Ok sounds good, so what is your strategy?

3andnomore · 15/04/2007 20:38

Well my personal one is, that I will start Jason Vales 7Ibs in 7 days plan tomorrow, then his 14 days turbo charge plan and then will either continue with that a bot longer or go to phase 3, which still includes Juicing but more eating aswell...

saggers · 15/04/2007 20:42

I've just come across from the other link. Hope it's ok if I join you. I have the same addiction to food as some of you mentioned. I'm going to do the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin system. It tackles emotional eating (my downfall) and was highly recommended to me by a friend. It'd be nice to have a bit of emotional support while I shed my excess pounds! I start tomorrow. I hope we all get off to a good start!

snowwonder · 15/04/2007 21:22

i am also going to indulge in lots of yummy juicing... and i have bought books on emotional eating so i will be reading those so hopefully wont put the weight back on this time, all i want to be is a size 14 is that to much to ask

anotherfoodaddict · 16/04/2007 08:34

Right, well I've alread F*CKED UP my attempt by eating the end of a chocolate bunny this morning But I'm off with renewed enthusiasm (partly because there is NO open chocolate/sweets in the house now for me to pig on) to buy a book and some supplements this morning and will try to start a detox tomorrow (OH and I AM NOT going to binge today because it's my last day before dieting) sensible eating today too (no breakfast as I ate chocolate but I'm going to have lots to drink then a proper (but low fat lunch)
I'll be back later to tell you what plan I'm doing...oh the excitement

anotherfoodaddict · 16/04/2007 08:35

OH and before I'm back again I may master the use of brackets

3andnomore · 16/04/2007 12:40

Saggars anyone is welcome, no matter what you gonna try
Well, am on day 1 of my Juicing Detox...and so far am fine..wasn't that keen on the lunchtime juice...but it was drinkable...think it was the alfalfa powder that made it taste funny, hehe...but I will get used to the taste The morning Juice was gorgeous though
Done my Beverly Callard DVD to "ease" me into exercising...I cna do that wihtout being in internal agony for weeks...lol...and had the hour time to do it, as lil ones were both in Nursery/Playschool!
Don't know if anyone wants to follow my blog over the next few days...if so, I could post the link!
I started it up as a bit of a diary and to see how I am going, etc...!
lol afa...never mind...as long as you don't loose heart...that is the important thing.
Btw...what are you going to do? Plan wise...as you mention a detox
Snowwonder, you will be a size 14 if that is what you want to be.

Reading Jason Vales book and how he speaks of the "mental tantrums" we often put ourselfs through...by "denying" ourself what effectly we don't even really want, because we know it doesn't help us...he says on that, either have some and shut up or don't have some and shut up...lol...he does focus a lot on positive thoughts aswell..i.e. not to say "I can't" but to say I can but don't want too...etc...and I suppose he is right, as soon as we tell ourselfs we can't we want it!

OP posts:
3andnomore · 16/04/2007 15:31

lol...no Frascati here yet, lol...

Hi I'm back. I have my book (7lbs in 7 days) and a stack load of fruit and veg and I'm ready to start tomorrow a.m! 3andnomore if it's any help I've made up my own juice and exercise wallchart - didn't buy his one Let me know if you want a copy and I'll e-mail it over.

Frascati · 16/04/2007 20:41

I'm here I'm here

So far so good today

I had a small bowl of oatibix for breakfast
Went to gym did some weights, ran round track and did an hour class
cream cheese and celery sandwich and a bag of salted rice cakes (or should I say cardboard )
Picked dd up from school, she was happy as I took her heeleys
Dinner ~ had lasagna and salad. probiotic yoghurt for after
Oh and I have had 1 orange, 1 banana and 1 apple as snacks

Well done 3andnomore and another food addict there is always tomorrow

saggers · 16/04/2007 21:27

Well done everyone. I'm feeling smug and virtuous. I've had a successful day!

Huge bowl of fruit for breakfast.
Salad for lunch.
Snacked on an apple and a banana and a mini picnic egg (I don't usually eat meat, so that was an odd choice )
Fish and salad for dinner.
Lots of water to drink.
And I went for a run this evening(2 miles)!!

Can't quite believe it! Haven't been hungry, and have felt really positive. I just hope this lasts...

saggers · 16/04/2007 21:29

3andnomore and snowwonder- I'd be interested to know what you think of your books. So hurry up and finish them!

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 10:48

lol saggars...I have Jason Vales Fast food book, his Turbo charge book, his 7Ibs in 7 days book and his Chocolate buster book...they are all great...but the chocolate buster one, well...it's the one book I could have done without, and it's the book I originally thought I needed most...!
The fast food book, it's great to see if you could get into Juicing...it tells you about how to prepare and keep different fruits/veggies for juicing, etc...has some recipe ideas...!
THe 7Ibs in 7 days plan is the one I am doing now and then the turbo charge is gonna follow, and I do love his motivational style...the books are easy to read, and really do busts some myths that we have been brainwashed to believe...
If you think you couldn't face 7days just on juices, then just get the turbo charge one...or, there is another one on the market, that I have not read yet and that is his slim4life book, which will probably pretty much cover it all!
When I bought my Juicer I truely thought I would mainly use it for juicing fruits, never in a million years would I have believed that I would love Veggie juices so much, they really do taste great!

AFA...would be great ..I didn't buy the wall charts, and have been doing it without...was gonna make my own, and then just didn't get around to that....!
My E-mail addi is:
[email protected]

When you gonna start the 7days plan?

And well done everyone on getting off to a good start....

Am on day 2 of the 7 days plan, and so far so good...had 3 juices yesterday, but mighteed 4 today...am a bit hungry, lol...but so far had no urges to bite into anything...
Must admit though, shall be glad when I can start the turbocharge one...although, will still be doing 2 juices a day and just have an evening meal...but it will feel more "normal" whatever that is!
Did Davinas 30 minute "PUMP" workout last night and got up early this morning (5.45am ) and did my Tae Bo basic energize work out...!
Let me all know how you are getting on!

bamamama · 17/04/2007 11:11

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the drop a jean size in 2 weeks through the power of breakfast cereal really works? I'm on day 2 of the cereal for 2 meals and a sensible thing for the other and I'm really hungry!! It may just be that I think I'm hungry because I'm trying not to eat cake or it could just be that packet of Jaffa Cakes in the kitchen is calling... Anybody had any positive experience of this?

anotherfoodaddict · 17/04/2007 11:44

Morning all! Haven't tried the cereal one, sorry!

Ok, so I am on day one of the 7lbs in 7 days plan. I just weighed myself and I've put on over half a stone since the week before easter soooooo definitely need this kick up the arse!

I'm drinking something that looks like pond scum but it doesn't taste too bad. Spent a fortune on supplements but if this week goes well I think I'll try and do it a couple of times a year so will use them up eventually!

So I'm feeling fine so far and not hungry! 3andnomore, will be interested to see how day 2 goes, that can be the hard one I think. Did a 25 min aerobic video this morning too

OH, remind me again later to email you the chart, I've got to run now but will forget when I get back I guarantee it!

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 12:29

bamamama...have not tried that one...!

AFA...wow...you read the whole book already...now that is what I call dedication...or did you have it lying about for a while...lol!
Are you planning on doing the Turbo charge aswell...must say..am glad I got that book, too...because it does give you lots of recipes etc...aswell...not just juices but for dinner, etc...!
Apparently Jordan lost her 2 st in 3 month by going on the 7 days plan and then doing the turbocharge for the rest of the time, staying on juices for breakie and lunch at that time...hm....

Celery · 17/04/2007 12:42

Hi everyone, well I'm still weight watching and whilst progress is very slow, there is definately progress. I've noticed a pattern that I put on a few pounds the week before period is due, and then lose it again quickly during period, so that by the time period has finished, I've stayed the same - it's very frustrating, basically means I'm only losing weight 2.5 weeks out of four, but I guess I just have to go with it. Obviously that week I just can't stop eating - mostly chocolate!

I can recommend Frylight spray - only one calorie per spray and I've been using it to make tonnes of roast veg, which is my snack of choice. I can also recommend the Claire Sweeney WW DVD, although I can't stand her inane grin, it's a good DVD, not too strenuous, very doable and it works.

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 13:14

Celery...have given up on WW...I just couldn't get into the mindset this time...when I did it last time I went from 11st12Ibs down to 10st3Ibs in a matter of 3 month....but this time round I just couldn't get into the right frame of mind.
I did keep down to 10st5-6Ibs until last x-mas (so, had pretty much kept the weight off for a year) and then suddenly boom, after x-mas I was like 11.3 again, in a matter of weeks that happened...frightening stuff, really!
I am, obviously, at the moment doing the Juicing for Weightloss...but my longterm goas are that I eat a really healthy diet, preferable without wheat full stop, and dairy only a minor part, and only little meat, more fish...and of course lots of fruit and veggies and fresh juices...and hopefully that will help me beat cravings...it's quite mad really, that chocolate has had such a hold of me, considering I gave up smoking really easily a few years back and would not consider smoking again...but I suppose the chocolate addiction has been there from Toddlerage...lol....whereas I "only" smoked for about 6 years...!

Oh and afa...lol...at the green sludge...it's amazing how something that disgusting looking can actually taste quite nice, isn't it! Still not keen on that JM super chute juice...just doesn't flick my switch at all, lol! I actually added a few more bits, but it's still not as nice as other juices...with and without alfalfa...!
Oh, and those Supplemetns are expensive, aren't tehy...did find a good website where I could get some, much cheaper then I have seen anywhere else.

naturally green website
they delivered in like 2 days, so swift service and the prices are definately good!

snowwonder · 17/04/2007 13:22

my books havent arrived yet from amazon

hope they do soon,

i have been fine with the juicer, but i put the pulp into mine and eat with a spoon, dont know if this is ok i just hate waste!!

this morning i had apple carrot and pear

lunch i have had tuna with water cress rocket and spinach salad, with sweet chilli sauce, and that was delicious

hope everyone else is ok

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 13:32

snowwonder...hm...depends if you use organic produce I suppose..and also, you don't want all teh fiber from the fruits...because the reason juicing is such a great health tool is, that without the fiber the body can get to the nutrients better...so...if you have the pulp aswell, it might be hindering the nutrients...but then...I suppose the juice should still reach teh destination...hm...must say, eating the pulp does not appeal to me at all!
With my Jack Lalenne juicer, I did get a lil booklet that gave some recipes for teh pulp...but I don't use muhc organic stuff, so, I rather chuck the pulp, I must admit!

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 13:33

Which books did you get btw?

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 17/04/2007 15:46

3andnomore - Yes I have read it! I'm a fast reader and it wasn't exactly pulitizer prize stuff although I thought what he had to say made sense. So I'm three juices down and I'm REALLY hungry now! Will have to hang out until 5ish for my next juice though otherwise I'll never make it through the evening

Snowwonder, Frascati and saggars - fab days you three (yesterday and today)
Celery - I know what you mean about AF, that craving for chocolate is sooooo strong then and it's easy to get disheartened when you don't lose weight one week

Why don't we share why we want to lose some weight, maybe inspire each other! Once we've done these specific diets (like the juicing one) and move on to low fat eating maybe we could swap recipes. I know there is a ww thread on mn but it's so big, it's easy to get lost on there.

Ok, so I mainly want to lose weight because I don't want ANOTHER fat summer. I hate that cringey feeling getting out of the swimming pool in front of people. I want to get some new summer clothes but not until I've lost weight and I want to look fab on holiday so I MUST STICK TO IT!

sweetheart · 17/04/2007 15:54

Hi can I please join you?

I lost quite alot of weight after having my ds 16 months ago but I'm still not really happy and would like to loose a bit more. I gave myself a 2 week break over easter and now need to get back into it ready for our holiday in about 7 weeks time.

What is this juice thing your all talking about? Is it nothing but juice for 7 days? I'm not sure I'm "hardcore" enough to manage that.

As well as dieting I also try and manage the gym twice a week and netball. I've also just brought an eliptical trainer to burn some more calories off.

I've been following weight watchers up to now (but don't attend the meetings!)

anotherfoodaddict · 17/04/2007 16:04

Of course you can! To be honest though if you are following ww and doing exercise you are doing brilliantly already.
The juice thing is 7lbs in 7days by Jason Vale and it involves quite a bit of exercise and just drinking juices for 7 days) I'm on day one and I'd be prepared to sell my cat for a jammie dodger right now (by tomorrow it will be the children....)

sweetheart · 17/04/2007 16:09

it does sound quite hard to follow. I love sitting down to dinner when I get home from work so I'd be utterly miffed if all i had was a glass of juice. Plus I'm very aware that my "I'm fat" attitude is rubbing off on my dd (6) who doesn't want to wear skirts or shorts because she has fat legs You should see her, she's skin and bones!

So me having juice for dinner would create a very negative impact on her I think
