Hi everyone, here we are with out 4th thread.
I really can't believe just how well everyone is doing.

Joash 12lb loss in 6 days. That's fantastic. I'm like you, i also have a cheese weakness!!!

hercules1 8lb loss in 6 days. Brilliant.
You don't have to wait until you reach goal before you eat food again.
There are lots of food plans to choose from.
Have you tried FIBRE 89? helps you if you do get constipated.

catsmother I cannot believe that you've lost another 5.5lbs this week.
You are an inspiration to all of us.

gtimama 1st 1lb in 2 weeks is a great loss.

michaelad How are you getting on with day 4?
You can have the berry powder in the first week.
Theres also an orange powder as well. I didn't like this as much!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy How fantastic must you feel losing 22lb in a week?
That has to be the most i've ever heard of.
Well done you.

Sorry that i've not mentioned everyone, but i'd be here all day if i did that.

I've been doing this diet for 13 weeks now and have lost 38lbs and 1/4 oz.
My next weigh in is on wed as my CDC has been away on hol.

Have tried to be good, but also caved in a few times with the kids easter eggs!!!!

thats fantastic!

fussymummy · 13/05/2007 23:45

Hi everyone, i haven't been on here for a while.
Been really busy and then i've been ill.

misdee i remember when my trousers first started falling down. Couldn't quite believe it!
Where in herts do you live? My sister lives in Waltham Cross.
Did your counsellor ever get you the choc/mint to try? If not and you still want to try it just CAT me with your address and i'll send you one.

lucie if yo find shakes to glooupy, have you tried adding more water?
Or would that be too much for you?

I make all my drinks with double the amount of water. I like the shakes.

Also, lucie you sounded really disheartened, don't give up as you've done well.
My counsellor sits andchats for ages some weeks.
Yours should counsel you more.

Welcome and good luck to spookymadmummy and stoppinattwo. hercules could you pre order with your counsellor? At least you'd get the flavours you want each week.

michaelad if you don't like AAM you don't have to do it.

My counsellor told me that if eating fruit and veg when i want them works for me, then to just continue as i'm doing.

Mind you i have had some bad days recently!!!

Good luck to everyone for this week.

Hello, I'm new to this thread and to mumsnet but this thread has inspired me to join

I started the diet yesterday after seeing my counciler on friday, so second day today, and if I managed to finally lose my weight on this diet I will have you lovely ladies to thank

All of you really are an inspiration, I just hope I can follow in your footsteps!

Landoni112 · 14/05/2007 12:14

morning all,
hope you dont mind me butting in. I have been watching the CD boards for a couple of months as I am trying to do CD, the most I have managed is 10 days ( I lost 10lbs) before completely jumping off the wagon.

That was back in March, now everytime I try and re-start I feel exhuasted (sp) and cant do more than a couple of day without giving in. I have 'only' 2 stone to lose. Why do I feel so tired? I teach 3 days a week, and I have to rush straight home at 3.30 cos I need to lie down ( I am not usually like this) I spend any spare time I am not working in bed, either reading or watching DVDs just so I can lie down. My mood is terrible and I feel quite depressed when I am on the shakes.

I know the first couple of days are ok then you hit the wall as you go into ketosis, but even when i get to day 6 I start to feel like crap.

Any words of wisdom? I am drinking about 5-6 pints a day and am not getting headaches.
I plan to start going to the gym this week for some gentle exercise to see if that helps my energy levels.

I really want to lose a stone cos I have a really important friends wedding in 3 weeks, if that possible? Please please anyone help!
I think you have all done so well, I am always amazed at how well people do on this diet and how much you all have lost, why isnt it working for me?
Thanks, i would really appreciate any replies as it is really getting me down. I am thinking of getting some anti-depressants from my Drs as I have been on them before when I was really low, do you think this will help? x

luciemule · 14/05/2007 13:53

Hello Landoni112 and luckymumto4.
Landoni112 - have you asked GP whether it's a medical thing like anaemia or something because if there's something making you feel so down and tired (eg thyroid or something) then doing the diet will make you feel even more crap and you won't have enough calories to sustain yourself properly.
Maybe ask for a blood test just to rule out anaemia/thyroid then start. Anyway - whatever you do, hope you feel better soon and good luck. It's nice that you teach part time as you're not stuck at home thinking about food, like me! Once I move house, I hope to find lots more to do and get more active.
Fussymummy - nice to see you back. Hope you feel bette too now?
In refernce to glupey shakes, yesterday I finally took my own advice and split my packs. Only the first pack must have had more in as it tasted really nice, I wretched when drinking the second! It was like drinking washing up water!!! Anyway - perhaps I'll just add more water to a full packet and see how that goes. How much have you got left to lose now? A friend has put me in touch with her counsellor, who I know as she used to work with DH, and she told me to call her for some tips as she doesn't think my counsellor is taking enough time with me.

luckymumto4 · 14/05/2007 15:16

thank you for the welcome luciemule

can anyone tell me if I've totally messed up? I was just feeding my baby girl and ate half a baby spoonful of baby porridge!

argh!!!!!! how could I be so stupid.....I just did it without thinking to test it was ok

so have I completely ruined all my hard work over the last two days? I am so annoyed with myself for being so careless

luciemule · 14/05/2007 21:46

No - that won't have messed you up. Blimey if you'd have seen what I ate today, although I wasn't actually in ketosis to start with.....hee hee hee. I always tested temp of DS food by sticking the tip of my tongue into the middle of it (tmi) instead of eating it!

luckymumto4 · 15/05/2007 09:37

thanks luciemule, I'm hoping I've got away with it lol!

I'm on day three today and I don't want to speak too soon but I feel much better todayoh I really really hope I can do this, I want it so badly!

michaelad · 15/05/2007 10:06

Hi Ladies,
whow! Thread's been busy! Just a quick post from my hols in Germany. Obviously not really sticking to CD very much atm what with all my friends constantly inviting me out for drinks and dinners..but hey! Nice to see that more people have joined our struggles

Well, my next weigh in is going to be next monday..and it after my week here in Germany it will probably turn into the weigh in of doom. But I'll just have to get back on the wagon afterwards. Must remind myself that it's the longterm goal that counts even if I lose the weight slower than I could.
screamingd I used to live in Harrow Weald before we moved to Essex. Still visit friends there from time to time.

SpookyMadMummy · 15/05/2007 10:31

Morning all! I made it through day one... I almost ate a bit of cake! but I managed to stop myself at the last second!
Dh is being wonderful and reminding me to drink my water etc..
Surprisingly I htought I would be hungry last night but I wasn't! I did have to get up in the middle of the night tho for the loo! Haven't done that since pg...

luciemule · 15/05/2007 13:25

I spoke to different counsellor this morning for advice (my friend gave me her number) and it was great as she told me it sounded like I was doing well and that the body tends to hold on more to fat once you get nearer your target weight. I've been doing my exercise bike in regular 15 min chunks too which makes me feel better and hopefully with the willpower to throw away the kids' leftovers, I shall be on the way to my target in a month or two!
Hi michaelad - ich hoffe dass, sie einen guten Urlaub in Deutschland haben? Sorry for grammar - it's been a while and I was never good at ein/eine etc when following Dass! Ich habe gestern ein Quark Strudel in Lidl gekauft aber, ich nicht es gegessen hat!

coweyes · 15/05/2007 13:27

BUGGER!!!! For some reason the weight just not shifting. Lost a grand total of 0.8lb this week yet have stuck to SS religiously. Anyway - just measured and I have lost 5 inches from my boobs, 5 3/4 inches from my waist (didn't actually have a waist before ) and 6 inches from my backside since starting this diet .
I can't tell the diference by looking at myself in the mirror, but I've had a driving lesson today and noticed that the seatbelt isn't as tight - and I have finally cracked and bought some new undies because my knickers had started to fall down (which I suppose might prove to be useful in 'mixed' company). too much info there - but hey, who cares .. I'VE GOT A WAIST!!!!!!!!

luciemule · 15/05/2007 13:35

Hi coweyes - i think it says in the book there could be a bit of a lag time where you lose inches but not lbs so perhaps it's that. Are you drinking enough water? I suspect you'll lose the weight next week.

coweyes · 15/05/2007 13:51

Thanks luciemule - as for the water...I can hear it sloshing about when I run up or down stairs ...WIERD!!!!!

hercules1 · 15/05/2007 16:03

I seem to lose a 1lb or nothing one week and then loads the next. It's become a pattern for me but I always notice the difference in my clothing every week

luciemule · 16/05/2007 15:02

just a quickie to say I lost 2lbs this week - and I ate carbs! How strange is that?! Now going to have 3 shakes a day made with milk and then onto the 1000 plan.

luckymumto4 · 16/05/2007 16:06

well done luciemule thats fab! bet you can't wait to start the 1000 plan

I'm on day four now and I'm sure I can feel a difference already

Have you all told people you're doing the cd? I mean apart from oh's.....I wasn't planning on telling many people but I told a relative and she's told loads of people I'm doing it It's not that I mind really, and people have been surprisingly supportive but I'm worried of how stupid I'll look now if I don't stick it out

luciemule · 16/05/2007 16:27

Luckymumto4 - that's exactly why I told quite a lot of people as knew I could give up more easily had I not told anyone.

bendigoblue · 16/05/2007 21:41

Lucie - Excellent! You're so close to finishing!!!

Hello all new people!

I'm still lurking, i've had a lot of wobbly moments but i'm still trying and managed to lose 6lbs this week, making my grand total loss 6 stone exactly. Just 2.5 stone to go and i'm done!

luciemule · 16/05/2007 22:38

hi Bendigo - why are you only lurking and not posting? Well done for your great loss. It's so hard getting that last stone off for me but I shall keep trudging on, trying to get off the hard stuff (Nutella)!
I really do think though that being able to eat a small meal 3 x a day will be a huge help to my blood sugars. It must be that as I'm now only craving sugary stuff.

bendigoblue · 16/05/2007 23:31

Been lurking because i've been so crap at SS!!! The food keeps calling me! Lol. I'll get there, it might just take me longer that it should have lol.

luckylady74 · 17/05/2007 13:40

hi all, feeling a bit rubbish - did really well - week 1 lost 8lbs and then 7lbs week 2, but i'm being weighed tomorrow and i can tell by my scales that i've lost 2lbs at the most - i haven't cheated once! i can put up with the feeling weak if the weight's dropping off that fast, but i lost 2lbs a week with weightwatchers and i could eat with my kids! please tell me i'll; lose tons next week because i feel like giving up.

bendigoblue · 17/05/2007 14:33

If you've stuck to it 100% there's no way you aren't losing inches even if it's not showing on the scales. Is it TOTM? Sometimes that can make you retain water, or if you aren't drinking enough you can retain water too.

Don't panic, next week will probably be a bumper loss if this week isn't, sometimes that's just the way it happens, big loss one week, small the next. It'll all even out in the end!

luckylady74 · 17/05/2007 21:07

thanks bendigo - you're my role model! i'll give it another week.

SpookyMadMummy · 18/05/2007 15:36

Day 5 of SS today and I am finding it a bit hard I was hungry earlier for the first time, I had some water and a pack at lunch and it passed though. I went to supermarket to do the family shop and it reminded me what I am missing out on
