It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Did you have a good night sol it's so tough having a night out while dieting. Well done for sticking to vodka and avoiding the shots.

I have no idea but I always seem to do it, it's like one step forward and two back. And to top it off I forgot my exante and I'm away at my parents. I have already eaten a toasted cheese and tomsto sandwich, 4 chocolate biscuits and huge bag of crisps Blush

Racheyg · 28/04/2018 22:00

Oh shit......I have drunk a bottle and half of red wine, and had pasta and garlic bread for dinner Blush

SolitudeSometimesIs · 29/04/2018 08:24

MY weekend fell to shit too Rachey. A friend came over with a takeaway and a bottle of wine, safe to say I won't be weighing in until Friday. I'm so weak at the weekend, especially when the food and wine is brought to me Grin

Are you back at your parents house for a while? Hopefully a weekend off plan won't cause too much damage. I also really want a cheese and tomato toasties now.

Dieting is so bloody boring sometimes and we have to live a bit too. I'm currently trying to drag my kids out of bed so we can go for a walk, they are having none of it.

Sounds like you had great weekends Rachey and Sol Grin

Anyone up for a strict Mon-Fri?
I've been pretty rubbish, have been running but need to stop eating ...

Racheyg · 29/04/2018 21:44

sol your weekend sounds amazing, it's great to catch up with friends. What take away did your friend bring round?

Did you manage to go for a walk? I wish I had to drag my dcs out....... it's the other way round here Grin

Just at my parents for Saturday and Sunday, they live in Kent on the coast and the kids love it there. But they can behave quite badly as they are used to getting spoilt by them.

I cannot believe I managed to drink so much, it was my fave wine, Malbec it went down very well. I even managed to stay up and watch overboard which I have never seen before and loved.

This weekend has been awful food wise. I have ordered more exante and I'm really gonna get my head down. pom yes I agree a strict non - fri is s great idea.

How are you finding the running?

Racheyg · 30/04/2018 09:17

Right guys here is my plan (if I can stick to it Grin)
3 x exante Monday - Thursday
2 x exante Friday - Sunday with 1 low carb meal

I'm really going to try my hardest these next few weeks.

Today's exciting meal plan

Breakfast - vanilla shake with coffee
Lunch - ham and mushroom pasta soup
Dinner - Indian style rice

Will be drinking lots of water and I have 1x oxo cube and a can of Diet Coke.

I don't get home till 7/7.30 and it's oh turn to put the boys to bed. I have set myself a list of jobs to stop me from eating.

I need to re hand my curtains in the lounge and tighten them up. And iron some school shirts. I will try and head to bed for 10ish

Racheyg · 30/04/2018 09:18

Hope everyone had a great day. Please don't feel the need to reply to my ramblings it helps writing them down Grin

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/04/2018 16:00

Ha! I enjoy your ramblings Rachey.

Having loads to do is a great idea, I did a massive clean of the upstairs of my house this morning in a bid to keep out of the kitchen. I also paint my nails some nights so I can't eat or I'll smudge them. A weekend at the coast sounds lovely, did you go to the beach a lot?

Pom I'm definitely on for a strict week. My trousers feel tight today after a weekend of sheer piggery.

My friend brought takeaway from the muti cuisine place near her house. So we had a selection of Indian and Chinese starters, loads of rices, dips, breads, salads and a few Indian main courses and a big platter of Moroccan food (she brought that from work), there was so much I was still eating it yesterday. To be fair there were supposed to be two other people coming but their 3 year old brought home a sickness bug and they couldn't face food.

So needless to say I Am bloated to bits and have probably undone all my hard work. So it's Exante for breakfast and dinner here and then a big salad/protein heavy lunch. I find it easier to stick to if I have my bigger meal in the middle of the day.

Good luck this week everyone.

sol that food sounds amazing all of my fave foods Grin it's crazy how our bodies react when we have been so strict then had a day off plan. I'm the same, I'm heavily bloated today.

We did go to the seaside but the weather wasn't great so went to the arcades and then had ice cream.

What do you have for your protein heavy meal? I'm loving the quorn pieces at the moment I spice them up and add some butternut squash to bulk out my salads.

I have managed to avoid any snacks and had my 2x exante meals, needless to say I'm starving and I've promised oh mixed bean chilli for dinner which is my fave Sad

Greenrabbit · 30/04/2018 21:02

You are both doing so well. Your weekends sound fun as well.

I’m still struggling to get a grip of things. I tried to prepare more meals last week. It went quite well until the weekend. Not feeling very positive at the moment though.

Racheyg · 01/05/2018 08:17

Hi green sorry your not feeling very positive. It's a struggle getting into the right frame of mind (as u can tell from my ramblings) does it help talking about it?

I caved last night and had 4 cream crackers with peanut butter Blush

Racheyg · 01/05/2018 09:03

I doubt will make it to the gym tonight. Oh not well again and he struggles with the boys when not well.

Meal plan
Breakfast - vanilla shake with coffee (sol I love you for this tip)

Lunch - pasta carbonara

Dinner - Indian rice

I have to stay strong and avoid snacking.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/05/2018 11:55

Sorry you're not feeling too good Green. I think weekends are always a bit of a tough one, I always fall off the wagon. What have you been making for meal prep? I'm useless at getting things made ahead.

Rachey you can do today, it will be tough but you will be so happy you did it tomorrow. I make huge salads with 3 quorn fillets, baby leaf bag of salad, tomatoes, red onion, beetroot and Pickles. It sounds gross but it's a huge bowl and I'm stuffed after.

I went shopping for Summer clothes todaybas we are going away soon. I will not be going again without having mynhair done and my make up on. I felt like a grotesque bag lady when I looked in the mirror. However, I brought two sizes of everything with me in to the changing room (a 16 and 18) And tried on each one. I just ignored the sizes and focused on which looked better. So I came away with lots if bit and pieces and I feel it was a successful morning. I never feel positive after shopping, usually I'm depressed, but I'm OK now.

I had Exante noodles for breakfast and plan another pack for lunch, then quorn and stuff for dinner. I'm on the countdown to going away so I need to focus. I weighed myself this morning and only put on a pound over the weekend. Woo-hoo!

Pomegranatepompom · 01/05/2018 15:03

Sorry you are struggling Green Anything we can help with? Be kind to yourself. Maybe concentrate on being healthy? Do you need any treats to help lift your mood?

Good news re clothes Sol What did you get?
Good luck with exact today rachey I agree with Green you re both being so good.

I haven't lost an ounce of my 7lbs Blush I am still running though. I' now up to 4km in 28 mins which I think is quite slow. I'm aiming to get up to 5km and then work on speed.
I need to stop eating rubbish, I think I'll give myself until the end of May to lose the 7lbs. I'd then like to lose 7lbs in June and then will reassess.

Enjoy the sun Smile

Pomegranatepompom · 01/05/2018 15:03

Great to only put on a lb, your weekend sounded fab !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/05/2018 17:31

4K is amazing Pom. I wouldn't be able to run that at all. Do you feel like you're toning up instead of losing weight? It just might take a while for changes to show on the scales. Are you on a treadmill or on the road?

I got some t shirts in Penneys, some trousers and tops in H&M and a gorgeous floor-length summer dress in New Look. I also treated myself to new Summer palette eyeshadows and a cheap and cheerful Penneys perfume.

I made it through the day on Exante and Quorn but I'm going to try and hunt down some tofu. TOTM is approaching so that might be why I'm so bloated. It'll be done by holiday time though so I'll stick to plan.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 01/05/2018 19:28

sol are the quorn fillets nice? We eat the pieces a lot and oh likes the burgers and sausages. It does t sound gross that's my kind of salad I love pickles n stuff.

Sounds like a good shopping trip. When are you off on your holibobs? Great idea about ignoring the sizes. They are different in ever shop, H&M are the worst they are so tiny.

Well done on only 1lb it's good to know that a little bit of something nice doesn't hurt Grin

pom hats off to you for running 4K I'm hopeless at running. That's a great idea to build up the working on your pace, do you have an app or something?

I caved again and had 3 rice cakes with peanut butter BlushOk had a cheeky mid week weigh in. I'm still 10st 3lb I'm shocked as I really did go ott over the weekend.

Just sitting on my spin bike waiting for my class to start. Wish me luck as not feeling it today

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/05/2018 20:08

Have a good time in your class Rachey. That's fab that you haven't put on loads of weight after your weekend off plan, sometimes are body can surprise us as well as horrify us Grin

We are heading off in a week and a half. I can't wait to get away with the kids for a bit. It's been really hectic for the last few months and time speeds along so fast, The boys aren't babies anymore and I can't believe how fast they are growing.

I've become a bit obsessed with a show called Unveiled on Netflix. It's about brides who get a ton of plastic surgery before their wedding day, it's madness and so over the top. If you're looking for some trashy telly, it's well worth a watch.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 02/05/2018 08:29

Thanks sol class was great felt really energised once finished.

Is it half term in Ireland? You 4 will have a great time. This year seems to be zooming by, can't believe my "baby" will be 3 in a few weeks.

I would love to go on that show Grinis it American?
I don't want too much done, just tummy tuck and boob job Grin

I did pick on some chicken last night but that can't be too bad? Can it?

Today
Shake for breakfast
Sweet and sour noodles for lunch
I'm out tonight so I will try and have a salad

SolitudeSometimesIs · 02/05/2018 11:30

It's not midterms in Ireland, but you can take kids out of school here without any hassle, we just send in a note saying we're going on holiday.

The show is Australian, but it is so funny that the ones that get the crazier procedures regret them and some of it is much more psychological than feeling better after having the surgery.

That's great that you felt better after the class last night. I was in bed early, I'm getting so old. I'm in work now and I'm just not motivated to do anything today.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/05/2018 10:03

Having a really bad time today, I'm so sick of eating crap but I feel so tired and so lethargic today, I've so much to do and I just feel a bit overwhelmed. I need to get my shit together.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 03/05/2018 11:51

Sorry you’re feeling like that Sol. Could it be linked to PMT?

That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling this week. Monday/Tuesday were really bad, then my period started (early) and the mood is slowly lifting.
It’s not like this most months, but every so often it causes such a low mood.

Having so much to do doesn’t help does it? I want to press pause this week just to feel like I’ve achieved something.

I hope you start to feel better soon, could you get out for a quick walk? That sometimes makes me feel better.

Racheyg · 03/05/2018 17:02

sol sorry your not feeling so great about things at the moment. No one warns you how mentally and physically draining life can be. Feel free to chat away on here, might make you feel better?

green how's your week going? Have things started to improve?

pom are you ok?

I too am struggling just tired of everything, havent done exante properly yesterday or today. The boys haven't been the best behaved today and I find things just get on top of me.

Racheyg · 03/05/2018 20:56

Shit........I'm like a human dustbin today. Have been eating so much.

Oops Have just eaten 3 rice crispie cakes Blush

Racheyg · 03/05/2018 21:36

Argh I feel sick Sad

pom was having a read through style and beauty and started reading a thread about a chloe bag. Then realised it was you. I really hope you get a good outcome.
