BOOP and Arsey for that matter?

QuimReaper · 01/08/2017 13:48

I've just had a very pleasing weigh-in - 4 Lindas down! Grin

That means I've lost pretty steadily at 0.5 Lindas a day (which seems to be my standard when Goldening) meaning I should be another 1.5 down by the Final Weigh in on Friday, putting me about where I was when I went to America.

Dinner plans on Friday. After 11 dry nights with very little I am going to get wasted on a mouthful of wine Grin

ponygirlcurtis · 01/08/2017 14:26

Good going Quim. Very impressed with your sticking power!

TV I had a tin of soup for lunch on both my fast days - oxtail and chicken and mushroom are the lowest carb with decent protein amounts. I also generally eat low carb - for lunch at work I stick about 170-180g of frozen mixed veg in a tub and add some protein - roast chicken or a tin of tuna - then add a small amount of something as a sauce/flavouring like pesto, mayo or cream cheese (all full fat). Very quick and easy to put together, I do a couple at a time so I have multiple lunches ready. The veg is defrosted by lunch and I microwave. I often get colleagues commenting how good my lunches look!

TVHubbyClaire · 01/08/2017 14:50

quim well done, an average of 3 - 4 Lindas a week sounds very impressive Smile

thanks pony I think I will have to pick up on these fast days when I get back from holiday, I can see tuna and salad and babybel possibly working...(as I munch on a cadbury's mini finger whilst typing Blush )

BitOutOfPractice · 01/08/2017 14:54

You've got a sweet tooth TV
*
Quim* that's an absolutely brilliant result! Well done! Smile

boop - i don't have many teethSad........I'm not sure why

exhaustedtwinmummy · 01/08/2017 19:07

Right... I'm in! Term time job so I have the whole of August to attempt to get on track. Being out and about with the children makes it hard for me to diet but MUST lose what I put on in the lead up to summer holidays!!! Weighed yesterday and actual numbers written down scare me too much but am 3lb more than I was a month ago. Half a stone would be a good start (but to be honest...not putting any on in the hols would actually be ok tooBlush)

beepbeeprichie · 01/08/2017 19:23

Hello, room for a wobbly one? I'm currently on the couch to 5k thread working on my fitness but I really need some extra support on the food front. Got a family do the first weekend of September so it's HARDCORE for August for me.

PlumFairy2014 · 01/08/2017 20:33

This thread has already been a bit of an eye opener.
I would like to join. I weighed myself today and I am embarrassed and shocked. 11st11, which at 5"4 makes me very overweight.
I started the 30 day shred yesterday and usually do over 10k steps (toddler!), but I over eat massively.
I used to fast 18:6 Monday to Friday and eat whatever at the weekend. Going to ease myself into doing this again.
I used to run at least 15 miles a week this time last year. Sad

PlumFairy2014 · 01/08/2017 20:35

Quim is a Linda a pound? That's great! Any tips much appreciated. Smile

poorpaws · 01/08/2017 22:32

Only a fool would eat half their body weight before their weekly weighin at Weight Watchers. I am a fool ☹️

BitOutOfPractice · 01/08/2017 23:32

Paws when I did WW, sometimes those were the best weeks

Plum hello and welcome. And yes, a Linda is a pound. S tuo that went down in the annals

Pony Happy anniversary Flowers

Today I've done loads of steps including a run, I've done loads of resistance training. I've started an abs Challenge. I've drunk 2+ litres of water and stayed under my calorie goal. I've had no booze. So why aren't I think yet? Angry

Sorry I realise my last post was a little on the preachy/bossy side, I am just trying to help TV honest Flowers

10.4 so back at lowest low, not at work today so I have to avoid nibbling and picking while I finish packing and cleaning the house before we go away tomorrow!

Going to a probably wet bbq at MILs later, so will be fasting till then, have to work out the best way of using up the dregs of our fridge as some sort of take along food to this bbq, I have 4 eggs 1 corn on the cob, fresh chillis, onion and garlic, maybe some sort of mexican corn fritters?

HairsprayBabe · 02/08/2017 06:42

P.S welcome newbies beep and plumb Grin this is the best thread on mumsnet, and I could not have lost the ammount I have with out it!

Squiffy01 · 02/08/2017 07:29

Sneaks in.

I haven't looked up what I was at the start of July cause I don't want to know exactly how much i have gained but it has been going in the wrong direction by a lot. Can't seem to get myself in line. This week I'm attempting to cut out unhealthy snacks - haven't been perfect but have made progress.
Haven't been to WW for weeks and weeks as I'm too embarrassed to go and step on the scales.

PlumFairy2014 · 02/08/2017 08:03

I know the feeling Squiffy. I had a good cry and promised not to see that number on the scales ever again.

QuimReaper · 02/08/2017 09:07

Welcome beep and Plum, you're Slenderistas now!

Plum yes, a "Linda" was an autocorrect fail that shot straight into our vernacular. We like to think of Linda as that thick-skinned slightly socially-unaware neighbour who doorsteps you and you can't get rid of, so you end up being really firm and borderline rude just to see the back of her Grin

You've actually got me at a bad / good time in terms of tips: at the end of July I decided I WAS WAS WAS going to ditch as much of the half-stone which has crept on since Spring, and I decided to go on an eleven-day "Golden" sprint: basically no booze, no carbs, squillions of steps and very little food to make for a whacking calorie deficit. 4 Lindas in 8 days is never normally my going rate, but I'm very pleased with it!

More generally though, since you're new I'll introduce you to my Patented 2:2:3 Diet: basically Mon-Thurs I aim for two Fast Days (500 calories) and two Golden Days (no booze, no carbs, decent steps, and generally trying to come in around 1000cals). That allows for full bacchanalia at the weekend, which is the other 3 Grin

I can lose about half a Linda a week on that if I stick at it, which is slow going, but I can stick at it which is the main thing. Something we've talked a lot about here is finding something sustainable: I can go cold turkey on carbs and booze and all that, and stick at it, if I know when my "release date" is: others can't "let go" at weekends because they find it impossible to find the wagon again in the week. It's all about figuring out what's comfortable for you, even if it goes more slowly, because as I'm sure lots of us can testify, super-efficient gloriously golden diets only work if, y'know, you actually do them, and if you get demoralised it can take months to get the enthusiasm for dieting back again.

There now - bet you didn't count on an essay, didja Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 02/08/2017 09:09

A fair bit lower than I was yesterday thank fook.

Think that was mainly water and heavy dinner weight but still a lot more than I should be. Angry

Off work today which is good as there is no biscuit tin of temptation at home!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/08/2017 09:13

Morning morning! I'm feeling all up and at 'em today. Food planned, exercise planned. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Quimmy you speak wise words of Slenderista sense Smile

Squiffy come here and be comforted by our warm embrace. Finding your mojo again is bloody hard. But you know what I'm going to say...get back to WW. You know that the longer you put it off, the less likely you are to ever go back. You know your leader has seen it all before a million times and will not judge. You can do it Flowers

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 02/08/2017 09:13

Oh and hairspray well done on bring back to your lowest low Star

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 02/08/2017 09:16

Oh and yes, 16:8 is fab if you can do it!

Mad props on the running - if you had that level of fitness last year it really shouldn't be difficult to get it back up when you want to.

BOOP that is a mega golden day! I bet you woke up this morning thin as a rail Wink I noticed you'd been stepping like a fiend, every time I sneak past you you go galloping ahead again, sneaky creature.

Squiffy oh you silly thing, you must know avoiding the scale is not helping! You're like me, never wanting to check my bank balance until I've just been paid, because obviously that's the clever way to manage finances.

Can we cheer you into going to the next WW meeting? I've never been to a WW meeting but surely they're supposed to be supportive environments - if you stand up and say "guys, I've fallen off the wagon massively, now I'm back with renewed enthusiasm" and grab the bull by the horns, I bet you'll feel a million times better. Hiding from the scales is much more likely to send you into a spiral.

Have you weighed yourself and you know the damage, or do you not want to go because you don't want to know?

lastqueenofscotland · 02/08/2017 09:22

Squiffy the mistake I made last week was scale-hiding. Sadly it doesn't help Sad

BitOutOfPractice · 02/08/2017 09:23

Quim me sneaky? It's you that's the sneaky sneakster!

Won't be getting so many in today as I'm spinning at the gym, not running. So I expect i shan't see you for dust

Morning slenderistas, old and new!

It's actually sunny here, for how long who knows.

Go squiffy. Everyone is there for the same reason.

BOOP you have had a golden day! May you have another.

Hairspray you are not preachy. You are my poster girl Grin

Hope you are babybelled up TV.

Today I am going to attempt a sort of fast. Not going to calorie coins but having v small portions and lots of water. I feel like it. So why not do it.

BeardofZeus · 02/08/2017 09:43

Hello hello! A newbie here too as well.. aiming to lose 7 lindas (Grin)in 6 weeks in time for an AI holiday... work hard now to eat/drink hard later? Surely all the motivation I need! She says sat on the sofa with a chocolate cereal bar ... oh well!

How do you guys prep your low carb meals with family food? Is there any way of replacing spaghetti easily? I love the frozen veg/tuna mixup idea... i normally eat soup for lunch but I find I al starving come 5pm so snack when I get in from work so perhaps I need to eat something like an egg in the mid afternoon...
