It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

That’s willpower Rachey. Turkish bread is so nice.

Tonight has ended with pizza and lots of wine. We are also celebrating a birthday tomorrow at a nice restaurant. Sensible eating will have to resume on Sunday. I’m also thinking of Exante from Monday

pom did you have a good time with your friend? Was it a boozy one? Or just food?

green I love pizza. What kind of restaurant are you going to?

I will prob weigh in next Thursday/Friday and do it every week. I don't have scales st home so I have to pay to use scales which stops me from weighing all the time.

The Turkish was delish but I did eat too much rice. At least I didn't add bread to it aswell.

green that 45% offer is still on exante. I ordered more today. It's made me realise that even though most of the food I was snacking on was "healthy" it still took my cal intake up quite high so I'm guessing that's why weigh loss was slow.

I may try and do 3 exante meals closer to wedding dress buying so I can get a good fit but not sure I will cope Grin

I hope you enjoy your weekend Green. You need to have a life too, it can't be all about the dieting.

Pom how do you manage with low carbing full time? What do use instead of rice or pasta? I feel so much better not having loads of carbs but I'm unsure about tasty alternatives.

I weighed again this morning and have finally lost 10lbs (10lb 12oz to be exact), the relief that I finally did it is immense. I have another 12lbs to go so I'm sticking to plan, I feel really motivated at the moment, the pressure to look half decent in a swimsuit is an excellent motivator.

Well done on reaching 10lbs. That's amazing. Your are going to be rocking that swimming costume in no time.

I had my exante shake this morning after my circuit class and I've nibbled on the boys left over veggie fingers. I'm off out on a girls night tonight so I will get back on it tomorrow.

Argh, slightly hungover I started off just drinking single g&t but then the shots came out Blush (I think we thought we were students again)

I even ate a McDonald's Blush Back on exante today.

Roasted veg lasagna with butternut squash instead of pasta

Best to skip the Exante today Rachey, hangovers and diets are a disaster, take today to recover and start afresh tomorrow.

I'm glad you had a great time, shots are always a sign of a good night out 😆 I ended up having a handful of crisps and 1/4 of a bag of nuts last night, I didn't mind going off plan but I had Exante soup and a tofu salad today. I am exhausted today, DS2 was sick last night and I was up all night with him. I can't be arsed cooking so I went back to Exante, back to JD for me tomorrow.

I'm off to bed for a nap as soon as DH comes home, I can't wait.

sol sorry to hear ds 2 is sick. Is it a 24hr bug or something?

I had good intentions and had a shake at 11am then curry rice at 2pm. But then I went crazy and ate everything Blush

I'm sure the handful or nuts won't be to bad. Are you going to start day 1 again?

One cheat day won't do too much damage Rachey, and I think going off plan is inevitable at the weekend. Your menu today sounds good, even if you could manage 3 packs every second day it would probably be a good way to continue the diet. Have you had another weigh in?

I had some nuts again yesterday and 3 pieces of toblerone 🙈 But I weighed in today and I lost 1lb, so I'm happy about that.

Today's menu:
Breakfast:Exante ham and pasta soup.
Lunch:Exante Indian Rice.
Dinner:Tofu salad.

I have a really long day in work today so it's easier to have Exante, DS2 is feeling a good bit better, I think he picked up a bug from school, he had a banana yesterday and kept it down so hopefully he is on the mend.

sol glad ds2 feeling better. It's awful when they are poorly. I'm glad both my dcs don't really get I'll (touch wood)

Well done on the extra 1lb loss. Not long till that 1 stone mark. That's amazing in 2-3 weeks.

I love that exante curry, reminds me of curry pot noodle (not that I've had one in about 20 years) Blush
I had the sweet and sour noodles for dinner but then I Had 3 rice cakes 2 with a smidge of peanut butter. 2 slices of ham and a handful of nuts. BlushBlushBlush

green how was ur weekend? Was the meal nice?

pom yes thanks it was a good night. I did have good intentions to only have g&t and not have a drunken macdonalds but that went out the window with my first jaggerbomb Grin

It is tough to get back on it after a 2 week break, maybe ease yourself in gently so it's not such a depravation? Are you getting back into running? I got asked to do a 10 mike run the other day........I was like not a hope in hell!! Running is such a different fitness to what I'm used to.

I had a cheek mid week weigh in and I'm still 10st 4lb I'm not disappointed or shocked as Saturday and Sunday were crazy.

I don't think 3 exante meals are for me. I think I will stick to 2 and 1 healthy dinner. I know it's a fairly slow loss, but I have found Monday I picked at stuff. I'm actually enjoying the food Confused I wouldn't mind being about 10 st when I try dresses on in 2 weeks. And maybe lose an inch around my tummy! (Fingers crossed)

Today:
Breakfast
Vanilla shake with a shot off coffee (thanks for the tip sol)

Lunch
Sweet and sour noodles

Dinner
Prawn and egg stir fry.

How is everyone getting on? It beautiful sunshine in London today, everyone just seems so much more happier in the sun

I'm having a day off plan today. I Am freezing cold and exhausted, I feel like I'm coming down with a virus or something. I would love to go to bed but I'm in work.

You're doing so well Rachey, I love the taste of Exante food, and it's so handy to Make up the packs.

Pom it will be harder to get back in to the swing of things after a holiday, don't be too hard on yourself. Maybe try increasing the good food so it will be a little easier.

Right, I better go back to work.

Typical I mention that my kids never get ill and here I am leaving work 1 hour early to pick him up from nursery due to high temperature

I Hope your kids are OK Rachey. Were they sick it was it just a temperature?

I had pasta for dinner, it was a massive mistake. My stomach is so bloated and sore. No more cheat days for me. I can't believe the difference a bowl of pasta has made, I'm definitely going to try and knock it out of my diet. I'm off to bed now, I still feel crap.

sol just a high temp. But when I got to nursery he seemed fine.

Oh no I hate the carb bloat, I agree sometimes it isn't worth it.

Did the double at the gym this morning felt good. 45 min spin and 45 circuit I burnt 1034 cals.

Had my exante vanilla shake with a shot of coffee for breakfast

Lunch will be Indian curry or noodles

Dinner chicken salad.

Rachey you are an exercise machine! That's an amazing amount of exercise and calories burned. Are you exhausted after doing it all?

I'm back on Day One of JD after my day off. I genuinely felt like I had a hangover this morning even though I hadnt been drinking, I wonder if I was drunk on carbs Grin I think I will be avoiding pasta for the next while, it's definitely not worth the bloat and discomfort.

My menu:
Breakfast - Toast with tomatoes and grapefruit.
Lunch - Fruit salad.
Dinner - Quorn salad with grapefruit.

I'm so full and I have a new love for salads.

Green and Pom, how are you getting on?

Thanks sol I actually really like exercise it's taken me a long time to get here though. These few hours exercise are me time, it really makes me happy (god I sound silly)

That's crazy you say that about cards and hangovers as I feel like that too.

I haven't been great today have picked a lot. Mainly on protein and veg but I shouldn't have done. Blush

I'm at a soft play area trying to avoid the amazing donuts.

I weighed myself today and I'm 10st 3lbs. I have been picking too much so I need to get my head down next week as I'm trying dresses on 9th may and I don't wanna look bloated.

The boys saw Maccy d's on the way here and I stupidly promised them one. I feel awful feeding them crap.

Well, I went out last night for a few "quiet" drinks with my mates. 🙈 I stuck to vodka and diet coke all night, because I'm avoiding wine, but I ate so much crap as we ended up ordering food. I'm not going near a bloody scales for the foreseeable future. There were rounds of shots going by the end of the night but I stayed well away, I feel so bad about eating all the food though.

Rachey do you think that you are self sabotaging for some reason? We all do it sometimes and it can be so frustrating. That's what I was doing just before Easter. Did you manage to avoid doughnuts and Mc D's? I absolutely love doughnuts, I can't have them anywhere near me or I scoff them. Have you picked a style of wedding dress yet?
