Calorie counting starts tomorrow (8th May). Lose a stone with me?

surprise · 07/05/2017 17:34

I managed to lose almost a stone due to illness over the new year, but have managed to put on 3 lbs since then. I really, really want to have lost a stone by the end of July (start of school holidays).

So I think that a stone in 11 weeks is definitely doable.

Anyone like to join me? I'm sticking to 1700 cals a day (I'm quite active), logging them on MyFitnessPal. I'm also aiming to do 3 lots of exercise per week (brisk walking/exercise DVD/swimming).

I'd quite like to weigh-in here too, to keep me motivated. So here goes: 11 stone 6lbs. Weigh-in again next Sunday?

Weirdly, I just finishing inputting my day's activities and calories for today (including the wine I am about to drink) and I have one spare calorie [big grin] left over! Hmmm. how shall I ingest it :-D It says if I were to eat like this daily I would lose 7 lbs in 5 weeks if I continued like that. Hmmm - I don't think so!!

TreTops · 07/05/2017 21:10

I'm in! I really need to shift 3 stone but a stone before the school holidays would be great as we have a wedding and it will save me having to buy a new outfit.

I'm stuck in the rut of starting mondays with good intentions then loosing the plot and doing the stupid thing of I've had some chocolate now I may as well have a takeaway and start again next week!

ThespianTendencies · 07/05/2017 21:16

TreTops - I think we are all like that! Onwards and downwards though eh (with the weight).

SansaClegane · 07/05/2017 21:21

I'm in! Actually looking forward to it as I've pigged out so much today, I'm feeling all bloated and ill Sad

5'7" and currently 10.11, would like to go down to at least 10st but ideally a bit under. Still don't fit in my pre-pregnancy 'slim' jeans and my baby is now 3!

MakingBaconPancakes · 07/05/2017 21:40

I'll join. Down to 9'11. Desperate to be 9st, or under by a few lbs.

For those wanting fitness dvd - 30 day shred was awesome. I was 11.4 10 weeks ago and have slowly dropped the pounds by no more than 1200 a day (apart from one or two cheat meals a week) and the shred. Just need this last st to melt away now.

I had a delicious Sunday Roast today followed by a big slice of chocolate cake. Nothing else though. Do you think that will impact things?

Is the weigh in tomorrow then?

good thread OP :) I'm happyto be in time for the start of one for once!!

Also going to start c25k to slim down and tone legs as they are still fat despite the weightloss.

MakingBaconPancakes · 07/05/2017 21:47

Surprise just re-read your OP I was in similar position as you 10 weeks ago, you can do it! You will probably lose more than a stone in 11 weeks :)

myrosehasleftme · 07/05/2017 21:50

Thanks Kathrynz123, I will look that up. I do have shred video somewhere that I will dig out...

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/05/2017 22:13

I second 30 day shred- in fact I was just coming on here to post about it. There are several versions available on YouTube so I just do them from there. The first few times really burn though!

Haven't done it for a long time but I'm going to start tomorrow. I need to tone up as well as lose lbs, I am so doughy at the moment, my stomach looks like bread!

Tartle · 07/05/2017 22:15

I'm in. I'll weigh tomorrow but it will be 12 something. Aiming for 11 by Glastonbury at the end of June. I have some vastly age inappropriate neon sequinned hot pants that i am desperate to wear but sadly cant do up at the moment!

I'm gonna do low carb, maybe with a bit of 5:2 as well. Do need to stay off the booze though!

cathyandclare · 07/05/2017 22:19

I'm in, doing Bootcamp in two weeks time but this will give me a great start. Have a vaiiiirrrrrrrry small dress to fit into on June 30th, need all the help I can get.

Marmelised · 07/05/2017 22:58

I lost 2 1/2 stone 2 years ago and about 10lb has crept back on. Some of that is good - I lost a bit too much - but would like to get back to around 10st 4. Currently about 10st 12 and 5'10" which is ok in itself but makes me between size in clothes which is a pain. Also I don't want the upward trend to continue.

RubySlippers77 · 07/05/2017 23:01

Quick message to say I'm in Smile thank you for the motivating thread OP!

Off to try to get some (pathetically small) amount of sleep now, though. Oh for the time when the DC sleep through…..

userofthiswebsite · 08/05/2017 06:41

OK so, as promised:

Starting weight: 10 stone 4.2lbs

SandysMam · 08/05/2017 06:51

I'm in...10lbs of baby weight here that needs to go. Hate feeling terrible about myself and really want my partner to see more than just a mum again (he is lovely, want to do it for him, not because of him before anyone suggests LTB Grin).

Plan to stop eating cake every time I meet people with the baby

Stop grazing on chocolate

Have proper breakfast rather than white toast, butter and jam

Eat some more fruit and veg

Power walk for 20 minutes a day

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/05/2017 06:51

Morning all

Day 1 weigh in: 12.2
I've maintained now for 2 weeks so that's why I need this thread!
Fasting today so it's 800 cals of high fat/low carb, gallons of water, and lots of keeping busy to keep my mind off food!

ThespianTendencies · 08/05/2017 07:18

Monday morning weigh in: 9 st 4lbs (I think my scales are broken Grin )

kally195 · 08/05/2017 07:31

I'm in. I started about ten days ago, when the scales told me that I'd hit 13st6.1lb. I'm 5'8", so that weight puts me scarily close to a BMI of obese. Talk about a lightbulb moment.

I'm sticking to 1300 cal per day, using MFP. Plan is to exercise four times a week, but a truly awful cold has put paid to that at the moment.

Weighed in on Friday and was down 4lb12 on that scary starting weight.

TheDonald · 08/05/2017 07:41

I'm in. Need to get weight under control. It's just creeping up and up since I moved to a full time desk job 2 years ago.

I'm 5'6 and this morning I weighed 11 st 10.

First target is to get to 11 2 which would put me back to a healthy bmi.

myrosehasleftme · 08/05/2017 08:27

Day 1 weigh in 10 13, it's not so bad considering how slack I've been but time to sort it out. I'm 5'5 (5' 4 1/2) so too short for that! Arla yoghurt and granola for breakfast. Then yoga and a walk. Mondays are always good it tends to go downhill after that...

surprise · 08/05/2017 08:40

Wow - loads of us now! Just weighed in and am a pound heavier than yesterday, so 11.7. My target us to lose 1-1.5 lbs per week.

Off to do my good old faithful Rosemary Conley Fatburner DVD. Best if luck everyone - we're on our way to skinniness Grin

OP posts:
cathyandclare · 08/05/2017 08:43

Batteries have gone on scales, don't think they could hack it any more!!!
I'm going to guesstimate I'm 9' 2 which means I have a stone to lose (short and small-bit looking stocky at the moment)

ThespianTendencies · 08/05/2017 08:46

Weetabix and skimmed for b'fast. Off to gym for HIIT session then dog walk 👊🏼👍🏻💪🏻

toastedcheesesandwich · 08/05/2017 08:51

I'm in! Perfect timing with this thread, I started MFP yesterday and aiming for 1200 calories/day. I'm 10 stone 4lbs as of this morning, was half a stone lighter this time last year! Aiming to lose a stone. MFP has already been an eye opener. Who knew a tablespoon of linseed on top of porridge would be 77 cals? Also realised I'll have to exercise every.single.day.

Tartle · 08/05/2017 08:53

12.7 this morning which is disappointing but not totally unexpected. Totm any day now though so hopefully it's a bit of water.

I think I need to be 11.4 to fit the shorts so 16lb in 6 weeks? Seems quite ambitious!

I'm kicking off with a fast day today and am already starving.

What exercise is everyone doing? I think I'll try to go to step later if I can get out of work on time.

AnotherYellowBelly · 08/05/2017 09:05

Just think if we stick to this , today's weight is the highest it will be! Every pound makes a difference to how tight your jeans are!
I'm off to the gym soon, going to attempt a hiit workout. Can anyone talk me through one? What machine do you use? I quite like a little run before strength workout but is it a faff to keep changing the speed?
