Wow, just found this thread and you guys are all doing so well. I've joined slimming world and have lost 5lb in 7 weeks so not spectacular.

I'm 20st 8lb and need food motivation....been to the gym four times this week plus a martial arts class so I think my activity is ok.

CountryCaterpillar · 24/05/2017 12:55

5lb loss is 5 lbs!! Yay!! They say it's better to lose it slowly over time and I'm similar to you with a lot to lose.

I did my first proper gym session to day and was shattered. It's not even a "tough" set of exercises it's just I'm so so unfit. I need to battle with the inner gremlins telling me I'm so fat/unfit/ how awful I look /that I can't do much and keep going. My poor brain is so negative!!! I'm swimming tomorrow though and I love that.

Fab 10stones that's great- congrats on your loss.

Welcome moonlight and well done on your 5lbs off with slimmingworld.

.....Well after being brave and going to the gym I have now ventured to an AquaZumba class, surprisingly hard work and I was a bit achy the next day, but all good. I've got my fingers crossed for a good loss this week!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun and keeping on track.

Having just joined the thread just over two weeks ago I have gone back and read the whole first thread for inspiration.
You guys are amazing and so supportive, what you have achieved this year is remarkable, it makes me wish I had found you all back in January and started my weight loss then cause I would be feeling so much better in the heat now and not just a big hot sweaty mess.
The heat is good in one way though I'm much happier eating salads and fruit and lots of water rather than craving comfort food. Also can't hide inside massive jumpers and pretend the lbs weren't piling on me.
Fingers crossed for good results for everyone weighing in this week.

I'm back to join you, I've been on holiday (and put on 4lbs Blush) however I'm getting straight back on it. I was so so close to getting back into that 15st bracket and I'm absolutely determined that I will do it, I've been going back and forth between 16st and 16st 2 but this week I'm determined to loose the what I've put on. I think I'm going to start a liquid diet with a main meal for dinner to kick me off. Wish me luck!!!!

Amazing swlondonnanny well done!

Welcome back pinot, hope you had a fab holiday.

Itmustbemyage you have done really well, not far now off your 1st stone! your KOKOing works.

3lb off this week (Total loss 75.5 lbs) the extra exercise seems to have really helped, got a day out with friends this weekend so trying to be ultra good in preparation this week for cocktail wiggle room.

Have a good rest of the week everyone.

Well I'm back from holiday, and managed to gain a stone (as I expected). Unlimited baklava and pina colada combined with limited willpower will indeed do that to you. I am very, very guilty, and incredibly cross at myself as have a black tie do in 2 weeks and found a gorgeous posh dress in the charity shop for pennies, which looked brand new and fitted me like a dream before I went. I can't even zip it up now. Sigh. It'll keep for another event. Back to fasting, back to exercising Monday.

FatGirl sounds like you had great holidays. Pity about the dress but you never know, you might just fit into it in 2 weeks time
Lots well done, incredible weight loss (75.5lbs - Wow!!!) how are you getting on with your fit gear?
itmustbe great weight loss, nearly a stone in 3 weeks, well done!

Not much of a loss for me this week but it seems to follow a pattern of a few weeks of bigger loss followed by nearly STS. Just need to KOKO
Have a good week everyone Smile

Well I lost that 4lb I put on on holiday, am now back at 16st AGAIN! The weekend wasn't perfect but now the kids are back at school it's easier for me to stick to things and walk more so I'm hopeful of getting into that much longed for 15st bracket this week.

Also can I ask what KOKO means?

Report
FatGirlWithChocolate · 05/06/2017 09:59

KOKO means keep on keeping on :) I did have a great holiday, and it's entirely my own fault about the weight gain and dress..it would have been perfect for he upcoming do, but there will always be another one (it's an Army mess). Still don't know what I am going to wer, but do know that I will have to wear Spanx underneath it ;) Have a great day everyone xx

Wow you are an inspiration. Every week you have lost weight. I wish I'd started and kept the weight loss up as then I too could celebrate the same weight loss. X

FatGirlWithChocolate Don't beat yourself up- everyone deserves to relax and indulge on Holidays & it sounds like you had a fantastic time. When you do wear your dress you will look fabulous!

Well done PinotAndPlaydough on your 4lb loss- fingers crossed for you to get back in the 15st this week.

swlondonnanny You are doing great every loss is a reason to celebrate. I'm really pleased with my Fit Gear, it's not perfect by any stretch (floor count is random!) but it does what I need & I use the Samsung App on my phone a lot. It is keeping me motivated, so last night we went for an extra walk to up my steps, which I don't think we would have before & the gym tracker is good!

1lb off for me this week, which is not surprising- I fell somewhat spectacularly off the wagon on Saturday and waved as it disappeared into the distance Blush. No self control after a few drinks. However, I somehow agreed to train for a 10k- which sober me would not have done (trying to see the positives Confused). Aiming to put Saturday behind me- not use it as an excuse & to kick dieting's butt this week.

So this weeks goals are:-

  • Exercise every day of some sort (gym or class) + do step count
  • 2 fast days
  • Drink 2l of water every day.

Hope everyone has a good week and stays positive Smile

Hi everyone - some terrific loses on here. Well done Smile.

I'm chipping away, slowly but steadily. I'm of the opinion that doing 5:2 is a permanent lifestyle choice now, and on non fasting days I do have moderate amounts of cake/ice cream/whatever.

20lbs in 20 weeks mini challenge
Progress to date
6.2 lbs lost in 5 weeks.
77,000 steps clocked last week.

Well done P an P! Amazing! xx

Have lost 7lbs, so am now just 7lbs bigger than when I bought the dress..tried it on last night and it does up, but feels like it's straining at the seams a bit to me - though DH rather unhelpfully claimed it went up easier than it did when I bought it..which is NOT true - but then he thought putting on a stone had made no difference to me....men, huh? So, it's still touch and go..one thing though is it's obvious that it's not just weight loss when you are sticking to plan (because 7lbs difference isn't a huge amount, enough, but not huge), but the inch loss (which may or may not go along with a movement on the scales) that can make a big difference to how things fit, and I definitely have expanded muchly inchwise. KOKO. Always xx

MalmseyWhine looks like your 20lb in 20 weeks is going great- you are really on target.

PinotAndPlaydough Whoop Whoop on your loss and getting into the 15's- that must be a brill feeling.

FatGirlWithChocolate 7lbs is amazing- that's a great loss! you are correct about the inch measurement- that can vary loads even when you haven't lost on the scales the tape measure can tell a different story.

Well 'my kick butt' week has been okay-ish, missed exercise on Monday, but otherwise on track. fingers crossed for a good loss on Monday. Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi all, just to let you know I'm still alive. So sorry I've neglected the thread for the last couple of weeks. My Dad was taken seriously ill after the bank holiday and in hospital 3 hours drive away. I've split myself in two trying to work, run things at home and visit him. My diet has kind of taken a nosedive and I feel completely out of control, but amazingly I haven't put any weight on. Haven't lost any either though! I've eaten the wrong things (grabbing crap like cheese toastie in hospital cafe!!), but also skipped meals, so maybe it's evened out overall?!

I have a free morning for the first time in forever, so I'm going to spend it catching up on all your posts and trying to get my head back in the game.

Here goes!

Sorry to hear about your dad, hope he's better?
It's so tough feeling torn in so many directions. I think for anybody in that situation worrying about their weight would be very low on their list of priorities. You have done so well to maintain, if I'm under stress I just want to fall face first into all the chocolate / crisps / cheese / nuts I can find.
It's good to have you back

Hey 10st so sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he's on the mend. You e done really really well to maintain.
I've stayed the same this week too, I think it's because my daughter has had a vicious and relentless stomach bug and so I've been snacking more than I should. Its a bit of a rubbish excuse though really and I know that when anything stressful happens I end up using it as an excuse to eat which is yet another habit I need to break.
