Welcome back to all from my original thread, which has become a supportive and friendly place for anyone with a lot of weight to lose. Newbies welcome too.

These are my latest stats...

Losing a Whole Bloody Person: My Progress So Far

Starting weight: 19st 10lbs (BMI 43.2)
Weight now: 16st 1lb (BMI 35.2)
Goal: 9st 10lbs (BMI 21.3)

Week 1 loss: 9lbs
Week 2 loss: 6lbs
Week 3 loss: 1lb
Week 4 loss: 5lbs
Week 5 loss: 2lbs
Week 6 loss: 2lbs
Week 7 loss: 3lbs
Week 8 loss: 1lb
Week 9 loss: 2lbs
Week 10 loss: 3lbs
Week 11 loss: 1lb
Week 12 loss: 4lbs
Week 13 loss: 2lbs
Week 14 loss: 2lbs
Week 15 loss: 1lb
Week 16 loss: 3lbs
Week 17 loss: 2lbs
Week 18 loss: 2lbs

Total lost: 3st 9lbs
Total to lose: 10st
Left to lose: 6st 5lbs

My First 10 Interim Targets

  1. Lose 10% of total I have to lose = 1 stone loss (target 18 st 10 lbs) COMPLETE ON 15/01/17!!!
  2. Get below 40+ the very severely obese class III BMI category = 1st 7lbs loss (target 18 st 3 lbs) COMPLETE ON 29/01/17!!!
  3. Lose 10% of total body weight and 20% of total I have to lose = 2st loss (target 17 st 10lbs) COMPLETE ON 20/02/17!!!
  4. Get into a dress size 18 in most shops COMPLETE ON 26/03/17!!!
  5. Lose 30% of total I have to lose = 3st loss (16st 10lbs) COMPLETE ON 09/04/17!!!
  6. Get below the 35-40 the severely obese class II BMI category = 3st 11lbs loss (target 15st 13lbs)
  7. Lose 20% of total body weight = 3st 13lbs loss (target 15st 11lbs)
  8. Lose 40% of total I have to lose = 4st loss (15st 10lbs)
  9. Get into a dress size 16 in most shops
  10. Reach the half-way point and lose 50% of total I have to lose (half a bloody person!) = 5st loss (target 14st 10lbs)

10 you are such an inspiration!! I need to get new batteries for my scales (I weigh in on Saturday - but a cheeky WI on Thursday morning showed I'd lost 3lbs, so that means at least 7.5lbs off in 2 weeks! Also I can do most of Davina's moves now without following Jackie, so fitness is improving too. Onwards and downwards...

I've been lurking and just wanted to say a huge well done to you all. I'm on the lose 100 pound thread and we're all plugging away at it too. If you haven't seen it there is a great thread in the success stories section of the MY Fitness Pal forum which has lots of very inspirational thread and another very long one called something like 'what no one told me about losing weight'. Both well worth having a look at.

Quick check in- Weighed in yesterday rather than this morning, but 3lbs off, BMI is down a total of 10 from when I started which is a bit of a landmark.

Cheated a bit yesterday & had a bit of a cake fest Blush so it won't be that good this week!

Got my first gym session this week- which i'm feeling a bit anxious about, but 10stones & DesertIslandPenguin you have both inspired me.

Everyone seems really positive this week- love it! Well done all on your losses. Keep at it!

My starting weight 16stone 0 lbs

Week 1 - 3lbs loss - 15 stone 11lbs

I'll have to think of some weight goals to add. Amazed at everyone's fitness efforts I can't exercise easily due to problems with my feet so I think my weight loss is going to be slow and steady rather than dramatic. Wishing everyone good results on their weigh ins this week.

Hope the gym went well @Lotsawobblybits !! I've had to reschedule my session for tomorrow as I need to take the car to the garage 🙄 Annoyed as I was going to weigh tomorrow while I was there!!

Still plodding on. Got a bag of chunky pre-chopped veg from Sainsbury's in the oven (love this stuff!) and leftover chilli for tea. Thinking of getting a Fitbit charge once I've lost my first stone. It's not the tracker of my dreams but it seems to be good for accuracy and it isn't completely ugly. Anyone got one?

Gym went well thanks DesertIslandPenguin I was worried about it TBH I'm very self conscious but it is a small community type place & quite quiet which suits me. Definitely going to make it a regular thing now I've broken my duck. Grin

I don't have a fitbit- but was looking at getting the Samsung equivalent, they all seem to be a bit ugly though- interested in any ones experiences too.

@Lotsawobblybits Brilliant! I find that I feel much better mentally as well as physically when I go to the gym.

I have found some prettier activity watches: Timex IQ+, Fossil Q accomplice, Withings activite are all lovely analogue watches, but lots of people complain about lack of accuracy, build quality and trouble interfacing with myfitnesspal (only the Withings ones do that). I've seen more negative than positive so have swung back round to fancying a fitbit charge. I use my phone to track steps but since it is in my bag or left on a desk it doesn't capture all my activity. Of course I could just go for a walk and ignore the hallowed 10k steps!!

@DesertIslandPenguin I have taken the plunge & ordered a Samsung Fit Gear 2, on the whole the reviews were good-mostly boiling down to the Apple vs Android preference. I already track everything through the Samsung Phone App so sort of made sense.

Will let you know how I get on with it! Exited as I love a new gadget Grin

Lots I was trying to post yesterday but something wasn't working.
I have Samsung Fit gear 2 and can't say I am very happy with it. The main thing for me is that I doesn't count my steps/activity when I am pushing a buggy (which is when I walk most during the weekdays). Also it randomly counts flights of stairs (227 so far today) and I don't use any... other than this it is probably a great gadget if you have it connected to your phone (which I don't)
I actually got it for free when I bought my DH new phone. So use it as a fancy watch and it tells me every morning how long and well I slept
(I think it is quite clear that I am not into gadgets Grin
So I bought a very cheap ormond thing for £20 which works really well for me
Having said all I did above I spoke to my friend who has a fitbit and it is the same with not counting steps when pushing the buggy and recording stairs which she didn't use...

Finally got new button battery for my scales yesterday so it's been just over 3 weeks and I've lost 12lbs! So my stats are as follows:
Week 1 - 4.5lbs
Week 2 - broken scales
Week 3 - 7.6lbs

Start weight - 19 st 13lbs Blush
Current weight - 19st 1.4lbs
Next mini goal = under 19 stone
Next mini goal = 18st 3lbs (no longer morbidly obese!)

Good luck everyone, really enjoying my Davina DVD.

Huge well done to everyone.

It's my last weigh in before holiday today. I put on 1lb last week, but that's not surprising really as I had a couple of impromptu nights out during the week. It's also the first time I've had a gain since starting in January, so I think I've done pretty well! To be honest, I was expecting more of a gain.

I'd love to get on the scales and see a 3lb loss today, but it hasn't been the best of weeks because I've slipped a bit while in work. So I'll be happy with any loss really.

Well done SWLondonnanny thats a fab loss! gutted - didn't see your review of the Gear Fit till I had ordered it- so we will see how I go, annoyingly I do seem to have climbed a random number of floors! However, the GPS tracker is brill, we did a 6 mile walk yesterday in the middle of nowhere in a wooded valley and it tracked it perfectly. Going to trial it at the gym this evening.

Introvertedbuthappy that's great- 7.6lb is brill in 2 weeks. Well done.

Just 1lb off for me this week- which I am really not surprised at, lots of various family do's the last couple of weekends & I slightly fell of the wagon last weekend and ate a lot of cake Blush, counted it all & then cut back the rest of the week for damage limitation.

Got a another do in a couple of weeks so aiming for 4.5lb loss for then, which I think is doable.

So much positivity on this thread it's really inspirational.

Starting weight 16 stone 0 lb

Week 1 - 3lb loss - 15 stone 11lbs
Week 2 - 5lb loss - 15 stone 6lbs

My initial targets

  1. Lose 10 percent of the total weight I need to lose. - 9lbs
  2. Lose 1 stone an important milestone for me - 14lbs
  3. Lose 20 percent of the total weight I need to lose - 17lbs
  4. Lose 10 percent of my current weight - 23lbs
  5. Keep on going til I go on holiday at the end of July, one week at a time.


Congrats to all, on your losses.

Currently getting ready to leave for the airport, but just need to quickly pop in and say I lost 4lb this week!

So I'm now on a total loss of 4 stone 1lb and I've got that 4 stone award Grin

I know I'll put weight on on holiday, but this is the milestone I wanted to reach before holiday.

I've just started the exercise prescription gym, and swimming. I have v low strength and stamina so the gym ismt much but it's a start.
I'm nearly 19stone. I was 13 5 years ago when I had my second child. Overweight but nothing like I am now :(
