No no don't fight!

I won't do the scary lemon diet! I will go to the gym!

QuimReaper · 05/07/2017 15:11

Nobody's fighting!

Just whatever you do don't try and do both at once, or you'll get a reputation as a fainter Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 05/07/2017 16:13

I'm personally a bit wary of any diet that tells you to take a laxative every night!!

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 05/07/2017 19:25

I'm wondering what sort of... ahem... "waste" you'd even produce drinking lemonade with maple syrup for 10 days! Would the laxative even do anything?!

lastqueenofscotland · 05/07/2017 19:49

Hairspray don't do the scary lemon diet!!!

As you switch to maintaining it's definitely worth doing more exercise! I'd offer to be a running buddy but I think I'm further north than you

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 05/07/2017 20:34

For a few comments back there I though there was going to be a slenderistas scary lemon fast! Glad that that hasn't caught on Grin

Anyway I survived my HIIT class! Just about. I think I nearly threw up at one point but I survived. Though I did embarrass myself this evening. I left my office, walked through the length of the hospital, got the bus to the gym, let them swipe my pass at reception, and went and got changed in the changing room, only to pop to the loo before the class to discover that while I was sitting at my desk at work I had smudged my mascara and I had a proper panda eye on one side. AND NOT ONE PERSON HAD MENTIONED IT TO ME!!! Blush

Stellar67 · 05/07/2017 21:53

Argh! Lost my post!

I'm doing alright, but not weighing myself. And remembering just because I'm on summer holidays doesn't mean every day is Saturday.

And I laughed at spurious.

And I mentioned not joining the Lemon diet. But I am basing the egg diet on weekly meals. But including veg.

lumpit · 05/07/2017 22:11

I've eaten well all today bar my bath cookie, cycled on my stationary bike for half an hour this morning and walked all the way to work, and most of the way back!
Prepped all my meals for tomorrow since I need to leave for work at 6am. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good wee loss when I weigh in on Sunday!

Howlongtillbedtime · 06/07/2017 07:01

Morning all .

I need a kick up my ample backside I am being hopeless.

I have had a really sociable couple of weeks which means it's all gone a bit shite.

I am going to start again today by logging back into mfp and getting myself to the gym after work. I recently completed couch to 5k but I can't run in this heat so will stick to the dreadmill today.

Good luck to everyone else today and any kicks welcome .

BitOutOfPractice · 06/07/2017 07:45

I'm boring myself now with my inability to stick to the plan. Confused

Let's not fight best thread on mumsnet!!

I think one of the best things about this thread is there is never any judgement about people's plans. We listen and support and offer encouragement and advice and pep talks when things aren't working or when people are falling off wagons.
I think The juice fast above was mostly mentioned in a joking way, but even if people were trying, isn't that what this thread is all abou??

nikibabe I would absolutely love to be as dedicated as you are to the gym but I just don't have the time and I'm just so tired after work I don't bother going. I know that's just an excuse and I should go. But I know if I go when I'm exhausted I won't do a good work out it will be half arsed and then I will feel even worse about myself and how useless I am than if I stayed at home and didn't go.

On another note. I had a sneaky weigh in this morning. I know I should never weigh in mid week. And I've gained and I'm so down about it.
Hope everyone has a good day.

EarlyWelcome · 06/07/2017 07:55

Morning everyone. I hope you all have a positive day. Each day is a new start.

It's so hard not to get down about a gain. However, there are so many factors that can affect your weight on a daily basis. I still can't resist weighing myself daily though! Blush

I've got a spin class and a body pump class booked for today so hopefully that will help me on my way to being a bit fitter.

lastqueenofscotland · 06/07/2017 08:29

146 this morning Confused

BitOutOfPractice · 06/07/2017 08:38

Nobody is fighting I don't think.

I go to the gym about 5 times a week but I don't do nearly as much as Niki. I don't have the time or, frankly, the inclination as I'm a lazy arse at heart Blush

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 06/07/2017 09:26

10.5 but only just, scales were very indecisive this morning....

Interview later, wish me luck!

QuimReaper · 06/07/2017 09:42

Nobody's fighting Squiffy - I don't think anyone's seriously considering the lemon fast either, but I'd be cheering from the sidelines and pestering for constant updates if they were! I'd give it a go to be sporting, but I know for a fact I wouldn't even make it through the second day.

I wish I had the gym dedication too. BOOP I think you do tons of exercise, I'd be thrilled if I managed to maintain your schedule! Somehow nothing ever made it fun for me, and I was always wondering how soon I could leave. I too am ultimately lazy at heart.

QuimReaper · 06/07/2017 10:06

It's this weather that's making so many of us struggle, I'm sure of it. Everyone was nailing it in Spring.

readyforsunshine · 06/07/2017 10:25

Hello all, still occasionally catching up but not got much to add sadly, so basically place marking!

TVHubbyClaire · 06/07/2017 11:03

quim trying to get back on 16:8 yesterday and so far so good today, weigh in this morning was down one Linda to 12st 10

Unfortunately the evening desserts are still there and tonight I am likely to be in pub as DS is away for the nigh. then a night out tomorrow and no doubt some hangover calories on SaturdaySad

I will try again to stop desserts and go for my nespresso and dark chocolate treat in the evenings from next week. I do need a refocus though

TVHubbyClaire · 06/07/2017 11:07

squiffy you and me both when it comes to gym

I at least plan to walk an hour tonight by taking the very long way round to pub.......i think Rome's burning comes to mind....

koko I think using them on a 5:2 basis would be a great idea!

TV it definitely sounds like the desserts are the answer here - remember you hit your target of 12.7 when you ditched them!

The socialising is killing all of us by the sounds of it - I'm out tonight and tomorrow as well Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 06/07/2017 11:53

I was away at the seaside last weekend, at a school reunion in Brum this weekend, in Majorca next weekend, then away with the kids the following weekend. After that it's up to the Peak District to take dd1 to a festival then the weekend after it's my niece's 21st. It's non-stop!

I'm just trying to be good in the week.

As for my gym attendance I think it's just a habit now. I have recently added in some resistance training too to try and tone up. But my god that is soooooooooo dull. I have to download a podcast or something to get me through it.

OP posts:
NikiBabe · 06/07/2017 11:55

Nobody is fighting I don't think.

Really?

I continued the gym banter I have previously had with hairspray and this is what I got accused of.

in response to Chard's frustration at shifting the Last Few. If you remember, she's had health and mobility problems in the past few weeks, so I doubt she'll appreciate advice to do a Body Pump class.

Nice accusation there. I never mentioned Chard of course I wouldnt mean her, where did that come from?

Jeez.

Im down to 10.4. Only a few lbs left.

Best Ieave now.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/07/2017 11:55

KOKO I don't think I could do it even for a day so I think you've done brilliantly.

No way on gods green earth I could do that lemonade thing. They say it's for 10 days but surely that's bordering on dangerous!
