Calorie counting starts tomorrow (8th May). Lose a stone with me?

I managed to lose almost a stone due to illness over the new year, but have managed to put on 3 lbs since then. I really, really want to have lost a stone by the end of July (start of school holidays).

So I think that a stone in 11 weeks is definitely doable.

Anyone like to join me? I'm sticking to 1700 cals a day (I'm quite active), logging them on MyFitnessPal. I'm also aiming to do 3 lots of exercise per week (brisk walking/exercise DVD/swimming).

I'd quite like to weigh-in here too, to keep me motivated. So here goes: 11 stone 6lbs. Weigh-in again next Sunday?

Hi all, so last time I posted I was 9st 8.

Did not count calories over the weekend - had a rare weekend away - ate a lot between Friday and Sunday night - half a pizza, icecreams, some pasta, endless biscuits, wine and g and t. I have been eating just salad and protein with low-ish carbs for the past few months.

Weighed myself this morning and I'm back to 10 stone. How is this possible?? That's 6lbs :(

I wasn't even hungry today so fasted until 6pm when I had a salad and a marmite sandwich :(

Losing weight is really shitty isn't it.

cathyandclare · 15/05/2017 21:58

I empathise! I can put on a half a stone of bloat if I eat carbs after being generally low carb, it's shitty but it goes quickly too. It's just fluid, but it feels utterly horrid! Well done for being so good today, I get really bingey- so you've done brilliantly to rein it in.

Boffered1 · 15/05/2017 21:59

Can I join you all? I need some motivation to get me going. Haven't checked my weight but my clothes are saying it's time to act!! Will drag the scales out in the morning. I've made a good start today with 1400 calories eaten and a half hour walk.

cathyandclare · 15/05/2017 22:02

Welcome Boff! Great start, better than me- I tried some 100% chocolate today, it tasted like bitter soil but I still chomped my way through it!!!

Kathrynnz123 · 15/05/2017 22:04

Well didn't do very well last week and lost a grand total of nothing!!! Argh it is so frustrating!! It gets a bit disheartening really Confused.

New week though, pick myself up and keep going Biscuit

Boffered1 · 15/05/2017 22:04

Thanks cathyandclare. So far so good. I'll get fed up about day 3!!

MakingBaconPancakes · 15/05/2017 22:06

Cathy I didn't drink much water over the weekend. I usually drink a big glass before every meal and another one when I'm halfway through. So I think that's impacted it all somehow.

I just don't get that 3500 calories is 1 lb of fat (so they say) but I didn't eat 21000 extra calories in 3 days! It's gotta be water retention from not drinking enough right?

Good to know it may be quick to come off tho. Thankyou for the solidarity. :)

Tartle · 15/05/2017 22:09

Wedding at the weekend and ate/drank far too much. Right back where I started this morning but hopefully it will start coming off again when I get back into low carbing

Reasonable day. Porridge, soup and an omelette. Unfortunate 3pm cake fail but burnt 700 cals in gym so not going to beat myself up too much.

Must stay focused now though!

I had a good weekend. Down from 11 10 last Monday to 11 6 today which I'm really pleased with. The first weight was unusually high because I'd had a heavy weekend so I probably would have lost the first 2 anyway. I'll aim to keep losing at approximately 2lb a week. Any more and I know I'll start to feel ill.

Had a great bike ride yesterday too.

Today I was back at work after a week off and then had to go to hospital with dd. I wanted to go for a walk afterwards but it was raining and I was waiting for the tesco van so I've only managed 5k steps today. I don't expect much change on the scales tomorrow.

Boffered1 · 16/05/2017 08:01

I've braved it and the scale says 163.8 Blush not as bad as I'd feared but nowhere near what I want to be. My aim is 144lbs so a long way to go. Baby steps tho with a goal of 161 by Monday.

jarviscockatiel · 16/05/2017 09:14

Wow! Amazing weight losses, well done everyone.
I'm down 1.4lbs from last week. Not as amazing as some, but at least the scales are going in the right direction. I've tried hard to avoid treats at social occasions and am attending a new boot camp class tonight (prays it doesn't rain!)

userofthiswebsite · 17/05/2017 12:46

Mine has been up and down like a yoyo.
10st 1.6 today.
However, the most important thing for me is not so much the number on the scale but whether clothing starts to feel less tight.

TillyTheTiger · 19/05/2017 05:42

Fell off the wagon yesterday, a couple of sleepless nights with a teething baby and I have zero energy to exercise and no will power to stop myself eating AAALLL the food! So annoyed with myself. Sad
But today I'm going to get back on track, I've planned out my meals in advance on MFP and I'm going to do the 30 day shred workout twice to make up for missing it yesterday. I can do this!

Agoddessonamountaintop · 19/05/2017 14:08

Bloat and yo-yo-ing here as well. If only I could eat an extra 3,500 kcals before gaining a pound! One small piece of cake and a glass of wine do it for me. I was down by a pound and a half on Monday but have been up a considerable amount and am now a pound below starting weight.
Whether the weekend will leave me having lost or gained remains to be seen. Gym has been visited twice so far, plus have discovered Pauline Nordin's Butt Bible, which is great. Easier than the Shred, but seems effective.
Some great losses here!

Thingsgettingstranger · 19/05/2017 16:30

Is it too late for me to join? I'm currently 9.8 (ish) and would love to be about 8.8 (i know I sound slim but I am very short). I don't have a plan, but I'll download MFP and probably stick to 1400 a day. Hoping to lose 1 lb a week and hit GW by September. I'm going to try and eat healthier but I admit there will be a bit of crap too. I'll start tomorrow morning.

SansaClegane · 19/05/2017 17:48

147.2 this morning, so close to my goal for this week!

How has the weekend been for everyone? I had a kids party yesterday and didn't eat any of the food, hooray for will power! Still sticking to the 30 day shred although my knees were clicking alarmingly today doing squats. Not sure what I'm expecting on the scales tomorrow, maybe 2lb off? Fingers crossed!

TillyTheTiger · 22/05/2017 12:42

2lb off so that's 8lb in a fortnight, pleased with that. 11st6lb now, still almost a stone to go though. DH isn't helping, he came to chat to me while I was doing my workout yesterday and sat there eating a double chocolate muffin (his 4th of the day, all of which he'd scoffed in front of me). And he still never puts weight on, the sod!

TheDonald · 22/05/2017 18:10

Pretty rubbish weekend for me. Too many trips out and visitors with cake!

Back on it today. My boss bought me a massive slice of lemon drizzle cake but I passed it on to a colleague.

Dd has requested chicken Kiev and curly fries for dinner because she's bust revising and can't face more salads so I need to dig up some willpower. I think a couple of chips won't hurt!

Back up to 11 7 this morning but aiming to at least get down to 11 5 by Friday.
