Oh my God! Haven't finished catching up yet, apologies, but I've just logged on to suggest a FitBit challenge and I see y'all beat me to it! Shock Talk about a hive mind! Can I have a DM please?

I was going to suggest a 100K step challenge next week.

I'm getting a bit grumpy with how busy my social calendar is at the moment. Obviously it's always lovely to see my friends but when I get a cluster it just leaves me skint and fat and hungover. My pattern of keeping it to weekend days was working really well for me but it's all gone to shit, I have dinner plans Weds, Thurs and Fri this week, a birthday party on Sat AND lunch on Weds Confused I'm just hoping two days' damage limitation today and tomorrow and keeping my steps up will keep things somewhat under control. It's all because of people coming to London from abroad, so their schedules aren't at all flexible and obviously seeing dear far-flung friends has to be the priority. I'm going to try and keep the lunch to coffee and a sandwich, but if she wants to make it a celebration I'll find it hard to say no!

Well I just about managed to control things at music festival with no booze and only eating fish tacos.......... the rain chucking down helps to dampen appetite for rose wine and ice cream....

Yesterday wasnt too bad until we decided on family chinese take out to watch Manchester concert with. Hopefully weigh in tomorrow won't be too bad

DW away this weekend so planning for a very low alcohol golden few days at the weekend

Good luck with all your socialising Quim

kaytee is your mum always such a knob? Angry It couldn't be that you've mentioned your weight loss intentions and she was trying to be helpful? You poor thing Cake

Welcome to the Best Thread on Mumsnet by the wayâ„¢ Grin And the same to Walkers, MadHatter, d27, fedjj, Trey and lambkin - the more the merrier! (Hope I haven't missed anyone, apologies if I have - only just caught up on the whole thread!)

Squiff I know how you feel. I had the same thing after America when I realised I'd undone so much good work, and felt very despondent about it; I used to fatten up after indulgence and then sort of naturally shrink back down when I got back to normal habits, and I miss it! It'll just be bloat and water as BOOP says though - remind me, do you do Fast Days? They're miraculous for kicking a weekend gain into the long grass.

quim sometimes, not always. Maybe she was trying to be helpful but i felt like telling her I can count my own calories. I was thinking ok well I will have a bit of cake as I've skipped lunch. I was so embarrassed, one of the family noticed and asked what I'd done jokingly, I just shrugged Sad

Excellent work TV, fish tacos sounds very virtuous!

kaytee I'd have wanted to cry too, incredibly insensitive of her! Sad

Just try and brush it off and let us be in loco parentis - it's been said before that BOOP and I are the Thread Parents; we won't let you fall off the wagon and boredom-eat a tin of biscuits (but we'd forgive you if you did), and we'd NEVER give you a measly slice of cake if you wanted a proper one Grin Cake

Back on the 1200 calories in 2 meals thing today. It feels easiest! Too scared to weigh after an extremely bad weekend. I will weigh in in a couple of days.

This has been the first weekend that I haven't over indulged Grin

Still weighing in 11 stone 10 which I'm OK about. We're leaving for our holiday at the end of the month so will be chuffed if I can lose those 10 pounds

Braved the scales this morning - 10 stones. 4 1/2 lbs as a starting rate. On plus side I did manage 10,000 steps yesterday. Slightly obsessed with Fitbit!

Bloody hell kaytee that's awful. No wonder you cried. I mean there's the implied insult and then to make matters worse, you've got a tiny bit of cake Angry Did she think she was being helpful. Though god help us all if mothers decide they're being helpful eh?

We all seem a little befuddled today don't we? Focus girls (and TV!) Focus!

I've had a meeting today which I've been dreading for months. And of course it wasn't as bad as I thought. All that angst for nothing Hmm

I've had a great day food wise. Half a banana a small pot of humour with carrot and cucumber, handful of cherries and one biscuit.

When your personal life goes tits up your appetite goes too 😥

Sorry Quim I would be a useless fitbit buddy,

I don't own a fitbit and sadly my Withings step counter suggests I have done only a third of my 10,000 target for today.....Sad

I do well at weekends and actually take the long way round to places just to add more steps and enjoy the fresh air but work days I'm totally uselessAngry

Well, my efforts to lose weight in May came to naught! So I've regrouped and am going again. Something has to give - I can't stay this weight forever.

As a teacher, I'm often guilty of putting off starting a new healthy regime for the summer hols as that's when I usually have more time to spend on exercise etc.

But I can't put it off and have started today. I have a family wedding in 5 weeks and a holiday in Spain in 7 weeks. Then the rest of the summer hols to keep going.

I'm calorie counting with the help of the nutracheck app, which I have subscribed to until July to start with.
And have joinedthe local fitness centre to do 2 or 3 fitness classes a week.
And have a stepper and an exercise bike to do a little more here and there on less active days.

Most of all, I want to slim down and become stronger as I've had a hip operation in the past and it's starting to play up again. I want to rule out extra weight as a cause for the niggles asap.

Starting weight 13.12! Eeek. I'd love to get to 11st but will settle for 12st something asap!

Softy, are you ok? Brew
