OMG

I had the best day ever.

I just wandered around the Royal Mile. Chatted to random people. Ascended the Scott Monument.

It was fabulous. I haven't nurtured my inner Scot for years. I love it here.

HairsprayBabe · 22/08/2017 08:08

Sounds like you are having an Amazing time Niki!

10.8 for me, another fast day on the cards, having stirfry for tea tonight and just kicked the day off with a bpc.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/08/2017 08:39

Morning!

Utterly golden day yesterday apart from not making it to the gym. Will rectify that today.

Niki that sounds amazing. Maybe you should look for a job up there...

NikiBabe · 22/08/2017 09:15

I could look for a job up here but I'd need to do more exams. Scottish law is different.

I wish I was here longer now. Sad

So many more things I want to see.

But Scotland isn't far away I guess.

NikiBabe · 22/08/2017 09:20

I haven't done any exercise since Wednesday.

Not eaten great but not exactly stuffed my face either.

Wont weigh when I get home and will wait until I get back in the routine of exercise and eating better.

Softpebbles · 22/08/2017 09:47

I imagine you have done loads of walking though Nikki so I am sure that will count - its not like you've sat and done nothing for a few days.

What sort of field do you work in Nikki - would you consider doing something different / lower just to get back into work and give you a focus?

Lost my way a little - will be back on it soon I hope!

Well done on the Golden day BOOP. You will soon be back to where you were Hairspray with your determination.

House move Last - I hope that it went well.

TV - I wouldn't be too concerned with that gain - it will be gone in no time :)

Haven't weighed in for more than a week.......

TVHubbyClaire · 22/08/2017 10:21

So pleased you are having fun Niki, I think Edinburgh is a great place even outside the festival, we would like to live there sometime too.

Up a Linda from yesterday so 12st 10 which is disappointing but not surprising as post holiday blues meant I ate badly yesterday Sad

Going to get back on the wagon soon I hope, a very slow 10K "race" booked for Sunday which I'm not looking forward to at all......

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 22/08/2017 11:04

Morning all!

Hope things went well with the move Last!

Welcome back Boop and TV Smile congrats both on the very very low holiday gains! TV I'm sure it'll come off as soon as you get settled back on the wagon.

Niki it sounds like you are having an amazing time!

I went up one Linda over the weekend, hoping to get that off ASAP. Aiming to be very golden this week, but I can't see that I will fit in much exercise, which is a shame. I'm hoping to lose 2lbs by the weekend, ideally 4lbs by the end of the month.

QuimReaper · 22/08/2017 12:04

HARUMPH MN just ate my post! Angry

Suffice it to say it was erudite, thrilling, detailed and riveting in every detail.

I'll come back and re-type it when I've stopped sulking Grin

Stellar67 · 22/08/2017 14:25

I'm sure it was Quim.

I'm working on a Golden day today food wise. Must stay on track. I am going for one day at a time now. Because anymore is too much to ask my weary mind.

HairsprayBabe · 23/08/2017 07:57

Morning all,

10.6 so lost the Pizza weight, this is a pretty decent mid week weight for me, hoping for a few more lbs off before the end of the week, some boozy plans this weekend, but I might just pretend to drink to avoid maxing out on pointless calories.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/08/2017 08:16

Morning. I'm down again this morning. Holiday weight gone. Only 3lbs up from my lowest. Two more golden days this week before a mini festival thing on Friday which I'm very excited about.

I'm hoping I can hover around this weight or a little lower by the end of august, then I'm going to have a really big Golden Month in September.

OP posts:
TVHubbyClaire · 23/08/2017 08:33

I am back at 12st 9 today so 3 lbs up from lowest too, more luck than good management I would suggest

Next week I'm going to really get on it,Hmm

I can't remember all the healthy day snacks I should be having and will need reminders....babybel cheese ......and I guess its only one of those now and then, I remmeber hairspray telling me about useless(?) carbs so thats what I want to focus on next week

BitOutOfPractice · 23/08/2017 09:02

TV Quim will be here any moment to say "EGGS!"

OP posts:
TVHubbyClaire · 23/08/2017 09:59

Grin boop can't do eggs as it will be stuff i can buy at supermarket and take to work.

Can't really do home preparations as exciting as 3 days of nothing but eggs sounds

BitOutOfPractice · 23/08/2017 10:22

You can buy boiled eggs at the supermarket. In M&S you can get it in a little pot with spinach or ham.

I'd also say nuts are a good choice but you have to be able to trust yourself to stop when you've had your portion

Ham, prawns, all good.

Also have you seen those little chicken satay sticks in the cooked meat section. They are a great little low carb high protein snack. Very low cal too.

Spoilt for choice you are now!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/08/2017 10:23

I mean this sort of thing

We're all going on a slimmer holiday! 7lbs or bust in August!
OP posts:
TVHubbyClaire · 23/08/2017 10:50

boop thank you - we have an M&S fairly close to office so I will be going there and stocking up on eggs and babybel and other bits,

16 satay sticks sounds like quite a good portion for lunchSmile

I feel like I am going to have a personal expert menu planning service before the end of the week Grin and can see this making a difference

In the words of the Proclaimers....bananas no more!

Hello KeepOn and welcome back.

First of all don't panic. Take some deep breaths and know that we have all done this and more before. You can do it!

What method wwere youusing before?

Have you used MyFitnessPal? Youcould try logging everything for a few days, see where your patterns are, where you've got room for improvement and adjust from there.

Also, have you got chance / opportunity to exercise? I find that makes all the difference to my mindset

TV you're not supposed to eat all 16 but a few make a good mid-afternoon snack!

Softpebbles · 23/08/2017 12:28

I was two up today so 11st 2.

Welcome back KOKO.

I buy the little nut and seed satchets from the counter in Lidl. 150 Cal a pouch.

I'm having boiled eggs and bacon for lunch I think .....

QuimReaper · 23/08/2017 13:16

BOOP I chuckled out loud at that - as I was reading TV's post I was seeing a flock of chickens pecking across my mind's eye Grin

TV as BOOP says you can buy eggs in little pots but I am at a loss to see why you can't prep them at home. You just need to boil up a whole box on a Sunday afternoon or whenever you have a spare 6 minutes, put the boiled eggs back in the box, put two (or however many) in a Tupperware each morning. I bought a whole stash of salt sachets for DH to take camping and take one of those if I'm taking mine out for the day.

But then again, I'm always aghast at the mark-up on something as humble as a boiled egg when it's pre-prepared. Same as those "snack pots" of things like blueberries, where you get 8 berries for smidgen less than you pay for a whole punnet. Great to have available when you're caught on the fly, but popping out of the office every day to buy a pre-boiled egg seems jolly extravagant Shock

Hairspray "pizza weight" is such a great concept and one made for me Grin

QuimReaper · 23/08/2017 13:19

Those chicken skewer thingies are great too though (although as BOOP says, probably not a whole pack every day Wink ). Do you have fridge space at work? If not, could you see your way to one of those wee partitioned lunchbox for a boiled egg or two, a few skewers, a couple of Babybels and p'raps a handful of nuts or berries?

ponygirlcurtis · 23/08/2017 13:20

TV I have just come out of the gym about to chew my arm off so grabbed a pack of cooked chicken thighs when I was in Lidl (saw those we pouches Soft, was tempted!). A bag of salad and some dressing and that could be a proper meal.

Well done on getting back down Hairspray and BOOP.

What do you think will help you, keepon? If joining SW will, go for it.

QuimReaper · 23/08/2017 13:24

koko so sorry to hear you're in panic mode but wonderful to see you back.

I probably said it before but I think you've overwhelmed yourself with millions of different approaches. Back to basics sounds like a good idea. I think calorie counting is the simplest thing, so how about just trying to do 1200/1400/whatever is comfortable but lower than usual calories today and tomorrow? Don't even think about the weekend just yet.

Sounds like you also need to be taking things one step at a time - or more specifically, one Linda at a time. You haven't said it but is it that you get overwhelmed by how much you want to lose? Because you'll go spare if you think like that, that's always how I ended up rocketing off the wagon. Whereas if you can get it into your head that you want to lose ONE Linda, then one more, then you can start chipping away: I want to be in the next kg bracket, I want to reach the next stone bracket, I want to reach the next half-stone bracket, etc. It can sometimes be much easier than looking at the bigger picture.
