Lose a stone for Christmas - 14lb in 14 weeks

I have struggled in the past to find the motivation to lose weight. I found it quite unexpectedly last November thanks to a 'lose a stone by Christmas' thread. However, I'm a slow loser and 8 weeks wasn't long enough for me to lose a stone. I managed it by the end of January, but then had a family bereavement and I've struggled to get back on track since. But I would really like to lose some more weight.

What helped me last year was the accountability of being on a thread. I controlled my calories using My Fitness Pal, but it was so helpful having other people to talk to who were having the same struggles.

So, if anyone would like to join me, I'd be grateful for some company. 14 pounds in 14 weeks takes us to 7 days before Christmas.

I weighed in this morning and I was 10 8.8. I will stick with a Sunday morning weigh-in as I take DS swimming so can use the scales there.

I plan to use MFP, cut out snacks and make good decisions on my meals to stay within my calorie allowance.

You are right - another 0.8lb this morning just living normally life and had a great walk last night with my chum. I am weighting every day at the moment just to reassure myself that it is doable though expect things will slow down shortly.
You are amazing - 2lbs is nothing and then you will be on that downward trend again ready for Christmas party season.
Onwards and inwards.

JugglingMummyof2 · 07/09/2018 16:06

Another 0.4 this morning - just need to keep it going now ......

JugglingMummyof2 · 09/09/2018 13:03

Only 0.2 in 2 days but at least it is going in the right direction.

IheartCaptainHolt · 09/09/2018 18:27

You are doing really well!

We are going away tomorrow but I've done a shop to take with us and it's our usual one so should be no problems staying on plan minus a couple of small treat.

JugglingMummyof2 · 09/09/2018 21:55

Have a great break Iheart - I'll be here checking in each day or two and hoping for a steady decline. I had a lovely weekend so am not missing out too much.

Whisky2014 · 09/09/2018 21:58

JugglingMummyof2 · 10/09/2018 19:37

Onwards and inwards Grin

JugglingMummyof2 · 13/09/2018 08:41

Right 9st 5.6 today. Straight and narrow.

IheartCaptainHolt · 17/09/2018 18:45

Welcome @Whisky2014!

I'm back from holiday, started well food wise then descended into madness! Was only away for a week though and I went for a run every day so not a total disaster.

Now back on the straight and narrow @JugglingMummyof2 so I'm putting off weigh in until next week when the scales will be more favourable!

Onwards and downwards we go!

JugglingMummyof2 · 17/09/2018 18:51

Yes I am with you - I didn't weigh Sunday or today but I will tomorrow. Hard to be constantly on the straight and narrow but I made more good choices than bad ones and you have been on your hols!

Whisky2014 · 17/09/2018 18:59

Well i am too afraid to weigh myself. I know a week past i was 12st and since then i had my hen do which consisted of lots of 3 course dinners and drinking! Yikes. Sitting eating some prawn and spaghetti thing my fiance made. Total comfort food after a heavy weekend. Need to be on it seriously now. Wedding soon!

JugglingMummyof2 · 18/09/2018 06:50

Today is a brand new day my chums - up and at it Grin!

Amazonfromkent · 18/09/2018 08:41

Hi all. I'm 45, 5'5 and almost 12 stone. I drink too much, smoke too much and drink too much coffee. I need to stop being a mess and go back to 10.5 stone which is perfect for me. Please can I join? Day 1 of diet and a new healthy way of life. God give me strength!

ShakeMe · 18/09/2018 10:34

Hi can I join too?! Weighed myself this morning and I'm 11st13 and I'm done being big fat and wobbly. I'm short and it just isn't a good look.

I feel like lots of parts of my life would improve if I wasn't so unfit and lazy and I never want to join in anything as I'm too self conscious. I've lost myself. ooh sorry that's deep for a Tuesday morning

JugglingMummyof2 · 18/09/2018 22:04

Everyone is welcome here - it has been just Iheart and I for the last 6 months so the more the merrier.
Amazon welcome - call it 19lbs to lose and it doesn't sound too much - you can do it.
ShakeMe I am a shorty too and so extra weight shows more - Ggggrrr but we can draw a line in the sand and say this is the first day of the rest of out life. Stock up on healthy food and see what you can achieve by Friday morning - 3 days of focus and try and get out for a walk each day as well.
Keep us posted

JugglingMummyof2 · 19/09/2018 07:30

9st 5.2 - onwards and inwards. Resisted three temptations yesterday but gave in to one and it was lovely.

JugglingMummyof2 · 21/09/2018 07:26

9st 5 and onwards ( posting every time I lose while I get back to where I was before the hols in an attempt to keep myself on track.
How is everyone doing?

anitagreen · 21/09/2018 09:57

Hiya is it ok to join? I'm 14stone 2 and I'd like to be 12 stone for Christmas if possible I have no idea where to even start Blush

JugglingMummyof2 · 21/09/2018 18:18

Welcome anitagreen You could start by....
Walking more and increasing your veg ratio to carbs.
Stop eating at a specific time each night.
Drink a glass of water before each meal.
Eat more soup.

anitagreen · 21/09/2018 22:25

thanks for the welcome jugglingmummyof2 I used to eat so much soup and walk everywhere I don't know why I stopped to be honest? Maybe laziness I guess. Water idea is a good one to x

JugglingMummyof2 · 23/09/2018 11:27

anitagreen you stopped because life got in the way and then it is easy to get out of the habit. Start again today - make a few portions of soups for lunches, put on your shoes(and rain coat if it is like London) and get out there. Longest journey starts with the first step... and all that stuff!!

JugglingMummyof2 · 26/09/2018 18:29

9st 4.6 though I think I may be posting to myself ......

IheartCaptainHolt · 26/09/2018 19:28

I'm here! 3lb on but been on holiday, git my period and had this horrible virus that's doing the rounds so hey ho.

Have, however, got into some size 12 jeans today for the first time in about 15 years so very happy about that!
