis sounds awful, do you think you're run down?

I've stuck to plan so far and did some cardio (traipsing around New Look Grin). Maybe I just needed a week off after finishing work to go a bit wild. But I feel a bit more like I will stick to it, there's a glimmer of motivation.

Is anyone else finding that their kids can't sleep in this weather? My two were up a lot last night and so uncomfortable. I filled a spray bottle with water and I keep spritzing them with it when we're in the car, it's so refreshing.

Pomegranatepompom · 25/06/2018 16:34

I'm fat too. It's miserable- back later.

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 18:51

Well I lasted till 14.00 then ate 4 rice cakes with cream cheese and 1 with peanut butter Angry

I hate feeling hungry Sad

SolitudeSometimesIs · 25/06/2018 20:13

That can't be too bad Rachey. Can you calculate the calories and just add it to the total, so give yourself a limit of 1000 per day or something if you go off plan? I used to have high protein snacks in my fridge on Exante, a few packs of smoked tofu, some quorn slices or tofu I had marinated and roasted and cut in to chunks - it was better to stuff myself with protein rather than carbs. I know all my options are vegetarian but you know what I mean.

I stuck to plan all day and felt the better for it, not physically but mentally, like I was breaking a barrier I had in my head. But DH rang and said the party is in 2 weeks not 3 and I'm freaking out. I know it's my vanity talking but I'm very insecure at the moment about my weight and the thought of going freaks me out.

So I'm wondering should I just go James Duncan for 2 weeks and hope it works or try weight watchers for one week and JD for one? I realistically need to lose about 18lbs to walk in there with any confidence in myself. Gah! It's so annoying.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 25/06/2018 21:07

sol the jd worked for you didn't it? And you didn't feel too restricted? I say do it. Can you treat yourself to a new outfit? Or jazz up an old dress?

Well done for your will power today. I've been so thirsty aswell and water is just blurgh tasting today.

I agree with the kids not sleeping both ds still up, they have also turned into absolute monsters my mummy's boy bs2 has gone awol as started with temper tantrums throwing stuff ect I want my little baby back. I don't remember ds1 like this.

pom & green it sounds like we're all in the same boat.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 25/06/2018 21:51

I'm so hungry. Proper hungry. I've come upstairs to hide from the food.

JD worked the last time, I just scrolled back up and re-read my old posts. I'm going to go for it for 2 weeks. The people at this party don't really like me, DH was the first of the group to settle down and have kids and somehow the blame for this has been laid at my feet. And as a result I feel very intimidated going to this party. But I can't not go. The man whose birthday it is is one of this groups Dads and he's lovely, I just have the fear.

Oh Rachey, how old is your DS2? Or did you mean that he's 2? It's so hard when they turn in to independent, screaming lunatics isn't it? We're coming out the other side of it with DS2 who is 4, he's a joy most days, but still has that streak where he can be a pain in the arse. I found the best thing to do is be really firm from the start and hope to God they grow out of it quickly.

Can you drink dilute if water is tasting weird? It might see you through. I usually get a lime one and mix it with soda water, it's so refreshing.

Oh and I will be getting a new outfit for this party, I'm not sure what style, but I will be scrubbing up good Grin

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 22:04

sol I might join you on the jd diet when I get back from peppa pig.

What do you eat instead of steak and lamb?

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 22:08

sol I've just eaten two slices of toast. Sad I'm a mess!!

Ds2 is 3 I want him to be my little baby again

Pomegranatepompom · 25/06/2018 22:27

Do James Duncan Sol. You'll be so pleased with yourself. I'll do a virtual outfit shop for you. Could you pull of a jumpsuit? The friends sound a bit nuts to blame you for your DH settling down !

rachey rice cakes/toast aren't too bad. Glad you enjoyed Legoland. I think we have moved out of the appeal Peppa pig world (although not sure DD knows it exists).

Green sorry your tonsils are still bad, you poor thing. We need a plan !

We do all seem to be in a miserable dieting boat.

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 22:31

Ohh yes sol I reckon a jumpsuit would look amazing on. And they are so versatile I love them.

pom what style did you have in mind? ASOS have some great ones in the sale that would look awesome with wedged sandals

Pomegranatepompom · 25/06/2018 22:37

I'm not sure I could, although I'd like to, I'm not that tall and an apple shape - fab !

I think Sol is quite tall? so probably much more able to swish about it one. I quite like the wide legged ones?

Racheyg · 25/06/2018 22:37

This style is very flattering. Please share your outfit ideas xx

Pomegranatepompom · 25/06/2018 22:48

Rachey - just remembered meant to pm you re house. Will do now - although still undecided !

Racheyg · 26/06/2018 08:09

pom I'm only 5ft 4 and apple. I find it's all about the cut, I have a nice culottes one from m&s has good fit top and then wide legs. - although I might think I look good but in truth it might look awful Grin

The worst thing about this weather is that I have tattoos so have to keep covered up AngryAngry(work hate them)

I'm wearing cropped trousers from all saints, the cut makes me look pregnant but I'm so bloody hot I would rather look fat than sweaty.

I'm so annoyed by the school, they have only given us 10 days notice for sports day, it's tough getting time off work as is. I'm sure they know way in advance.

Yesterday was a carb central......toast, rice cakes, crackers.

Going to attempt exante x 2 then a salad. I can't do it 3 x a day I end up pigging out.

sol you are going to look amazing at this party, screw the others they a prob jealous you have a great marriage.

I'm so gonna do jd diet. I actually like all the food. I just don't really eat red meat so will try a sub that for chicken or turkey.

green* how are you getting on?

I have about 7 Indian rice exante if anyone wants them. I'm not a fan.

Racheyg · 26/06/2018 08:14

We had a test shoot a few weeks ago and the phctuers came back. I look huge. I'm gutted. Sad

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 08:52

Rachey - I can't believe you look huge. In all the photos you have put on here, I truly think you look very slim. You're far too critical of yourself. I know you are/will look lovely Flowers

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 08:55

I don't know if I am desperate enough to do exante again Grin I weighed in and I've put on 1/2 lb my really grown up plan is to ignore this.... I've come to the horrific realisation that o can't have any treats at all if I want to lose weight.:...

I think I'll try some jump suits rachey - I'm about a stone bigger than you I think though. Weight this morning was 11.4 😡

Pomegranatepompom · 26/06/2018 10:39

Very annoying re sports day - agree schools don't consider working parents enough.
Hope you're not too hot, especially if getting the tube.

I haven't got anything from all saints - will have a browse later. How much is the jacket you want ?
