Lose a stone for Christmas - 14lb in 14 weeks

I have struggled in the past to find the motivation to lose weight. I found it quite unexpectedly last November thanks to a 'lose a stone by Christmas' thread. However, I'm a slow loser and 8 weeks wasn't long enough for me to lose a stone. I managed it by the end of January, but then had a family bereavement and I've struggled to get back on track since. But I would really like to lose some more weight.

What helped me last year was the accountability of being on a thread. I controlled my calories using My Fitness Pal, but it was so helpful having other people to talk to who were having the same struggles.

So, if anyone would like to join me, I'd be grateful for some company. 14 pounds in 14 weeks takes us to 7 days before Christmas.

I weighed in this morning and I was 10 8.8. I will stick with a Sunday morning weigh-in as I take DS swimming so can use the scales there.

I plan to use MFP, cut out snacks and make good decisions on my meals to stay within my calorie allowance.

BH was lovely - too lovely but ho hum 8st 8.6.
Very much looking forward to the summer - I cannot deny it!!

JugglingMummyof2 · 06/06/2018 10:53

Back in the saddle 8st 7lbs.
So close to getting under 8.5 - next week for sure!
How are thing with you Iheart?

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/06/2018 11:07

Sorry I forgot to post last week!

8st 5 is very doable, you are very close!

Put on 1.5lb last week. I've been back on it 100% 90% this week so hopefully I'll have maintained or lost this week. Going to be back on it weigh loss wise from July as I've bought another 12 week countdown to lose this last stone.

Ive only put on 2.5lb since early April though so not bad really

JugglingMummyof2 · 07/06/2018 20:23

You have done so amazingly well Iheart - I am in awe of your success and 2.5lbs is nothing at all to put on as a percentage of the amount you have lost.
I am determined to get there. 8st 13lbs was my aim when I started but 8st 6.8lbs will be even better.

IheartCaptainHolt · 08/06/2018 07:53

4lb off! Back on it again although going out for our wedding anniversary tonight so might just maintain this week. 11 lb to target so want to be there by end of September.

How are the exams going?

JugglingMummyof2 · 08/06/2018 10:55

Iheart - it is not your wedding anniversary today is it? That would be too much of a co-incidence as it is ours too - 22 years today.
4lbs in a week - you are back on it - onwards and inwards.
Exams are going well - 7 left out of 25 so we are getting there.

IheartCaptainHolt · 08/06/2018 11:28

It was yesterday so close enough! Only 5 years for us though. Glad you are nearing the end of exam season, just think of the relief when you get there!

IheartCaptainHolt · 20/06/2018 21:47

Sorry I've been absent, put 1.5lb on this last fortnight. I've bobbed up and down over the last 8 weeks but I'm sane weight now was I was 8 weeks ago so maintaining has gone alright.

Got another 1/2 stone or a stone to loose so after next week I'll be back on it.

JugglingMummyof2 · 23/06/2018 17:30

I lost you and found you again!
Lost track of days since the GCSEs finished (despite having DD2 still going to school) and forgot to weigh in on last week. I will be back on it this week.

JugglingMummyof2 · 27/06/2018 09:26

8st 7.2
Given all the BBQ's we have had then I will take that result - what a fab summer weather wise.
How are you doing?

IheartCaptainHolt · 27/06/2018 19:06

1lb this week. I've been totally off plan food wise though. Can't go to SlimmingWorld the next two weeks as we've got stuff on so it's back on the wagon after that.

On the plus side I went to a wedding on Saturday and wore a dress I've not fit into since pre both DC so that was good!

Is it all calm in your house now that exams are over?

Are you enjoying your new summer bod?!

IheartCaptainHolt · 27/06/2018 19:06

Why did I write bod??!! I hate that word!

JugglingMummyof2 · 28/06/2018 21:55

I am - I had a great day snapping up things in the Hobbs 70% off sale - must maintain now otherwise they will not fit!

IheartCaptainHolt · 18/07/2018 22:23

@JugglingMummyof2 I'm slinking back onto the thread. Went to SlimmingWorld tonight after two wayward weeks off. 3.5lb on which puts me at 13st 2 which is a full 6lb up on my lowest weight -argh!

Anyway, I've been back on track for the last 5 days so it could be worse. Got another 1.5lb to go so it's nose to the grindstone for me.

How are you getting on? When do DD's get their exam results?

JugglingMummyof2 · 19/07/2018 07:24

Hello
All mostly well but cannot get under the 8st 7lbs I would like. I nearly get there but the weather has been so great that we end up having a blow out date which undoes all the good work.
Results day on the 23rd August so still a few weeks of limbo until then. I have bopped around from 8st 7.2 to 8st 8.8 over the last few weeks three weeks - ho hum. We will get there and this is the extra motivation I need before our holiday in less than three weeks.

JugglingMummyof2 · 27/07/2018 10:06

Finally there - 8st 6.6 - at last. I suspect it is from eating the large variety of berries we are growing with every meal and sometimes with thick greek yogurt for a meal.
How are you doing?

IheartCaptainHolt · 01/08/2018 21:55

Well done! How does it feel?

I have been doing not so well (hence my silence!) put 7.5lb on over a month Shock
But just been to weigh in and I've lost 4.5lb this week so only 3lb to get back to my lowest. I've got 1st 2lb to lose to get to target, might do another 7lb after that but we will see.

JugglingMummyof2 · 16/08/2018 12:31

Back from hols - half board - buffets galore - omelette station - bacon - poached eggs - pastries and that was just what I ate for breakfast....
I'll get my coat.....
Seriously though I know the weight I have put on will be gone bar a pound or three by Wednesday. Pity we go away agai at the end of the month....
How are you?

IheartCaptainHolt · 16/08/2018 15:04

I've pretty much lost all I put on so that is good. Had a few wobbles over the last couple of weeks but back on it now.

I think that you can be sensibleish in holiday but you don't want to ruin your enjoyment of it!

Have you had exam results today?

JugglingMummyof2 · 16/08/2018 16:45

That is good news. No exam results until next Thursday - perhaps the sick feeling will take the edge off my giant appetite! Just want DD to feel happy and get to stay on at her school for 6th form as it is very selective. I believe in her but this year has been so strange with the new exams/grading/syllabus. Gulp....

JugglingMummyof2 · 24/08/2018 11:50

Well we are through the GCSEs and DD did really well. She is very happy and so am I. So that is the good news....
Lunch out and dinner from Dominos to celebrate and we are now off on holiday tomorrow for a week.... Shall I check back in September when I refocus??

IheartCaptainHolt · 24/08/2018 14:01

Well done to your DD. I am focused again now, got 1.5 stone I'd like off by Xmas. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and good idea to check back in September. We can keep each other on the straight and narrow!

JugglingMummyof2 · 26/08/2018 16:04

Yes consider it done. We get back the 1st and I am back into work on the 3rd so onwards and inwards from there. Check in on 5th September and then every Wednesday from then until Christmas would give us 16 weeks. Very doable :-]

JugglingMummyof2 · 05/09/2018 10:35

Oh dear oh dear - well I can only assume I must have eaten 10,000 calories a day, each and every day, I was on holiday. When I stepped on the scales I got such a shock as I appeared to have put on 10lbs in 8 days AND I still hadn't lost all the excess from the previous holiday. I am therefore one stone higher than I was in July.
So refocus started on Sunday and so far 4lbs in 4 days with just normal routine/eating/exercise.
9st 8.4 - onwards and inwards.

IheartCaptainHolt · 05/09/2018 17:31

It'll come off quickly, it'll be carb and booze bloat!

I'm back to 2lb from my lowest so feeing a bit more positive about it. Another stone off for Xmas would be bloody brilliant!

I'm going to Scotland next week but self catering so I'm determined to maintain st worst. I will not put weight on whilst on my holiday!

I am a whisker away from 3st lighter than I was when this thread started so that is a very good feeling!
