afa..must be quite a shock to your system...I have had a lot of juices the past few weeks anyway, so, got a bit used it I suppose...so, not yet ready to sell Kids or dog....yet
I have just had my 3 juice of the day, and made it a double portion for later...done some skipping around midday, and wow...he ain't lying when he says it lifts the tiredness...it really did that for me...have only done 10minutes or so, though...because the Kids were to annoying, constantly walking into the skippingrope, and things...sigh! Little critters...now for that reason I may well sell them
MUst say, I don't feel hungry now or anything...so, that is brilliant news
Oh, and you do have to get the turbo charge book and ou will realise there is no need to go low fat, etc...to much to go into here, lol!
And please E-mail me the chart...although haven't checked my E-mail yet, so, you may well already done that, lol!
Sweetheart, the 7 day thing is basically a detox which, theoretically would help if you have craavings for things like sugary foods, etc...as it will get your sugarlevel to "even" out. Jason Vale is a great believer in natural foods!
YOu are doing well though if you do WW and go Gym, etc...!

My reason for doing this is, that I truely want to get rid of my attitude to food...I want to feel free from cravings, and don't want to binge and gorge on chocolate, etc...!
I also want to look fantabulous when dh comes home for R&R (he is in Afghanistan right now...will have R&R end of May...wohoo)...he loves me as I am, but me feeling so uncomfortable with myself, really isn't doing anything for my sexdrive...I just feel so self conscience(will never remember how to spell that one, sorry), basically as much as I love him and still fancy him, and enjoy sex with him, I nowadays usually have to have a few glasses or more of wine in me, before I can let myself go...and that is just sooo wrong on so many levels...
Sorry, probably all a bit tmi, there, lol!
So what are your reasons?

snowwonder...
found some info for you:
"Removing the fibre allows us to get at more of those essential nutrients contained in fruits and vegetables which would otherwise take a lot of chewing to eat, juice is also much easier for the body to absorb and digest. As we are now being encouraged to eat 5 different portions of fruit and vegetables per day - juicing is an excellent way to get these nutrients in to our bodies. The juicing process also discards the chemicals found in non-organic food into the pulp."

3andnomore - Wallchart sent at last! I'm having a turbo express at the moment. Nicest one so far. Lemon and ginger zinger sounds promising too. Did you try the greens one that he suggests having with a mouthful of orange inbetween each sip I don't think I'm that brave, I may have to substitute it!

snowwonder · 17/04/2007 18:04

but i thought the reason we couldnt count the juice as potions of fruit is because of the fibre not being there so i thought if i ate fibre i could count it as a portion???,

i really like the pulp mixed into the juice, it bulks it up a bit otherwise i would only have a few cm's of juice?

bought some frozen rasberries today to try and juice, and some melon

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 18:08

haven't tried that one...yet...but like you, am a bit unsure, lol!
I think, once I finished with these first 7 days, I shall start having my "own" favourite concoction again....2 Apples, some carrots, beetroot (a whole one or half...depending on it's size), fennel...about 1/4-1/2, a bit of ginger root, and some spinach...imo, that juice is delicious
I quite like the Super juice(even though it looks like sludge, lol)..not so keen on the super chute one (but I mentioned that already, didn't I....lol!
Been just on E-bay and looking at all those masticating Juicers...I might just get myself one of those Easy Healthy Life enzyme Lexon ones...rather then getting a better centrifugal one...then I could just use the Jack one when I am in a rush...
I really do like the idea of making nutbutters and icecream and pasta

thanks for the info by the way 3and no more you seem to be a wizz on the computer.....

i currently weigh 15 stone at my heaviest i was 17.5, i would love to be 12 stone something....

A am a single mum (for 2 years) of 2 girls age 9 and 3 and they go to bed and i just eat

i want to lose weight so i have more confidence to go out and have fun and actually have something to wear, and maybe even one day might snog a boy again

and i want to be able to look at myself and like what i see rather than hating the image staring back

i also want to deal with the issues i have with food i would love to be able to have one biscuit and stop like others do, rather than wanting 5 more.
and one bag of crisps rather than 6 ....

snowwonder · 17/04/2007 18:18

and i would love to see you blog 3andnomore,

amazon just emailed to say my books are on there way

anotherfoodaddict · 17/04/2007 18:20

I bet a smoothie of rasberries, strawberries and maybe yog (?) frozen would make a great lolly. YUM!
Haven't had beetroot yet, I couldn't find it in Tescos and I was in a rush, will have a look tomorrow when I restock my fruit and veg. Normally I don't eat ANY fruit - loads of veg but I don't really like fruit that much. I've probably consumed more fruit today than I did all last year

Snowwonder - WHEN you snog a boy again we want an amanda1-esque blow by blow account. I'm sure you are voluptously gorgeous now but when your confidence soars with the loss a few pounds you will be irresistable BTW I KNOW I would be the same with my eating if I was on my own. The first thing I think when DH says he is going out for an evening is 'what shall I have for tea?'

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 18:30

snowwonder... my blog ...I have only just started it last week, and it's the first time I am doing a blog...so...it's not very inspired yet...I mainly started it to be able to see my progress, etc...
I think that is the problem if you are on your own...and I am only temporary on my own...but I am sure that a fair few pounds after x-mas were put on in January...i.e. when my dh left....and I know I was eating all sorts and to much!

OP posts:
snowwonder · 17/04/2007 18:35

thanks anotherfoodaddict......

i was the same when i was with my ex, i used to think about what i would eat when he was out now i dont have to do it in secret i just do it when girls are tucked up even now if they go to my dads for a night. i plan what luxurys i will eat, it is an awful way to live....

good for you eating the fruit, i dont normally eat much either but it is definetely easier to eat in this hot weather as are the salads , went to get salad today and the shlves were almost bare, i like the bag of watercress, rocket and spinach, but they didnt have any.... i was very pleased with myself as i always buy a french stick and eat with cheese and salad but today i didnt, so i can do it if i try...

saggers · 17/04/2007 20:27

3andnomore- Thanks for the info on books. I just read your post, but not in time... I ordered JV's Chocolate Buster book from Amazon this morning. I've gone two days easiy without chocolate now, so think I may not need it after all. As long as I don't have it, I don't seem to want it. But give me one taste, and I can't stop!
I don't think I could stick to just juice all day, so think I'll keep going with my Paul McKenna. I know I've only done two days so far, but am finding it surprisingly easy, and feel more energetic already.
I'm finding it hard to keep up with who's who on here, and who posted what. I'm not thick, just new to MN. Maybe I'll get quicker at it all?
I used to weigh 9 stone before I had dd1. Weight after I'd had her went up to 13 stone. Got back down to 10, which was actually a fine weight to be, but then got pregnant with dd2, and went back up to 13 and beyond. All through my life I feel I've struggled with my weight, but really only ever had a half a stone to lose at the most. Now, at 3 stone overweight, I'm unhappy, unhealthy, and feel like a frump!! I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I long to be able to fit into again. I want to be slim again, and to be able to walk into a shop and buy clothes because I like them, not just because I can squeeze into them! I also don't want to pass my unhealthy relationship with food onto my girls. I want to be normal!
Surely, if I want it that much, I can do it?!!

Frascati · 17/04/2007 20:36

Hi everyone

Sorry I am only on for 5 mins so won't have time to read all your posts

I have had another fairly good day

Oatibix for breakfast

lunch was a bit naughty as I had jacket potatoe with beans and cheese

also just about to have a chinese takeaway veg curry

However I am not snacking througout the day and that's my main goal.To eat sensibly.
I have got some sunflower and pumpkin seeds to snack of it I need to

I'll be back tomorrow for a proper update on you all. Well done for what you have achieved so far xxx

3andnomore · 17/04/2007 20:41

saggars...tyhe chocolate buster book seems to be a real success...I think the reason why it didn't work for me was, that I knew the things he said anyway...so, as it had never put me off before, it wouldn't now...iykwim...however, soem of the stuff is kind a shocking if you don't know about it, it will be a revelation and it possibly then will put you off....!
Just be aware, at the time of reading the book, I had even more of an urge for chocolate as it was on my mind the whole time...but rest assure, he does say that is kinda normal, lol!Probably didn't help that I read it over easter, lol!
What is that Paul Mc Kenna programme then? Is that the one that was on TV? I must admit, I never watched it.
In the end, it's horses for courses...and what works for one doesn't work for the next person, does it...!

A few years ago a friend of mine and I were pondering if we rather be able to eat all the food we want and not put any weight on, or if we prefer NOT to fancy rubbish in the first place...she wanted to be able to eat all she wanted and I rather wanted that I didn't fancy the crap...so...hopefully I will achieve that!

OP posts:
saggers · 17/04/2007 20:50

The Paul McKenna method is a book and cd. Don't know if it's been on TV. Just 4 basic rules to follow..
Eat when you're hungry
Eat what you want, not what you think you should
Stop when you're full
Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful.

Sounds too good to be true. Worked for a friend of mine. Apparently works for 70% of people (by works, mean they lose weight and keep it off) Most diets only work for 6%.

Obviously, he recommends that you take excercise too, even if it's just walking more.

I'll weigh myself on Day 15 and see if it's working (if I can keep it up that long)

Well done Frascati, and everyone else. x

anotherfoodaddict · 18/04/2007 07:45

Don't tell anyone but I'm quite enjoying doing the exercise part of the juicing programme.

sweetheart · 18/04/2007 11:01

I feel hungry this morning I'm gonna have a cuppa to ward it off until after my gym visit. I don't know how some of you are managing on just fruit juice, I'd be starving!

Did 25 mins on my eliptical triner last night so I'm hoping to excercise every day Mon-Fri this week and have Sat and Sun off.

anotherfoodaddict · 18/04/2007 12:32

It's not skinny juice like orange juice it's sort of thicker like smoothies so a bit more filling although I have to say I have been REALLY hungry this morning

sweetheart · 18/04/2007 13:46

well I've done my lunch hour gym visit and now I feel less hungry. I've send a colleague down the road for a salad and some fruit so I'm on track today

snowwonder · 18/04/2007 14:07

everyone is doing great think the sun helps me focas, and i love eating salad in this weather.

last night all i thought about was food when the girls went to bed, but i had my tea at 5, then had nothing after that so i was really pleased, and if i did it last night i can do it again tonight...
diner will be slightly later though today as girls have trampolining til 5.30.

and my books have arrive although think ill have to send a few back as i am a bit over whelmed with having to many..

hope everyone ok

anotherfoodaddict · 18/04/2007 14:54

Hey girls! Yep, I'm still on track too. I'm supposed to do a 15 min walk or something similar or something at lunchtime but it's impossible with dc (aged 2 and 3) around (dd walks like a snail and ds will be wailing to get out of buggy after 2 mins). A lovely lady on freecycle thinks she may have an exercise trampoline I can have (love freecycle ) but I haven't heard back from her yet so instead I've mowed and strimmed the lawn which took about 1/2 hour so I figure that should cover it!

Snowwonder - how do you manage that, if I had tea at 5.30 there's no way I'd survive until bed time could you have a light tea and then a light snack a bit later in the evening so that you don't feel deprived and starving during the evening?!

3andnomore · 18/04/2007 15:53

HI All,
well, Day 3 for me and feeling fabulous!
The Juices are really satisfying, some more then others, of course...I can now see why the Juicemaster has a fair few Juices blended with Avocado...that definately makes them more satisfying!
I also must admit I enjoy the exercise...but yeah, the lunchtime one wiht Kids is sort of difficult for me, too....but I suppose some walking will still be better then non!I would love a rebound trampoline...might ask if someone has one they want to get rid off on Freecycle...now there is an idea...!
Snowwonder...try not to get into Diet mode...remember you want to do something that will help you for life...
Jason Vale says in the book, to focus on the things you can have, not the things you CAN'T have...to trick your brain. And you could still ahve some salad after your Kids gone to bed or somehting like that...a healthy snack!
Saggars... sounds good...but does he also encourage healthier food? Just wondering!

OP posts:
anotherfoodaddict · 18/04/2007 17:23

AGH, I find this time of the day hard whenever I'm dieting/healthy eating, I'm hungry, children's tea is cooking and smells good and somehow a juice is not going to taste as good as what they are having...grrr....!

3andnomore · 18/04/2007 17:40

Afa...now, I know this will all come over really crappy mummy...but well...this week my Kids are gonna have a bit of a Junk week...because, I am less likely to eat it in my frame of mind...and things liek Chickenburgers are not really apealing to me anyway...lol...how bad am I....!
They of course just think it's all brill...hehe...they will have a shock coming next week, when we will all be back to eating meals in the evening together and they will be healthy!
Just had that Turbo Extra...yum...do like that one (says in the book it's the one that Katie used most when she did this...)...have never really taken fancy to eating avocados..but they really do go nicely in the smoothie.
How you feeling now, btw....remember day 2 is the tough one...tomorrow will be so easy and like I said, tomorrow you don't have to have that yukkie Juice you don't like...!

OP posts:
snowwonder · 18/04/2007 19:23

fantastic everyone is doing great....

trampolines are great in fact it is the only piece of equipment i have bought (£5.00 off ebay) that i have used more than once!!!! i seriously enjoy it and it looks really easy but it is hard work!!!

yes i guess i should have something in evening but people say not to eat after 6.00 maybe i could have a bowl of cereal , that tends to curb my sugar craving as you can have a big bowl and it's hardly any fat, i love shreddies

3andnomore · 18/04/2007 19:53

hm...don't think carbs after 6pm are a good idea......well the Juicemaster says no man made carbs after 6pm other then wild/brown rice...and it does make sense, because carbs...other then fruit and vegetable ones raise the bloodsugar, and activate insulin production and that can be a problem...
how about something like a salad or vegetable sticks and a dip...or would that not apeal to you at all?
