Hi everyone, here we are with out 4th thread.
I really can't believe just how well everyone is doing.

Joash 12lb loss in 6 days. That's fantastic. I'm like you, i also have a cheese weakness!!!

hercules1 8lb loss in 6 days. Brilliant.
You don't have to wait until you reach goal before you eat food again.
There are lots of food plans to choose from.
Have you tried FIBRE 89? helps you if you do get constipated.

catsmother I cannot believe that you've lost another 5.5lbs this week.
You are an inspiration to all of us.

gtimama 1st 1lb in 2 weeks is a great loss.

michaelad How are you getting on with day 4?
You can have the berry powder in the first week.
Theres also an orange powder as well. I didn't like this as much!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy How fantastic must you feel losing 22lb in a week?
That has to be the most i've ever heard of.
Well done you.

Sorry that i've not mentioned everyone, but i'd be here all day if i did that.

I've been doing this diet for 13 weeks now and have lost 38lbs and 1/4 oz.
My next weigh in is on wed as my CDC has been away on hol.

Have tried to be good, but also caved in a few times with the kids easter eggs!!!!

Hi Michaelad - sorry to hear you're finding it hard too. I'm really making myself get back on track this week. My DH is back for good now and he wasn't really telling me not to eat so I told him last night he had to be strict. He agreed but then sat in front of the tv scoffing a big bag of nuts and raisins in front of me! I was strong though and this morning I'm hanging out until I really need my shake!
Yes - once we move in August, we really should meet up - that would be good.

UndomesticGoddess · 31/05/2007 10:41

Misdee, thats great!!!

misdee · 31/05/2007 22:38

thank you!

i am bloated today and wearing my smallest size 22 jeans again, but TPTM has just started, so am just going to take it easy and get on with it. i know its not fat weight, just water rentention. must drink more water tomorrow, have managed two pints only today, its really bad.

fussymummy · 01/06/2007 20:49

lucie hope your little one is ok now.
I eat when i'm happy/sad/stressed.
I don't need an excuse really, i'm just a pig!!!

My 6 year old daughter found an empty bag of aero choc balls in the bin.
Confronted me with it!!!
Told me i'd never lose weight while i was scoffing choc!!!

Why are kids soooo right?
Why do they only listen to certain things we tell them?!!!!

I put on 3/4lb this week.

Been to see my doctor again today, because my chest infection still bad. Almost 4 weeks now.
Gave me steroids and more antibiotics.
Would be good to shift this at last.

misdee well done on 3lb loss.
Good to hear people on here still losing weight.

SpookyMadMummy · 03/06/2007 16:36

Well, i nibbled and picked most of this week, but I still managed to lose 4 lb! that takes my total loss to 1 st 4 lb!!!
(I am back to being Spooky now btw)

MunkiBaby · 04/06/2007 09:13

any weigh in's for today? hope you all made it through the weekend. I'm new to this thread, btw. Havent started the diet but have been reading through the cambridge diet threads for insiration to start the program and i've decided to start. i'll hopefully be contacting the counsellor this week...
providing i can fit in this weeks budget

thanks for the inspiration so far and keep the posts coming!

michaelad · 04/06/2007 12:39

Welcome munki! My weigh in's tomorrow so I'll keep you updated then! cool profile, btw. I'm like that with music too!
And I love your hair on the baby in belly pic!
Didn't think much of Hedwig and the angry inch though

MunkiBaby · 04/06/2007 16:54

Hiya Michaelad. thanks ((about the pic)). since then, my hair has been chopped waaay down. i do miss it sometimes. ::sigh:: and as far as music goes, one cannot go wrong with a good mix.

I've been reading this thread from thread#3...and i think i found you on that one, contemplating about joining CD. maybe 2 months was it?? How have the last 2 months been for you?? whats your total loss so far, if you dont mind me asking?

Btw, i luv hedwig &t.a.i. and on that note, i really need to update my profile.

MunkiBaby · 04/06/2007 18:06

oh, i forgot to ask:
at what bmi range do you have to get approved from GP before starting CD?

hifi · 04/06/2007 18:42

Hi everyone. i started ss on sunday, would like to losa 21 pounds. finding it really hard, also having hot flushes, is this normal? cdc has reccomended fresh mint in hot or cold water. had slice of dd apple today and a spoon of her salmon as so hungry. want to look good for my 40th in 3 weeks, dont expect to lose all 21 pounds in that time. what will happen if i come off it for 5 days as i am going away for bday?

michaelad · 04/06/2007 20:00

Munki, the last 2 months have been quite hard at times. I have lost about 25 lbs so far knowing that I could have lost a lot more if I had stuck to CD more strictly. Been on holiday for a week, had friends over from France...but tbh, I don't care. Fact is that I am still losing and so far this is the only diet that has worked for me. It will probably take me an awful lot longer to reach my target weight but so be it.

Go for it..it's not the easiest of diets but it does work!! How much have you got to lose?

luciemule · 04/06/2007 20:01

Hi Munkibaby and Hifi - good luck in your losses on the diet.

I'm posting now having stopped the diet but I'm being positive about it all.
I had lost 2 stone and then put 4 back on then lost another 2/3 so am about 11 stone now. I was 12.10 and I think my body is finding it hard not to eat.

I tried SS again this last week but went a bit loopy (stress from kids/planning meals they never eat and I can't eat/have a DH who never stops eating but is still slim) at the weekend and decided enough is enough and I have to now go it alone with the big help of exercise.

DH did point out that the counsellor probably put the targets at sometimes unachievable numbers (mine is 10 stone) to keep you buying more packs. I'm not sure but I really think drinking chemicals for 4 months has taken its toll. My eyes and skin don't look good.

Sorry to post so negatively with the new people havning to read this before they've started but I have to say that this is the only diet where I have lost so much weight and think it's great for getting great results fast. I've lost 2 of the 3 stone I wanted to lose and now it's up to me.

Will defo still keep posting on this thread though if no-one minds to see how you're all doing. Good luck - Luciex

luciemule · 04/06/2007 20:03

"put on another 4lbs and lost 2/3 lbs" it should have read (not stone!)

michaelad · 04/06/2007 20:04

Well, good luck for the future Lucie!! And don't you dare disappear! Still working on a meetup, remember

luciemule · 04/06/2007 21:05

cool - thanks Michaelad - will definitely keep in touch and meet up.

MunkiBaby · 04/06/2007 23:06

Lucie~ no worries about sounding negative. Like most of you, i've tried every diet available with failure each time. What i'm looking for is a "quick fix", if you will, so that once i get down to a healthier size, i'll stop CD and hopefully ((have retrained my eating habits and relationships with food)) be able to make smarter choices to stay smaller than i am now.

To some extent i can see how some counsellors may fiddle with number or maybe not. or perhaps getting to 25 bmi isnt realistic for everyone. Either way, we're all here for the same reasons and thats to get healthier and change our ways. so even if you lose only 1 stone or 7 stone, your body and heart will be that much happier. And if you feel that your body can't take it any longer (Lucie), then perhaps its best for you to put solids back in for a while. Nothing is worth doing serious damage to yourself, right?

Mich ~ if 25 bmi is the goal, then i probably need to lose.. hmmmm...lemme calculate..oh, 5 1/2 stone. I'm currently at about 37 bmi. I'll make 25 bmi my goal. And hope that i will be able to conquer my 'fooodie' demons. I know it will drop fast BUT I HAVE GOT TO STICK TO IT!

I'll be phoning my local CDC in the morning and arrange to meet, etc. and i'll start on the 15th (friday), hubby's payday. I'm enjoying solids while i can.

luciemule · 05/06/2007 13:08

Thanks Munkibaby - My target set by counsellor was about 23 BMI so it was under to give me a bit of slack but my body just feels that it's fighting to keep some fat now and everything has just disappeared from my bust/face and waist. I feel really self consious about my chest and have less now than when I was a teenager!

I need to get on my exercise bike and start reducing my thighs!

I completely agree about getting down to a good size then changing your habits - I've been really good since the weekend and have had a small bowl museli for brekkie, seeded bagel with tuna/1/2 fat creme fraiche/watercress for lunch and a small healthy tea. I snack on berries and other fruit if I get peckish or a spoonful or two of cottage cheese.

Previously I had kind of built up a afternoon biscuit/cheese nibbling/cereal for supper routine (in additon to meals) so hopefully all will be well and I might even lose more.

hifi · 05/06/2007 18:57

only my 3rd day, 2 crisps, 1 spoon cottage cheese and a sliver of cheese. will it all go to pot? light headed and really hungry.

SpookyMadMummy · 05/06/2007 19:22

Hiya
I doubt it, just try not to do it again! you need to get ketosis established!
Draw a line, begin again tomorrow and if you feel hungry drink more water!

SusieTuesday · 05/06/2007 19:40

Hi everyone,

Been lottering for a couple of days and have found this thread invaluable when deciding whether or not to do the CD.

Must admit that i'm at how well you are doing and love the support that you give each other

Anyway i have decided that i am going to do the CD and have contacted my local CDC who unfortunatly can't see me for 3 weeks as she is on holiday.

To be honest i don't want to wait that long and so i have contacted another CDC who lives slightly futher away and i go tommorrow after work to meet her and get all the info. Although i think i know everything there is to know about doing the CD from reading the post's on here.

Just wanted to say Hi before i start (prob Friday) and i look forward to getting to know you all a bit better xx Susie

michaelad · 05/06/2007 19:43

Hiya, just to say that I've lost another 2lbs this week..and will probably look for a new counsellor since mine isn't happy with me not doing it "properly" and therefore only losing weight slowly..hey, it's my money, so I really don't know what she's complaining about.

michaelad · 05/06/2007 19:44

Oh, and I bought my first pair of size 16 jeans today. First one in years! Yay!!!

misdee · 05/06/2007 19:45

weigh in tomrorow.

CDC is on hols next week so have to buy 2 weeks worth.

michaelad, mine is good, we have adjusted it to work for me for now. she says most peoiple average 1-4lb loss each week ,and i am averaging 3-4lb so doing well.

MunkiBaby · 06/06/2007 06:00

MichaelaD good job on losing another 2lbs!! Shame ot hear that your counsellor isn't working with you. I agree, it's your money and you're still losing weight so why the heck shouldn't you be allowed to do it in a modified fashion??

Oh, and an even bigger congrats on getting into 16 jeans!

fussymummy · 06/06/2007 10:56

Hi, i'm back and feeling a lot better after being ill for 4 weeks!
Feel lots more positive as well.
On monday i decided to start from scratch again, and am doing really well so far.

I've already lost 46 lbs since i started in january, but have become a yo yo for the last few weeks!

Now want to lose more, so i hope i can continue with this positive feeling!

Weigh in tomorrow, but will be happy if i stay the same after all the crap i ate last week!!!
Hope for a good loss next week though.

Spooky Brilliant loss, well done.

Munki Welcome to the world of CD!!
What a cute baby and love your hair.

Hifi If you stick to diet, you'll be able to lose 21 lb no problem.
As for stopping for 5 days, try to eat protein and veg, and snack on fruit. Avoid carbs if you can.

Lucie good luck with going it alone.
You have to keep coming back to let us all know how you're doing. Place won't be the same without you.

Susie Hi, and welcome, good luck.

Michaelad Well done you on changing your counsellor.
You have to do what's right for you.
We all have a long way to go and need to be happy in what we do.
Size 16 jeans as well, you must be feeling good.

I've NEVER even owned a pair of jeans!!!

Misdee you're doing well with your losses each week. Well done.

Sorry for the long post everyone.
Hope i haven't forgotton anyone, just shout at me if i have!!!
