I just had a salad from the work canteen, with a boiled egg! Grin

AHAH "Pizza weight" was my weight for a looooong time Quim Spoke to DM on the phone earlier - apparently I do not need to lose more weight.... I disagree.

Just put in a job application for a new role in a new company, fingers crossed please senderistas!

QuimReaper · 23/08/2017 13:52

It is so bloody annoying when people say things like that Angry Luckily my family never seem to comment on my weight but even the well-meaning "Good god woman, would you EAT something!" comments from friends piss me off a bit. But that is definitely me being unreasonable Blush

Fingers firmly crossed for you!

I think it's because she was so used to seeing me fat that now I am "normal" it is almost a shock to her.

Saying that my BMI is currently 23.5 and the NHS says that risks of weight related health problems are effected from BMI's of 23+ so I would rather have more of a buffer, especially if I need an evening of cocktails, or a whole pizza to myself from time to time Grin

KOKO. We can all be here for you to take the first step - although I feel you've done that already by being here

Don't be so hard on yourself. X

TVHubbyClaire · 23/08/2017 18:10

quim I appreciate all you say and i typically never buy snacky things at inflated prices. My dieting and MN thread is my own little project and I would never come up with it on my own so I will just go to shop near work and keep at work rather than starting to do stuff at home that I would never do normally....we eat fairly healthy at home as it is (apart from when I hit the ice cream) so during the week at work is my thing

KOKO i know better than most how it is one or even half a Linda at a time, can you skip breakfast (or just have a coffee at breakfast time with kids?) I found that a pretty straightforward way to cut out some calories and most days I make it to lunch without passing outSmile

Softpebbles · 23/08/2017 20:17

Not been on here too much recently so I'm trying to catch up but wanted to say to KOKO that you will never be judged on here are there will always be someone else who has been through the same thing. It's so hard trying to lose a bit of weight and cut back on foods without everyone in the house making a bloody song and dance about it!! Grin

And don't get me started on people making comments about my weight, it's so rude when people say "what you dieting for? There's nothing on you".... Sooo annoying and no-one elses business Angry

Hope you are all ok, can't wait till the Krays are back in school and I'm not having to prepare food all the time!!!

poorpaws · 23/08/2017 22:27

Koko Flowers it will be ok, it really will be ok - one small step at a time.

QuimReaper · 23/08/2017 23:13

lees are your kids called Ronnie and Reggie? Grin

softy TV has intimated before that we are his little secret, I do wonder what Mrs TV would think if she found out!

koko I think you should start at 1500 calories and see how you go. Do you have MFP? The barcode scanner function is a godsend, you do need to be prepared for a lot of laborious weighing though!

HairsprayBabe · 24/08/2017 08:00

You can do it Koko small changes are the best way forwards if you feel overwhelmed Flowers

10.6 for me +2 from my lowest low, hoping for a shift if I can have a good weekend!

leesmum · 24/08/2017 08:12

Quim .. sometimes Grin

TVHubbyClaire · 24/08/2017 08:36

soft yes .....one of them Blush

a static 12st 9 this morning and I want a big push next week to try and end the month closer to 12 st 7

Going out for chinese on saturday night which won't help but hopefully I will find some lighter options for a change, difficult to change when I have eaten largely the same things at chinese restaurants for over 35 years.....at least there will be minimal booze because our 10k starts at 9am on Sunday. There will no doubt be a big lunch out somewhere to follow thoughSad

HairsprayBabe · 24/08/2017 08:46

www.caloriescount.com/chinese.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

www.eatthis.com/8-diet-experts-order-chinese-restaurants

The above are handy TV also, ask for any sauce to come on the side!

TVHubbyClaire · 24/08/2017 08:53

Thank you so much hairspray

I did have a feeling that my chicken and sweetcorn soup needed to become hot and sour or wonton, thankfully I ditched things like spring rolls and other fried stuff ages ago

I always like sweet and sour prawn with fried rice.....I guess I will be asking for no flour on prawns and boiled rice, might not be too bad and I can expalin it with run coming up next morning

HairsprayBabe · 24/08/2017 08:57

No probs, remember Chinese food is notorious for salt content, so drink loads of water to avoid any bloat that you might get otherwise.

TVHubbyClaire · 24/08/2017 09:37

yes definitely be on the water(and only one or two glasses of wine)

I think i will definitely go steamed not fried rice and perhaps change soups but I think I may need the light flour on my prawns......

BitOutOfPractice · 24/08/2017 09:40

How about something like Kung po prawnsthat have no batter?

God I want Chinese now Blush

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 24/08/2017 10:26

I am so impressed that you can go out for Chinese without the spring rolls, I would find that defeating the object Blush

In Asian restaurants I always just have a stir fry without rice. I just don't really see the point of rice, to me it is pointless stodge that takes up precious spring roll space Grin but I never feel unsatisfied. I know other people feel very differently though, Chinese without egg fried rice is sacrilege to DH.

QuimReaper · 24/08/2017 10:27

I'm surprised chicken & sweetcorn soup has to go, surely that's pretty healthy?

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 24/08/2017 10:32

Boop that’s an amazing loss! Well done Smile

KOKO I agree with the others, just take it one step at a time. Though if you are struggling generally, getting help is a really good idea. Flowers for you!

Hairspray that's a good loss! Also fingers crossed for the job application!

I am also craving Chinese now! Sadly I'm doing a fast day today, I am going to have salad and boiled eggs (yep) for lunch, and a Moroccan lentil stew thing for dinner. Should come in at 500 calories.

TVHubbyClaire · 24/08/2017 10:35

I thought it was higher calorie than a won ton or hot and sour soup quim but hey I might be wrong and that would be good, I will research that one. I am no fan of chinese spring rolls but vietnamese ones and the cold salad rolls I adore

BOOP I will look at some options for a change rather than barely looking at menu and ordering my old favourites, I do actually like other dishes so something else may not be a total sacrifice Smile

HairsprayBabe · 24/08/2017 10:39

You could try yuk sung if they have it, shredded pork in a lettuce leaf, comes with glass noodles but you can always skip on them!

I don't really like chinese food, I love wagamamas though!
