Hi everyone, here we are with out 4th thread.
I really can't believe just how well everyone is doing.

Joash 12lb loss in 6 days. That's fantastic. I'm like you, i also have a cheese weakness!!!

hercules1 8lb loss in 6 days. Brilliant.
You don't have to wait until you reach goal before you eat food again.
There are lots of food plans to choose from.
Have you tried FIBRE 89? helps you if you do get constipated.

catsmother I cannot believe that you've lost another 5.5lbs this week.
You are an inspiration to all of us.

gtimama 1st 1lb in 2 weeks is a great loss.

michaelad How are you getting on with day 4?
You can have the berry powder in the first week.
Theres also an orange powder as well. I didn't like this as much!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy How fantastic must you feel losing 22lb in a week?
That has to be the most i've ever heard of.
Well done you.

Sorry that i've not mentioned everyone, but i'd be here all day if i did that.

I've been doing this diet for 13 weeks now and have lost 38lbs and 1/4 oz.
My next weigh in is on wed as my CDC has been away on hol.

Have tried to be good, but also caved in a few times with the kids easter eggs!!!!

Hi there!

Wondering if I can join in your thread. I just went and saw my cdc today and start on ss tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it, but I was wondering what to really expect. I hear people say how the weight just dropped off, I just don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't.

SpookyMadMummy · 11/06/2007 17:48

Hi Yummymummy..
Good luck for tomorrow, you can do it!
22 poounds for me in 4 weeks, yes it did drop off! I was a sceptic too until it got to the point I had to do something about my weight.
Sole source is hard, but so worth it in the end.
Stick with it and let us know how you get on!

My neighbour noticed my weight loss today it's the first time anyone other than immediate family has noticed!

Dabbles · 11/06/2007 20:25

Hi! I am planning on starting Lipotrim on Monday. Its easier to get (as pharamcy is closer than cdc ) and also cheaper (only £30 per week)

am a bit scared. dp has his doubt (another diet, blah blah) but am determined!

can u exercise? do u hav eenough enegergy? and worried abotu flabby skin?

hifi · 11/06/2007 20:47

yummymummy, been on it a week and a half, i find it really hard and at first always hungry, did cheat and had a couple of spoons of cottage cheese, but still lost weight, cdc says if you have to have food make sure it protein.lost 8 pounds up to now, aiming for 21 in total

hercules1 · 12/06/2007 07:27

I have lost loads and in a very short space of time ie 2 1/2 stone in 11 weeks. I get comments now all the time and I have gone from a size 18-20 to 12 in this time. It is an amazing diet although I understand not for everyone due to the no food thing whilst ss. That suited me great and i am now stuffing myself with 1000 calories until I reach goal weight (1/2 stone to go).

hercules1 · 12/06/2007 07:28

Dh was also cynical but once he saw the weight falling off he has been very encouraging. I am going to become a counsellor as I think it's so good.

lunavix · 12/06/2007 13:03

Hi! Can someone explain this to me please?

I'm currently doing SW and I like the fact that there's so much you can eat but I am putting weight on and not losing it.. feel like I'll try anything at the moment!

yummymummy327 · 12/06/2007 14:44

hi ladies,

Well I have to admit I'm not doing too bad at all and I'm very surprised how the sachets taste!

I had the vanilla this morning and my cdc said she adds 1 teaspoon coffee in hers, so I added that with some crushed ice and I'll tell you it tasted the same as Starbucks vanilla frapachinno! The lactose free mushroom was good as well. I couldn't believe it Are they all this good?

Only thing though, I got into the car a had some sugar free chewing gum, I didn't think about it until about a hr after I did it. Will this effect today at all?

Spooky~ Its always nice when people notice your weight loss, way to go! I can't wait until people start noticing it with me

yummymummy327 · 12/06/2007 14:50

opps forgot to say...

hercules~ I bet your dead chuffed going from a size 18-20 to a 12! Thats fantastic to hear! Hearing about everyones weight loss really just makes me want to stick it out no matter what!

hercules1 · 12/06/2007 15:40

I dont think you're meant to have sugar free gum. It can give you cravings/hunger pangs. Minimins has a brilliant forum for teh cambridge diet with loads of helpful people.

I just have tetras and bars and now cant stomach the packets at all. So much more convenient too.

SpookyMadMummy · 12/06/2007 16:05

Lunavix go onto Minimins.com into the cambridge diet forum, or on the cambridge website and there is all the info you need

Yummymummy glad to day is going well! The only soup I don't like is the tomato, and I rarely have shakes. I have 3 a week cos I find them too sweet. I prefer to have a bar instead

Another person noticed my weight loss today!
Was most pleased, now it really feels like I am losing weight!

yummymummy327 · 13/06/2007 20:46

Hey there!

Did pretty good today, no chewing gum either lol

I find myself really trying to be careful when making dh and children their tea and dinner. Usually I would snack while cooking and I caught myself doing it twice!

My CDC is going on holiday for 2 weeks this friday and tomorrow I need to stock up on food. Since I only started yesterday I don't know what is good or not. Can anyone make any recommendations? Are the bars small and most importantly do they fill you up? What about these tetras I hear some throw them in the freezer and eat them frozen.

Sorry for so many Q's just want to make sure I do this right

SpookyMadMummy · 14/06/2007 07:02

Hi there Yummymummy
Glad its going ok for you!
The bars are off limits unil you have been on SS for 2 weeks, because of the carb content. Stick with it when your CDC is on hols, and just think about the fab loss you will have when you go for that first weigh in when she is back!
Would also suggest minimins as they have ideas about how to make the food packs interesting and information about bars/water flavourings etc.
Keep going!

luciemule · 14/06/2007 14:16

Hi Everyone - just a quickie to say I'm still eating really healthy stuff and the weight is staying off.

Trying to only eat very small amounts of carbs though.

Still on my exercise bike and my 'Lateral Thigh Trainer' arrived yesterday - it looks like a miracle machine - anyone got one?

MunkiBaby · 14/06/2007 14:33

hiya lucie! pleased to see you here and even more pleased to hear how your 'after maintainance' is going. of course we read all sorts of success stories and how much everyone loses each week, but very rarely, we hear of how others are coping after the go back to eating 'normal' food. good for you for doing so well with your eating.
I'm in the process of weaning ds off bobie soooo, ((im my local counsellor will ever get back to me)) i'll hopefully start early next week...im desperate to begin...

oh and my MIL has a LTT and it looks as though the rest of it was left in the delivery truck, just being 'steps', essentially. she swears by it though!

MunkiBaby · 14/06/2007 22:25

ok, i've taken the plunge...
i've been in contact with the local CDC and she'll be coming over in the morning with 2 weeks worth of supplies. as i'm in the process of weaning my 9month old off boobie, im hoping my start date will be monday.

im excited at what the outcome may be months down the road, but im sooo terrified and nervous of "giving" up food. even if it is only temp.

but ihave so much to look forward to, i MUST keep thinking of the positives...
Afterall, what's a handful of months out of the year to be healthy again? right?

((woot!! i'll get to do the dreaded "before" pics...im kinda looking forward to it. ))

i'm hoping this thread will keep going!

how's everyone doing this week at the weigh-ins, btw?

yummymummy327 · 15/06/2007 06:30

Good Morning all!

Well its day 4 and all is going well, although I do miss chewing food. The craving for food is starting to disappear as well. I saw my cdc and got 17day worth of food and got 6 tetras. She said I should use those either my 2nd or 3rd week. I don't mind waiting I just wanted them on hand

Anyone know if peppermint tea is off limits?

Spooky~ Thanks for the website, it's great to go through (when I have time lol) and found some of the ss recipes I'll be trying the crisp today hehe

Lucie~ Thats fantasic that the weight has stayed off! Thats even more encouragment!!!

Munki~ I bet your really excited, I was when I knew I was about to start. Don't think of it as "giving" up food think of it as "gaining" confidence and knowing that we'll be able to enjoy this summer and look good doing it Thats what keeps me going. One tip I've learned since I started, if you feel the urge to eat (which you will) drink your water. It does help I got the water flavorings and they are lovely. It'll be great to have someone who is just starting as well.

Hope everyone is well!!

SpookyMadMummy · 15/06/2007 06:54

hi Yummymummy
As far as I know peppermint tea is ok, I think the rule is tea from the leaf is ok but tea from the flower is off limits
Have a good day!

CayKon · 15/06/2007 10:22

Hi I am considering doing the cambridge diet, has anyone got any advice. Also how much can I expect to loose and how quickly.

MunkiBaby · 15/06/2007 11:26

hiya caykon,
if you click HERE , you will go onto the cambridge diet forum. Im starting on monday, meeting with my local councellor in a couple hours. I have to say that the link i just posted plus reading through this thread (scrolling waay down) has given me total motivavtion. Browse through the Before & After photo forum. its amazing.

As far as how much weight you will lose and how fast, well...to be honest, as with any diet, that is up to you. but from what i hear, if you stick to the plan and drink loads and loads of water, you will see results. Just read thru the link, you will see.

gingernutlover · 15/06/2007 20:14

I've got my BMI down to just under 25 (24.9) but plan to go back on it 1000 cal plan to lose another stone (have managed to maintain since March this year which isn't too bad) ...

Looking forward to getting to know you all

gingernutlover · 17/06/2007 17:19
