Hi everyone, here we are with out 4th thread.
I really can't believe just how well everyone is doing.

Joash 12lb loss in 6 days. That's fantastic. I'm like you, i also have a cheese weakness!!!

hercules1 8lb loss in 6 days. Brilliant.
You don't have to wait until you reach goal before you eat food again.
There are lots of food plans to choose from.
Have you tried FIBRE 89? helps you if you do get constipated.

catsmother I cannot believe that you've lost another 5.5lbs this week.
You are an inspiration to all of us.

gtimama 1st 1lb in 2 weeks is a great loss.

michaelad How are you getting on with day 4?
You can have the berry powder in the first week.
Theres also an orange powder as well. I didn't like this as much!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy How fantastic must you feel losing 22lb in a week?
That has to be the most i've ever heard of.
Well done you.

Sorry that i've not mentioned everyone, but i'd be here all day if i did that.

I've been doing this diet for 13 weeks now and have lost 38lbs and 1/4 oz.
My next weigh in is on wed as my CDC has been away on hol.

Have tried to be good, but also caved in a few times with the kids easter eggs!!!!

That's amazing catsmother! Wow, takeaway, drool...

How much did you lose again and over what time?

The maintenence plan just sounds so dull.

catsmother · 10/04/2007 22:36

I ought to add .......... every time I post these days, I feel like I'm boasting. I really really do not want to "rub" people's noses in it who still have quite a way to go. I'm just describing what it feels like, right now, at this stage, for me.

It's hard to belive ..... in November I was wearing size 16 jeans, and size 18 tops.

catsmother · 10/04/2007 22:44

Last time I weighed myself I'd lost 3 stone 13lbs on the Counsellor's scales (but 4 stone on mine, without clothes !)

I started CD the last week in Nov. Have had 2 weeks "off" (Xmas & hospital) where I really did stuff myself) though, plus assorted binges along the way.

Maintenance does sound dull but it's only for 6 weeks, and apart from the 1st couple, you are allowed quite a bit of food .... enough to make proper meals. It's really about re-educating your palate, portion size, calorie awareness etc. Mind you, my palate has probably been shot to pieces now by last night's Chinese. However, I do feel I must get back on the wagon and go through this ..... all evidence seems to show that people who do this stand the biggest chance of success (ie. keeping a stable weight).

luciemule · 10/04/2007 22:55

I agree with catsmother, who I don't think is boasting at all, just inspiring us to keep going by explaining what she feels like to be buying those clothes. I was going to ask you catsmother - how much did you have to exercise to tone up or aren't you worrying about toning yet? I tried to buy trousers today and my thighs just looked bloody awful as they're still not defined enough. I really need to get bnack on my exercise bike once I'm back home after the hols.
TLSM - I hope you;re feeling a little better now - I was sad to know how upset you were feeling earlier about the skin issue. It might be easier to deal with it if you think that the extra fat is not healthy for your heart but excess skin, after losing the fat doesn't have the same health issues. And if money isn't an issue, then why not have surgery once you've lost the weight, although I do think that it might be possible to have it done on the NHS. I do understand how you must be feeling though - it can't seem fair - to be losing weight so you're not as big but then to have the excess skin once you do lose weight. I hope you feel happier soon - your friends and family must be so proud of you doing the diet and you should be proud of yourself too.

catsmother · 10/04/2007 23:08

You're going to hate me but I haven't really done any exercise. I have a 3 year old who likes walking but can't walk that fast, or that far, so the most we do is a couple of miles and even then, not every day. I know it sounds stupid, but I have really tried to hoover the whole house every day ...... I figured that way the house benefits, but so do I, pushing and pulling a Dyson, and lugging it up and down 6 flights of stairs (we don't live in a mansion - just a very odd house built on a slope, on lots of levels).

That - and gardening - is all the exercise I do. I'd love to go to the gym, but I work from home evenings and weekends so it's kind of difficult and there's nowhere nearby with a creche that's affordable.

I feel really lucky that I don't have any loose skin - mind you, I am verys hort sighted so maybe I am deluding myself.

hercules1 · 10/04/2007 23:16

I find your story very inspiring, catsmother and of course it's not boasting!

I want to lose 3`1/2 stone in total so similar amount. ALready lost nearly a stone.

luciemule · 10/04/2007 23:26

cool catsmother - in that case, I'm gonna wait a while and see if the fat dissolves a bit more!!! I walk into the village about 2/3 times a week (15mins there and 15 back) and am constantly running around after the kids, hoovering a lot and like walking at weekends and when I do my bike, I do about 15/20 mins at a time. Perhaps I'll just keep on covering up thighs until then!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 11/04/2007 08:41

Well i has my second weigh in last night and have lost 9lbs so a total of 22lbs on my cs scales which I am really happy about not bad for two weeks work

hercules1 · 11/04/2007 09:27

Yeah for you. THat's really ace . That must be really motivating for you

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 11/04/2007 09:40

Completely roll on christmas and the size 14 dress x

michaelad · 11/04/2007 11:24

Tlsm, excellent second weigh in! Whow! Keep going
Luciemule, really nice to see you back. Did actually miss you a bit . How are you doing and how much have you got left to loose?
catsmother Please, please stay with us so we can all use you as the perfect example that it does work. And I'm so keen to see how you'll be doing on maintenance since going back to normal food must be one of the hardest parts.

by the way, have finally managed to upload some photos. If you want to have a look

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 11/04/2007 11:41

Thanks Michaelad your little boys are lovely x

fussymummy · 11/04/2007 23:00

TLSM well done, you got to the 22lb, thats fantastic in 2 weeks.

I had my weigh in today and have lost 5lb, was pleased with that, especially as i'd been eating choc over easter!

I've now lost 43lb in total.

OP posts:
luciemule · 12/04/2007 08:46

thanks Michaelad - still not back home yet but doing ok. Have been good over last 3 days and went to sister's last night and had major trying on clothes session. She gave me some stuff she didn't want anymore and I now feel much more confident.
I've got just over a stone to lose, although I may have put on a couple over easter - which is why I've been really good in the last few days! We'll see what the scales say next wednesday!
You're all doing so well.

michaelad · 12/04/2007 09:35

luciemule, when are you coming back home? Only a stone left..oh, I wish.. . Yes, I know what you mean about the boost that trying on clothes can give you. Can't wait to try and squeeze into the next dress size down. My clothes are starting to feel a bit looser already so hopefully it won't be all that long. Got my period coming up though so don't expect too much from my next weigh in, tbh.
Since I am allowed bars from next Tuesday onwards, can anyone of you recommend particular flavours?

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/04/2007 09:41

I got the bars on Tuesday night and I had the double choc on Tuesday and the Orange choc last night I but them in the fridge and the cut them into 1cm slices then put them back in the fridge for an hour that way you eat the bits a lot slower than the bar as a whole i didnt really like the double choc as it didnt really taste of choc I liked the orange one though it does have dark choc on the outside - I think all people are different as i know loads of people dont like most of the soups but luckly I dont mind any of them

michaelad · 12/04/2007 09:49

I'll be one of those "soup people" then. The only one I actually really like is spicy tomato. The other ones are bearable but not terribly great.
Did you try the peanut one by any chance?

hercules1 · 12/04/2007 10:14

I did like all the flavours but nrealy gagged on teh broccoli and cheese one the other day. I can no longer face the toffee and walnut one either.

I am going to ask for just banana, strawberry, choc mint and chocolate for my shakes this week and just vegetable, spicey tomato, chicken and veg, oriental chilli for my soups.

I also get to try the bars this week. At the moment it's the thought of those bars that is keeping me going. Will def do the fridge thing as well.
I'm also going to get the prepared shakes as back to work next week.

michaelad · 12/04/2007 10:32

oh, the chocolate mint one is yummy!!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/04/2007 10:45

One thing I have found weird the Already made shakes seem to make me hungry i had one for lunch yesterday and then had a rumbling tummy and so could have eatern a little sausage from the fridge it really was an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other eat it, NO Dont, Oh go on one wont hurt, yes it will think of the weight lose!!!!! I didnt eat one but I am put off by the ready make ones it could be the fact that it is made with milk?

michaelad · 12/04/2007 10:55

Don't know..my ones ones arrived on Tuesday and I have not tried them yet. Tip though, pop them into the freezer for a couple of hours. They supposedly make for reasonably decent ice cream ...the chocolate one that is

ShrinkingViolet · 12/04/2007 16:06

I'm really really boring - vanilla with a spoonful of coffee for breakfast, chocolate for lunch and choc mint for tea every day! Although my CDC didn't have any vanilla today, so it's chocolate all the way for me for the next fortnight
Have lost 5 lbs in the past fortnight which for me is really good (having PCOS makes it more difficult to lose, plus the cheating doesn't help either ), so that's 10 lbs in total, with 38 lbs to go. I'm losing inches though, so I'm not too fussed about the weight as such.

michaelad · 12/04/2007 19:25

Hi everyone, just needed to tell you this. Went shopping today and tried on some jeans just out of curiosity and I have already dropped a dress size!! And it's not even two weeks yet! This is fab!!!

hercules1 · 12/04/2007 19:37

That's great news for everyone it seems

I know what you mean about the scales and inches. My own scales arent moving so much but the inches are!

luciemule · 12/04/2007 21:20

Hello - good for you michaelad - dropping the dress sizes so quickly is so motivating isn't it? I too think inch loss is more significant than weight loss, especially when water retention etc is taken into account. Don't forget muscle weighs more than fat and that's why the body mass index theory is now being critisized by so many.
Out of interest, how do people drink their shakes: slowly or down in a one-er? I find that if I sip mine, I feel more hungry but if I down it, followed by 1 pint of water straight away, it makes me feel more full for longer and puts me nibbling as my stomach feels so stretched!
