Calorie counting starts tomorrow (8th May). Lose a stone with me?

I managed to lose almost a stone due to illness over the new year, but have managed to put on 3 lbs since then. I really, really want to have lost a stone by the end of July (start of school holidays).

So I think that a stone in 11 weeks is definitely doable.

Anyone like to join me? I'm sticking to 1700 cals a day (I'm quite active), logging them on MyFitnessPal. I'm also aiming to do 3 lots of exercise per week (brisk walking/exercise DVD/swimming).

I'd quite like to weigh-in here too, to keep me motivated. So here goes: 11 stone 6lbs. Weigh-in again next Sunday?

Had a reasonable day yesterday, haven't weighed this morning.

I'm here and everywhere today, including a relatively long drive, so I must make sure I drink plenty or I'll get snacky later!

Tartle · 11/05/2017 19:58

How's everyone's day been? I'm 3lb down this morning so not bad.

So far I've had a protein shake, omelette with feta, half an avocado with cream cheese and half a rice cake.

Off to the gym now but totally starving! Don't know what to have for dinner.

SansaClegane · 11/05/2017 21:15

Today: 150.6lbs - getting there!

Good day with a 8.5K run, 21K steps in total and 790kcal consumed.

myrosehasleftme · 11/05/2017 21:31

I've managed to do ok despite last 2 days being working days( no birthday cakes in sight-yay). I made my lunches so I stuck to it well. Had cauliflower paella for dinner and then hour and a quarter yoga- lovely. May have had a few squares of dark choc but never mind.

leavethelighton · 11/05/2017 21:38

Not great today on food or exercise at all. Oh well, new day tomorrow! Got my step count done though, so I'm barely clinging onto some semblance of a healthy life.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 11/05/2017 22:58

God I'm rubbish at this. Forgot to say the other say, I'm 68.7 kilos but would like to be about 60. Don't think I've been that weight in about 10 years, and then only briefly.
Managed to keep under 1700 cals today (am aiming for 1200). Could easily have had another glass of wine.
I started c25k today though - only managed about ten mins but it's a start. Plus ten mins on static bike at gym. I did spend another 45 mins or so thrashing it out on the weights, but mfp doesn't count that as calorie-burning, it seems Hmm.

Kathrynnz123 · 12/05/2017 04:47

Well gotta say haven't done overly well the last couple of days. My daughter has been home sick so other than my usual dance class and the fact that in theory I will go to the pool, I have barely moved from my bed or the couch!! New day tomorrow right?! 🍷

TillyTheTiger · 12/05/2017 09:05

I did OK yesterday, 1196 calories and 16,000 steps. I also discovered infused water so I now have a jug of water in my fridge with lemon, mint, cucumber and ginger in it which I'm hoping will encourage me to drink that instead of white coffee! I haven't weighed in yet because if I do it too often I get derailed by minor fluctuations so I'm waiting until Monday. I'm hoping for 4lb off, but I have to get through the weekend first which is generally when I fall off the wagon because DH is a bad influence

userofthiswebsite · 12/05/2017 13:55

Terrible day yesterday... Didn't exercise as was weary and eat loads including lots of bowls of Weetos.

Day 1: 10st 4.2
Day 2: 10st 2.2
Day 3: 10st 2.0
Day 4: 10st 1.6
Day 5: 10st 2.8

Weight shot up this morning. Unsurprisingly. Boo.
Today going better. Already burnt off c500 cals. Eaten about 600 probably for breakfast and lunch but still lots of time to go.

Thread is quite quiet today.

SansaClegane · 12/05/2017 14:55

149.4lbs today, yay!

goddess how tall are you? As we seem to be a similar weight. I'm ultimately aiming for about 62kg, I've never been lower than that Confused I'm 5'7" / 170cm.

TillyTheTiger · 12/05/2017 15:24

I went clothes shopping today and I'm that in-betweeny size where 14s are baggy and 12s are too tight so that has spurred me on, if I hit my target I'm going to treat myself to a pre-holiday shopping spree for summer clothes that make me feel slim and sexy!
Quite proud because DS was most unhappy about being dragged round the shops and tried many tactics to drive me bonkers, but instead of resorting to chocolate or wine I had a handful of cashews and a cup of green ginger tea instead to calm me down Smile

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/05/2017 15:39

I'm struggling the last few days tbh. I'm due on which doesn't help but I've just been eating crap. Out for s meal with dh tonight as well as the kids are at gp's so that's pretty much written off today.

I have sat and planned the next two weeks until holiday though, put some exercise time into my diary and planned my menu for the week ahead. I have had s few very successful days but then the bad days just wipe them out!

I need several consecutive good days to actually make any difference.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 12/05/2017 16:25

Good planning bear. Good luck!
Sansa, I'm 5'7'' as well. I'm kind of hourglassy, so I can easily look fleshy. But I'm trying to focus more on toning up, so may well decide to stop at a higher weight once all this extra muscle starts to pile on - haha.
Was moaning to DH this morning about gaining back the 300g I lost earlier in the week, and he said it's probably because you've been to the gym. I really don't think anything I do two or three times a week is going to pack on a pound of muscle a time!

VVitch · 12/05/2017 16:33

Can I join? I'm following the 800cal blood sugar diet and have 2 St to lose.
Day 1 13.8
Day 4 13.4
I've done it for 4wks before and last a stone, so I know it works. I just need to keep it going.

And ignore the hunger

TheDonald · 12/05/2017 17:09

I've had a good end to the week. I haven't been calorie counting but I've settled into a good routine.

Porridge with frozen fruit (no sugar )
Salad and chicken or Mackarel for lunch
Soup or salad for dinner. With bread, pasta or rice but approx half the carb portion I would usually have.

No calories in drinks other than 2 cups of tea in the morning
No carbs or sugar in snacks

I'm probably still having quite a lot of natural sugars in fruit but I will try to gradually cut down.

Exercise:

Monday - none
Tuesday - short run.
Wed- 2 hrs Hill walking
Thursday- longer run but slow!
Today - not much yet but planning a walk after tea to hit 12k steps.

Weight.

Monday 11 10
Wednesday 11 8
Today 11 7

Aiming for 10 10 but I'll be delighted when I get to 11 2 because that means I'll be a healthy bmi!

TheDonald · 12/05/2017 17:13

Ps well done to everyone who is losing weight.

Some great inspiration on this thread.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/05/2017 17:49

Vvitch come and join us on our BSD thread as well. It's in the fasting 5:2 section

SansaClegane · 12/05/2017 20:05

goddess we must be twins then, I'm an hourglass as well! Trying to exercise a bit more, but I rarely find the time, so it's mainly running twice a week. My main target area is my thighs - very wobbly!

SansaClegane · 12/05/2017 20:07

Tilly I think clothes are such a good motivator! I stubbornly kept my 'slim' pre-pregnancy jeans and I'm determined I'm going to get back in there, eventually Grin

TillyTheTiger · 13/05/2017 23:37

How is everyone coping with the weekend? I wasn't too bad today, stuck to my 1200 cals although I'm still confused about the macros - 44% carbs, 29% fat and 27% protein, not sure whether that's good, bad or irrelevant. Also got myself confused in Sainsbury's over yoghurt as I've done Slimming World in the past so I'm pre-programmed to worship the muller light but now I'm assuming unsweetened full fat Greek yoghurt is actually better because it's not full of sweetener? Just under 12000 steps but hoping for more tomorrow

cathyandclare · 14/05/2017 10:16

I'm on the FF Greek yoghurt with berries. It's delicious and I always hated yoghurt. I'm 4lb down so far, so going well, a bit more relaxed this weekend, but trying to stick to low carb cheats, square of 85% choc, glass of prosecco and handful of nuts. Waist down an inch, but not ready to try dress on again yet!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/05/2017 10:27

Tilly I used to do sw too- once you get your head round eating full fat, I promise you won't look back!
I find the full fat yoghurt much less sour than fat free too.

TillyTheTiger · 15/05/2017 07:18

Weighed in this morning - 6lb lost! So now 11st 8lb Smile
I was googling before and after weight loss pictures yesterday for inspiration, I have a great 'before' picture of myself from last June when I weighed 15st a few days after giving birth, I'm looking forward to taking an 'after' photo when I hit my target weight.

cathyandclare · 15/05/2017 10:01

Well done Tilly! Half a pound on since yesterday, but still 3.5 off this week which is a quarter of the way there...
Feeling motivated.
B: Greek yoghurt and a few raspberries
L: Omelette and green salad
S: Chicken wrapped in bacon with asparagus

KOKO everyone :)

SansaClegane · 15/05/2017 21:47

Oh wow well done guys!

After a shit weekend I was 152lbs this morning, 3 more than Friday Sad Hoping most of that is bloat weight. Even so, it's 2lbs lighter than my fat weight last Monday.
Here's to a better week - my target for end of week is 147lbs!
