thanks 3and nomore, veg sticks are a great idea with small amount of humous?

are you just having juices and no solid food?

saggers · 18/04/2007 21:21

It sounds as if everyone is doing really well!
Snowwonder, I eat my dinner at about 6pm, and only drink water after that (or maybe splash out on a nettle tea!) Although I'd got used to eating (junk) in the evenings, now, when I think about it, I'm not actually hungry. I was just eating for comfort and out of habit. If you really are hungry, then apples or nuts are good to satisfy you for longer -they give a slow release of energy.
3andnomore, he believes that if you make a food forbidden, you are more likely to crave it (very true in my case!) But he says that your body knows the foods that are good for it, and if you keep your sights on what you want to look like/achieve, then your body will want those foods, rather than junk. It certainly seems to be the case with me (although I know I'm only on day 3!)
I had a bowl of fruit salad with seeds sprinkled on top for breakfast.
Lunch was a banana and an apple.
Dinner was pasta and salad.
Drank loads of water. Went for a run this evening. (2.2miles)
Can't wait 'til my books come from Amazon... I ordered the Chocolate Buster one, Paul McKenna's 90 Day Success Journal and a Geneen Roth one.

saggers · 18/04/2007 21:22

The 'he' I was referring to was Paul McKenna, by the way, not Jason Vale.

anotherfoodaddict · 19/04/2007 09:37

Morning all. Day 3 here and if my scales are to be believed, it's working! When I get to lunchtime today I'm half way through - hooray! I like the turbo express too 3andnm, I'm having the passion4juice one today, am tragically over excited about the thought of there being yoghurt in it (then of course you ruin the look by adding spirulina which makes everything look like pond sludge!)

I like the idea of the Paul McKenna books, nothing being forbidden and actually being in control of my eating. I am REALLY one of those people who finds it almost impossible to have one biscuit, before I know it I've had five. I just get a taste of sugar and I'm like a crazed woman

Ok, I'm off to try out my trampoline which I collected from a fellow freecycler this morning...THANK YOU FREECYCLER!

3andnomore · 19/04/2007 11:16

Snowwonder...yeah, humous sounds good, or something like a Yoghurt/Garlic Dip maybe...or a salsa...!
I think, now is the time to be adventurous...imo...i.e. try new things, try to "retrain" the tastebuts even...because, the thing you don't want is that you start feeing deprived and say, oh sod it...!
And yes, teh 7 days is just juices, after that you slowly add some solid healthy food...but no low fat shite or low carb or whatever...no processed food....just healthy food...chicken/fish, fruit and veggies, wholemeal stuff....
Saggars..in that JV and PMK agree then....but JV says, it's easier to not want somehting like Junkiefood, if you have detoxed you...because, things like sugar are so highly addictive...therefore makes it difficult to resist it if it's in your system!
I must say, I have no cravings whatsoever....and I still have sweets in the house for Kids, but don't feel like I want them...wohoo!
AFA...how you feeling today? I thought the Spirulina didn't make the Passion 4 JM to sludgy looking at all...mine looked minty, obviously didn't taste minty, lol! ANd I shall say it again...do get teh Turbo charge book, really do...there is so muhc info in it!
OH, and not being horrid, but tomorrow lunchtime you are going to be at half way mark...I know that because I am on day 4 today and am almost 1/2 way there...
no hunger at all, and feel soooooo light....my tummy is so much flatter and I feel amazing!
Done Taebo, last night and this morning....which is always a good way to break a good sweat!
I also realised something...a weird little sideeffect.....my sweat doesn't smell unpleasant and strong anymore...makes sense I suppose...but kinda cool!
Well, better pick up the lil monsters!
And well done everyone

anotherfoodaddict · 19/04/2007 13:49

DAMMIT...maths never was my strong suit, you're right, it's tomorrow lunch time I'm not get the Turbo thingy book though because I've already had enough of juices! I've bought some wild rice though and I'm planning to have that with some veg for my first proper 'meal' - I won't be off to McDonalds for a large big mac meal on Tuesday! To be honest, apart from the odd biscuits I eat a pretty healthy, none junk food diet. It's those sweet treats that are my down fall, my meals are fine

How is everyone else doing today?

3andnomore · 19/04/2007 15:30

AFA...are you gonna folow his advice on the 2 weeks after though? I mean, you could always do just the Breakfast Juice and do Lunch and Dinner as he suggests?
The Turbo Charge BOok does have some really good advice on longterm success...on how to curb those cravings, etc...
I must admit, I love Juicing and most of the Juices....and don't think I will ever reverse to not juicing at least onces a day, lol!

With me it is also those treats that are the problem...my meals usually are quite good...but chocolate...sigh....!

OP posts:
saggers · 19/04/2007 20:58

3 days and so far,so good. Glad we're all keeping on track, even if our tracks are different! I have always eaten healthy meals, but for me too it's been the treats that have made me grow to the size of a small house. I just couldn't stop myself. I'm amazed how easy I'm finding this, although am scared it all goes horribly wrong somehow...
Wonder where Frascti's got to? D'you think she's wasted away already?
How much weight is everyone wanting to lose? (If you don't mind me asking) Realistically I'd like to lose 3stone. It sounds so much.

snowwonder · 20/04/2007 09:03

hi evertone i weigh 15 stone though think i might be under that now JUST!!!!

i would love to weigh 12.5 and that would take me to a size 14-16, and i would be more than happy with that...

i have been fine as well, i am kind of doing healthy eating and i love it because i love salads, for me as well it is the crips etc in between so they have gone...

going to pop in to local weight watchers class to get an upto date shopping guide becsue i like there principles, adn knowing what a re the lowest point things like wotsits and monster munch are the lowest point crips,

eveing i have been having tesco dutch crisps bread which are delicous large round things they sell them with the crackers!! def worth buying, i have on them houmus(sp) sweet chilli sauce and cucumber and that satisfys me....

have a great day everyone

anotherfoodaddict · 20/04/2007 13:28

Oh I have reached the mid point (finally) but I feel really crap. I'm so hungry today and the thought of detoxing over the weekend is really depressing. MUST fight impulse to go and eat pitta bread...

anotherfoodaddict · 20/04/2007 13:29

snow - YAY for going into the next stone down...so satisfying!

3andnomore · 20/04/2007 14:24

Saggars, well done you Maybe make smaller targets...i.e. your 10% target first and then go 1/2 st. by 1/2st...that way it won't feel so daunting!
If you would like me to work your 10% target out, then e-mail me on [email protected] or just put it here...I would just need your current weight.
Well...if I am honest, I would love to go down to my minimum weight of 8st12Ibs....however...if I get down to 9 1/2 st then I will probably be happy enough anyway...but I shall reasses when I get to that point....so, to get to that I would have to loose 20Ibs...!
Lets hope that by the end of this week I will only have 13-15Ibs to go, eh!
Snowwonder...the WW calculater thing is kinda good, as you can work out any food to pointvalue.
AFA, so sorry you are feeling rubbish...you poor thing...I must admit, that the thought of NOT having any wine tomorrow is a bit depressing, lol...!
But I definately DO NOT want to break the detoxing plan...I mean, then the last few days would just be wasted.
I am doing really well....feel really good and the Exercising is enjoyable too....! I think the best bet is, to keep really busy at the weekend!
I have got my Juicer today, one of those Masticating ones...which keeps nutrients better, etc...so, I could take a Juice with me and have it at lunchtime if we are out then...shall see...! Hopefully the weather will be good and I can drive up to a country park!

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 20/04/2007 14:34

See I've been thinking about this alot since I haven't been 'eating' and I realise that most of the things I enjoy doing are centred around food. Going out for meals with friends, picnics with children, cinema visit (giant bag of revels anyone?) So the thought of a weekend with no food is utterly crap. Am sticking with it because I don't want to have wasted the last few days either. Weighed myself this morning and was the same as yesterday so I think that set me off in a bad frame of mind (I know, I know, I shouldn't be weighing myself every day)
Still, detox juice here by the computer and i'm supping away...3 1/2 days to go...

3andnomore · 20/04/2007 15:04

AFA...see, that is why I owuldn't way myself...weight is such a fluctuating matter...did you also take your measurements btw...as that will help you much better to access your progress!
I suppose eating is a big thing...and yes, not eating makes you more aware of it...however, not to worried about not eating at the weekend, it really is just that bottle of wine that I shall be missing!
Hohum!Best not think about it to much!
Maybe go to day 6 and 7 for over the weekend, and do the day 5 Juices on Monday!
Passion4 Juicemaster is on the menu for day 6 You liked that one
Must admit, couldn't face teh detox juice today nor could I face the Super chute one...so, did have my own concoction this morning (Apples,Carrots,Pineapple, Spinach, Beetroot, Fennel, Cucumber, a bit of lemon and Ginger) and at lunchtime I had a supergorgeous delicious Juice called JM's 5 Portions a day smoothie...!
I definately think it's better to mix and match teh Juices a bit to your liking, ratehr then completely sticking to it, but mentally feeling deprived and going into a mental tantrum!
HOw many Juices have you been drinking...I have 4 a day...

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 20/04/2007 16:06

Yep, am definitely in the throws of a mental tantrum at the moment, feeling very deprived but I have to keep telling myself it's just a week, ONE WEEK, that's it FGS. I had the detox one today, it wasn't great. The turbo express one is good and I actually quite like the super juice one, I refuse to have the super green one (a line has to be drawn at one that has to interspersed with bites of orange ) so myabe I'll try the one you mentioned instead (5 portion one)

How's everyone else getting on...snow, saggers, frascati?

saggers · 20/04/2007 22:22

Sorry you're finding it hard AFA, but you're doing really well to have stuck to it so far! I know what you mean about days out revolving around food...I've managed really well so far - I've surprised myself. Today is my 5th day. I did say yesterday was day 3, but I obviously can't count. (And I thought I was GOOD at maths ) But, like you, I'm wondering how I'll manage the weekend. I know I can eat when I'm hungry, but I'm worried that I'll crave food in those situations where eating has become a habit. (Also, Paul McKenna says you shouldn't weigh yourself more than every 15 days. I suppose it's because it would take that long to get a realistic idea of how much you're losing.)
3andnomore, you're sounding really positive about it all. Well done. I think you're right about tackling a bit at a time - I think I'll concentrate on each 7lbs. I was 13st 2 on Monday, so am definitely hoping to be under 13 when I next weigh myself. As long as I'm losing weight and feeling better and happier, really, it shouldn't matter how quickly or slowly it comes off though. I have to wait another 10 days before I can see if it's working!
My books came from Amazon this morning. I'm filling in the Paul Mc Journal and have looked at the chocolate busting one - it's like a chocolate version of Allen Carr's Easyway to Give Up Smoking. That worked for me so hopefully this one will. The funny thing is, though, I have only really had one craving for chocolate since Monday. Maybe I should hold off reading it until I get another one?
Went for another run tonight, so smug and virtuous again.
Wonder how the others are getting on too?
x

3andnomore · 21/04/2007 13:39

Well...on Day 6 and just had the most BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGG Juice ever...AFA, the reason why JV says to have a slice of Orange with it is not because it's vile, just completely tasteless Well...hohum....that won't feature to often in my life, lol!
I can't actually believe I am on Day 6, tbh...because, well...I really expected to miss food big time, lol!
Hehe...left myself some Ironing to do for tonight, that way, I hopefully will be to busy to miss my Wine, and will also have that lovely warm Apple/Cinnamon drink, to make up for it, lol!
Did Nell McAndrews Maximum Impact workout again...almost to the finish, lol..btu phone rang, so, gave the last 10 minutes a miss...!
Did Tae Bo last night...the get ripped one...I think!
AFA, how you feeling today? I kow you said you won't get the Turbo Charge book, but are you gonna do day 8-11 at least, from the Turbo charge section of your book? Because your metabolic rate will be much lower after a week on Juices, etc...!
Not decided yet what I will eat on Monday night...hmmm...but will make it special yummy, that is for sure
Saggars, lol, at you thinking you were on day 3 when you were on day 4Glad you are getting on alright though!
And yes, where are the others...Frascati, Snowwonder, etc....?

OP posts:
snowwonder · 21/04/2007 17:35

good for your 3andnomore you have outstanding will power fancy sharing some with me

i bumped into my ex yesterday evening and have since lost the plot, at least it proves to me the fact that i do use food for comfort when i dont really need it i turn to it to hold my hand.... damm i am so annoyed with myself..

well done everyone else

anotherfoodaddict · 21/04/2007 17:39

Aaaaaagh. 3andnomore you are scaring the life out of me. I had better not just heap the weight on when I start eating again (maybe keeping the exercise up will help) I was planning to start eating again but small portions and lots of veg...no meat or bread for the first few days I think.

anotherfoodaddict · 21/04/2007 17:41

snow - don't worry, none of us are on this thread because we have a marvellous, healthy attitude to food. Nothing bad has happened to me during this week but I guarantee if it had I would have turned to food. The key thing now (and this is the feckin hard part) is to not think 'oh sod it, I've blown it now' is to go back to healthy eating for your next meal. Good luck

3andnomore · 22/04/2007 09:29

Snow...I really think that reading this book and then the turbocharge book is really helping me keeping the right mental attitude...like I said from teh start, I don't want this 7IBs in 7days programme to be a diet, I want it to be the start of the beginning of my NEW LIFE and new habits...and it does actually really help to illiminate all teh things you crave from yoru diet, as they tend to be refined, high fat, high sugar foods, which are really addictive.
In his Turbo charge book he has a great part about the whole emotional eating bit.
There is also a section about it in the Chocolate Buster book.
Like AFA says, just get back onto track, don't feel guilty , don't feel all is lost...nobody is perfect and well...I don't think there is one person that is good all the time...you are normal...completely normal!
Rome wans't build in one day, you know
AFA, Day 6 for you...almost there
How is everyone else doing?
I am on day 7 of my 7 day programme....and am in a way looking forward to jumping on those scales tomorrow, and in a way, I am freaking, lol!
Anyway, must get off now...gonna go see the Inlaws in a while!

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 23/04/2007 08:36

How was the weigh in 3andnomore?
How's everyone else doing this morning, are you feeling a bit more positive snow?
Saggers - did you do lots of reading over the weekend?
Well I'm on day 7 - THANK GOODNESS! Actually all though I've been moaning I'm really, really proud of myself to sticking to it. I didn't think I could do it. Hopefully now I've proved to myself I can do without the junk I will be better at stopping myself when the 'oh I NEED chocolate'feeling kicks in

Happy healthy eating everyone

saggers · 23/04/2007 11:13

I sympathise with you, Snowwonder, but don't beat yourself up about it! We've all turned to food at times like that. Hope you can get back to a positive stae of mind.
AFA, you're doing so well! I'm halfway through the Chocolate Buster book. It's really good. Very scary though. I've known some of what he says, but have had my head in the sand as to the extent of it all! I feel guilty that I've ever let my children have chocolte They only have tiny amounts, but even so...
3andnomore, how much have you lost? I'm dying to know!
x

3andnomore · 23/04/2007 11:20

Well, my weighin was a success...I lost the promised 7Ibs in 7 days...so, am now down to 10st5Ibs...really pleased with it!
Had a bit of a hard time yesterday,as I went to INlaws, and they were great, no pressure on me to eat...I had told them that I am having a detox weeek, and I brought my Juice with me...anyway, I didn't mind not having Dinner...but NOT hvaing chocolate cake was difficult, and then have my ungreatful eldest son not even want his whole piece and me having to throw it in the bin...well...that was bloody horrible...after that I was in a real foul mood, and not being helped by my ms playing up, sigh...
But am proud of myself, I got throough it...did exercise in the morning and at night...and am glad it was worth it!
Well, am on Turbo charge fortnight now...and am looking forward to lovely grilled vegetable kebabs tonightYUM!
Had a Turbo Smoothie this morning and will probably have the Passion4JM this lunchtime.
So, enough about me...AFA, how is it going?
Well, you obviously know that on the weightloss front you have done better then me...might aswell that it wasn't a competition!
Saggars, Snow, Frascati...everyone else...how is it going?
Anyone watched that programme on channel 4 (I think) last night...race to size double zero or something?

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 23/04/2007 16:39

WELL DONE 3andnomore! Fab weight loss Throwing away chocolate cake though...isn't that against the law somewhere? Struggling today knowing I can eat again tomorrow (!) but I'm sticking with it. Enjoy those vege kebabs!
