Well done 3andnomore! 7lbs is great! Bet it was worth the effort! Hope you both do well eating real food.
How's snowwonder I wonder?

3andnomore · 24/04/2007 12:19

FA, if there isn't a law against throwing chocolate cake out....well...then there should be, lol!
How did you get on with your final weigh in? ANd I hope you are being gentle getting back to food
Saggars, how are you doing?
And everyone else...where are you all?
Well, Day 2 of Turbocharge and getting on fine...had those yummy veggies kebabs last night, and they were lush wiht that honey/lemon/lime/ginger and Olive oil "marinade"...it was just lush!
Had only 1 Smoothie today (Turbo one) because I had been out all morning, shopping and picking up something I got through freecycle...not that it was what I actually had in mind....the person had a Ab-roller to give away, and well, I assumed she meant one of those things with wheels, where you are on hands and knees and slight forward...but it was one of those AB Curler things...and we already got one of those, which isn't used...sigh...but was to embaressed to say, that I didn't want it, lol! Hohum!
Will have my 2. Smoothie once I picked up my ms...as I don't want to rush it down!
Will make a nice Veggie soup (Sweet POtatoe, Carrot, Broccoli, Leek, celery and watercress...or somehting like that)tonight, and the Kids can have it with some Baguette to dip in.
Anywya, before I bore you all away, lol! Best be off....

I am being good 3andnomore! My final weigh in said I'd lost 9 1/2 lbs so I was really pleased with that although I very much doubt it will all stay off. You'll be pleased to hear I had pineapple for breakfast and I'm having wild rice and steamed veg for lunch. Planning to have roast veg and dips for tea!

What are you eating today saggers, I love to get ideas from people, that marinade 3andnomore mentioned sounds fab....recipe please!

3andnomore · 24/04/2007 13:16

I used the juice of half a lemon (well, probably almost 3/4 actually, lol) and half a lime, 2 TBS of Manuka Honey, 1/2 inch of grated Ginger, 1TBs of coldpressed Olive oil...mix it all together and pour over the veggies and stir them around in it...I also used whatever was left over to brush onto the kebabs, once they were under the grill!

I used Mushrooms, Aubergine, Courgette, Cherry tomotoes and Pppers

OP posts:
3andnomore · 24/04/2007 13:19

OH and AFA, if you eat sensible it will stay off and you may even loose still more
YOu did really well though, loosing 9 1/2 Ibs...that is amazing....did you have all the Juices, or how many a day did you have?

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 24/04/2007 13:32

Thanks! I had 4 a day for the first few days and three and the hot and spicy thing for the others. I just couldn't face more than 3! That marinade sounds yummy, I might try it out on some of my roast veg tonight

snowwonder · 24/04/2007 14:27

brillant you have done so well on the juicing hope it has given you the kick start you wanted

i have thrown all diet plans away, after reading one of my books from cover to cover ( overcoming overeating)
it makes such sense to me, because on the days when i say i am on a diet i want to eat everything including the house!!!! but on days when i give myself a free rein to eat what i want i dont seem to eat so much if you see what i mean!!!
this book explores eating only when you feel proper hunger!! which i havent felt for years as i tend to just eat!!

so today i have had brekkie at 8ish, banana at 11.30 as i felt hungry and i havent had anything since, this book also trys to get rid of the 3 meals a day issue so dont have lunch just because it is miday if you are not hungry wait untill you are hungry and feed the hunger...
this is all well and good written down but i really hope it works for me!!!

NuttyMuffins · 24/04/2007 14:48

Can I join please ??

Have eaten crap so far today, so might have to start from tommorow

Will try and compensate by doing half hour n my thigh trainer later though (if i can haul it out of the cupboard where it has lived since it was brought that is).

snowwonder · 24/04/2007 15:18

yeah jump on board> good luck try not to look at it as a diet, thats my worse thing to do as i then just want to eat

3andnomore · 24/04/2007 16:54

snowwonder...in a way that is exactly what Jason Vale also says...i.e...in the first chapter of the &ibs in 7 days diet book he even goes into, that he didn't want that title, as he doesn't see it as a diet.
It's to kickstart a healthy lifestyle, to clear your system of toxins etc...alhtough, he does also explain why our bodys deserve just the best nutrition, etc...not Junk like refined sugars, flours, certain fats...but he is completely agaisnt diet products...natural is the way to go, I suppose!
And, yeah, you are right, as soon as one thinks of being on a diet dietmentality sets in, and you become obsessed with food....!

Nuttymuffins (your name makes me hungry, lol) ...jump on, please...the more the merrier...this thread is indeed not so much about diet as such, but more about us overcoming our unhealthy relationship with food...!

OP posts:
saggers · 24/04/2007 18:05

AFA, 9 1/2 lbs is FANTASTIC!!
Welcome, NuttyMuffins
Snowwonder, what you're doing sounds exactly the same philosophy as what I'm doing. I can imagine it works as a lifelong eating habit. Glad you're getting back on track.
I've got so much more energy now. And for the last couple of days, haven't even thought about food until I've realised I'm hungry! (unheard of!) AND I got my period today, so have obviously not turned to chocolate, as I ordinarily would have done.
I went for a run on Mon, Wed and Fri last week, and will be doing the same this week. Am starting a new yoga class tonight. Quite excited. Just hope I don't end up in A&E!
I had a bowl of fruit with seeds sprinkled on top for breakfast. Then had an apple at about 1, as was only mildly hungry. Am just about to have aubergine bake with salad. I hope it's nice 'cause I'm ravenous!
3andnomore, that marinade sounds lovely. Shall also be roasting vegetables later in the week.
Snowwonder, have you bought/read the Geneen Roth book?
Keep up the good work everyone. x

3andnomore · 25/04/2007 13:32

HI All, what a day....went to pick up the rebound trampoline this morning (someone on Freecycle offered me one), well, got there, and the guy had said he leave it in his Frontgarden...but nada...no trampoline in sight, sigh...so, I assume he had forgotten...!
Well, then got back into my car, which stalled on me and then wouldn't start up again, so, an hours wait for a Recovery service sigh...also had to get in touch with Nursery, so, they would have my Boys over lunch, sigh...that was £5 then...!
Absolute PITA....!
Foodwise...had a Smoothie for Breakfast and Lunch and will have grilled or steamed salmon for Dinner with some sort of Ratatouille (Sp?)
Did Beverly Callard this morning, not sure what I do later....I suppose depend when the Kids get to sleep...yesterday Flynn decided not to go to sleep until 8am, and by then I really found it difficult to motivate myself to anything...but I did Tae Bo Energise Basic , so, am proud that I didn't succumb (sp?)
How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 25/04/2007 16:49

Well you are doing better than me - breakfast was fruit, lunch was small amount of wild rice and roast veg and tea will be grilled chicken and veg kebabs - all sounds good BUT...I've had 3 biscuits I know it's not exactly a disaster but I wanted to try and avoid junk this week. Bum, am annoyed with myself but nevermind, will plod on!

3andnomore · 25/04/2007 17:19

Well, it was only 3 biskuits though....so, be proud of yourself that you didn't just tell yourself "sod it" and had the lot

snowwonder · 25/04/2007 19:25

today i have had, bereal bar for brekkie, pear at 11ish, crackers and humous with cucumber for lunch, and tuna salad for tea..

so far so good, hope i dont succumb to anything tonite

3andnomore · 26/04/2007 10:15

Hi All,
feel really positive today. When I did Tae Bo this morning, I really noticed the difference in my fitness level, and I can also already see my Body shape changing. So all good!
How is everyone else?

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 26/04/2007 18:48

I am struggling to even get started properly, still eating too much crap.

Today for example...

Breakfast : Bowl of cornflakes with full fat milk, cup of tea.

Lunch : cheese sarnies x3 + i pack of crisps. Another cup of tea.

Dinner : Weight watchers salmon and wedges meal + 1 large banana.

Oh and 1 bowl of ice cream.

Frascati · 26/04/2007 18:49

I am so disappointed

Have been ill this week so have been slipping back to my old ways.

Need to get back on to this again...

NuttyMuffins · 26/04/2007 18:51

Frascati - Sorry you've been ill
I'll join you in getting back on the wagon

saggers · 26/04/2007 20:41

snowwonder and 3andnomore, you sound as if you're doing well.
Glad you're back Frascati.
AFA- wouldn't worry about 3 biscuits if otherwise you were ok. Like 3andnomore said, at least you didn't polish off the lot!!
NuttyMuffins- I would make sure you eat enough so you don't feel hungry at all, but make sure it's all healthy. Otherwise you'll crave the junk stuff. NO ice-cream!
I need to take my own advice really...I've been absolutely fine until today. Went to yoga on Tueasday night (won't be changing my name to BendyBabe or FlexiChick yet ) and for a run last night. My eating has been in control and all good stuff. But today I had a hospital appointment, to get some results (not there yet so still waiting). I had fruit and seeds for breakfast, but was too nervous to eat lunch, so skipped it, but then by the time I left hospital I was starving. Went with my DDs to meet my friend and her children for something to eat, and I had a tunaburger and CHIPS. AAArrgghhh! I'm so annoyed with myself! I didn't even particularly enjoy it. Hopefully I can get myself back on track tomorrow. I can tell I'm losing weight. So, NuttyMuffins and Frascati, I'll be joining you with new resolve tomorrow...

snowwonder · 26/04/2007 22:23

hi all i have had a good day thankfully.....

breakfast was an apple at work,

lunch was crackers and humous and cucumber,

tea was veg lasagne and salad,

supper was bowl of shreddies....

i feel so proud that i ahvent eaten crisps, for days when normally i would have 2/3 bags, i love them............

you will get back on track, think of it as a blip not a failure....

NuttyMuffins · 27/04/2007 12:42

I am doing a bit better today.

Breakfast was a bowl of cornflakes but with semi skimmed milk. 1 cup of coffee.

Lunch was tuna salad and a banana.

Dinner will be Lasagne, corn on the cob and salad.

3andnomore · 27/04/2007 17:07

HI All,
Frascati, sorry you were poorly, but glad to see you back!
Nutty Muffins....take it a day at the time
Anyway, I am doing fine, and am actually amazed that when I went shopping today, I didn't feel any "remorse" for not buying any wine....I am not even worried about it...nice to see that has lost it's hold a bit.
Am reading now Jason Vales "Slim4Life" Freedom from the Foodtrap, which is absolutely brilliant...not a Juicing book...more a way to overcome food addictions, by telling you all teh bad stuff...bit liek the Chocolate buster one, but for all foods....

At the moment I am in the chapter of "no more diet ever" somehting like that...
This book is not jsut about setting yourself free from food and letting it control you, but also freeing yourself from Junk...

Had Juices for Breakie and Lunch, an Apple for Snacks and am now doing Roast veggies (Sweetpotatoes, Carrots, Parsnips, Tomatoes, Courgette) wiht a Lemon/Manuka Honey "marinade" ( I just juiced 2 whole lemons....waxfree ones, and mixed it with the Manuka Honey) and then you put some black pepper on top! ANd will have some mackarel with it!
I think I will make the leftover veggies into a soup...cos, I have some leek that needs using up, lol...and it looks like loads...!

OP posts:
snowwonder · 27/04/2007 22:07

today has been ok......

brekie - apple and seeds at work

lunch - 4 dutch crispbreads with hunous cucumber and sweet chilli sauce, (can you tell that i like these)

dinner ermmm chow mein from take away, with my lovely baby brother at his new house..... but it is fine i want to be able to have the odd take away and enjoy it and again it isnt what i normally have (sweet sour chick and rice) so i made a better choice.....

hope everyone else is feeling good

3andnomore · 28/04/2007 13:38

Afternoon!
Well, can't say I was all that keen on the roast veggies..they were ok, but not my favourite. So, had loads of leftovers, and I made that soup, and as a soup it all worked really well, so well, I had to have a bowl of it last night after making it
But there is plenty for tonight for me and es...doubt lil ones will have it, fussy lil so and so...hehe, they will have a thing coming....because after they finished the sweets and bikkies that are in the house, I ain't gonna buy anyhting in large amounts ever again. And there will only be fruit and veg and nuts to snack on....!
Will also throw away the plain flour and things like that....will only use wholemeal stuff altogther, and as for white refined sugar, that will be out of the door, too...lol!
Must say, I really enjoy Jason Vales Slim4 life book, and it's giving me the right incentive and re-enforcing my thinking etc....of why I am doing this....not jsut for weightloss, but to free myself from Drug food.
Did Davinas Power of 3 DVD today....last time I did it, month ago, I couldn't walk for a week and it took me a month to get over the pain completely, and well, so far so good...just goes to show how much fitter I am
Had a most delicious Smoothie this morning for breakfast!
You juice 1/2 a large pineapple or 1 small one, I suppose, lol.
Then you blend the Juice with 1/2 handful of soaked(over night) Almonds, 2handful of Berries (I used raspberries and used them frozen), 4 tbsp of organic natural live Yoghurt and 1 tbsp of Manuka Honey....blend until smooth, pour and enjoy.....yum...!
Had another nice smoothie for Lunch and tonight will have that earlier mentioned soup of roast vegetables and leeks....!
I might do a more advanced Tae Bo workout later...shall see.... Hopefully I can busy those lil monsters and then do it before they go to bed, as es wants a mummy and son night tonight, lounging and cuddling and watching some TV...hopefully there is something decent on....otherwise might need to rent a Dvd out....!

How is everybody else getting on?
Snow, I think it's important to every now and then have something you shouldn't, but to enjoy it, not feel guilty about having it...
