Morning. Sorry about my middle of the night balls up!

TV that's brill! Remember when you were trying for ages to get under that stone bracket. Now you're half way to the next one!

I've got snoring work day planned. Nails done at lunchtime and spin at 6. Boring!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/05/2017 09:09

What is wrong with me? A boring, not snoring

Morning all! Well done TV, you've made fab progress while I've been AWOL.

Run done this morning, still on 16:8 by the way, didn't fall off that wagon.

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 09:17

good effort there BOOP Grin

BeyondStrongAndStable · 17/05/2017 09:19

Well done TV - I missed your last paragraph. I seriously need to work on my reading!!

I'm 0.2lbs off reaching my November low, so hopefully I'll be joining you in lowest weight since joining soon :)

FreeNiki · 17/05/2017 09:44

Hot PT makes us do Turkish get ups every time.

Apparently the best thing to get you fit is lying down, standing up and lying down again. I dont do it with a weight that heavy though!

BeyondStrongAndStable · 17/05/2017 09:53

Well I'm great at lying down, so I'm halfway there! 😂

FreeNiki · 17/05/2017 10:45

Me too beyondstrong!

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 11:07

Kettle balls and a snoring work day Grin You're on fire BOOP!

Hairspray your pulled chicken things sounds epic! Do you have a recipe? I think I said upthread that we're trying to eat less meat, so I'm interested in getting into meat substitutes where they're bearable.

TV That's amazing! Remember when you first joined us and you were saying you didn't think 12.7 was achievable? You're almost blood there now! Have you managed to stay off the pudding?

I'm thinking of trying to bust my plateau with a three-day egg fast next week - has anyone done it?

Balonder · 17/05/2017 11:12

Haven't managed a Turkish get up yet Niki. They are a bit too hardcore for me! BOOP I have had no upper body strength for years since a shoulder injury but a good PT will teach you the proper techniques and you can build it up.

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 12:18

Quim Not really a recipe as such, because the whole thing took about 15 mins to chuck together bit this is what I did... ish...

Serves two
Linda McCartney pulled chicken 100g
One large spring onion chopped finely
One medium red pepper 1cm dice or smaller
1/2 a red chilli seeds removed chopped super fine
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp mild chilli powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp olive oil
Zest and juice of a lime

To serve
30 g cheese grated
4 big romaine lettuce leaves (to be the tacos)
salsa/guac/sour cream etc. Don't go mad though! I try to stick to 1 tbsp of each of the creamy ones and then maybe 2 of the salsa.

Oil and spices in a pan and toast
Chuck in spring onion and pepper and cook off
Add in the "chicken" and stir fry on medium as per packet instructions
Turn pan down to very low and add in lime juice and zest then stick the lid on while you set the table, make a bit of extra salad, grate cheese etc.

Then load the "Chicken" mix into a bowl and serve "family style" with all the mexican trimmings.
My tacos went something like 1/2 tbsp guac, 25g chicken, 1 tbsp salsa, 7g cheese 1/2 tbsp sour cream x2
I served it with a tomato and cucumber mint/lime salsa, and DP had some tortilla chips too - CURSE HIM!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 17/05/2017 12:19

Quim a three day egg fast?! Is that where you eat nothing but eggs for three days?

Poorpaws sorry to hear you are struggling. Even if you fall off the wagon, don't stop posting. You are much more likely to be able to climb back on again if you have support from everyone here.

Ooh pulled "chicken" lettuce tacos sound nice Hairspray, I might look into that.

Well done TV! That's an amazing loss!

I am having a fast day here. Cycled into work this morning, and I will cycle home again later so that's a good 80 minutes of decent exercise. Just having my hummus and veggies for lunch!

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 12:20

Eek that was an essay! Sorry

Quim Egg fast sounds like an easy route to constipation, but I might try it soon as I have been stuck in the higher echelons of the 10s for over a month now.

BeyondStrongAndStable · 17/05/2017 12:26

Apparently eggs don't cause constipation. "Egg-bound" was hijacked from its actual chicken-related meaning Grin

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 12:42

Oh I didn't realise the pulled chicken was pre-made! Where do you get it from?

That's about the size of it Spurious - it's usually used to kickstart ketosis but a couple of days ago I fell down a Dukan rabbit hole and was reading about the "Attack Phase" which sounds very similar, basically pure protein, and people get great losses on it. That made me remember an Egg Fast blog post I read (linked from one of the threads on here) and it got the cogs turning. I just thought since there's more info available on the egg fast I'd try that instead!

If I decide to go for it I'll report back Hairspray! Apparently on Dukan the constipation angle is solved with this oatbran stuff which isn't absorbed by your body but drags everything in your digestive system along with it. I'd normally be iffy about anything like that on a carb-free fast but since Dukan is very strict about carbs and recommends it, I assume it's OK.

Meanwhile, I'm on course for two mega golden days this week (yesterday shall not be mentioned) and one normal golden day as I have a big veg-tastic frittata planned for Thursday evening Smile

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 12:42

Beyond I've never even heard the expression "egg bound" I don't think!

TVHubbyClaire · 17/05/2017 12:54

quim still working on cutting out desserts fully during the week but about 50% success so far. Your point on saying no to seconds is my next target. I find I'm often hungry at night and then feel disappointed when I have twisted DW's arm to give me seconds...Blush.
I have also fallen into having toast in the morning so i want to get back to a more strict 16:8 because I really feel thats been the biggest and best change I've made

hairspray - your Mexican dinner sounds fab

Thank you all for nice comments about new weight today...very much appreciatedSmile

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 12:59

I'm glad 16:8 is working so well for you, goes to show it's just about finding something do-able. I don't like the idea of you going hungry though, is it real "hunger" in the evening or just the urge to peck? Same question in the morning, is the toast just a habit or do you get hungry without it? I wonder whether a hard-boiled egg might be better if you do need to eat in the morning; toast will leave you feeling hungrier by lunch time than protein.

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 13:04

I bought it from morrisons Quim should be able to get it at most supermarkets though

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 13:12

Thanks Hairspray - it isn't on Ocado so I wondered if it was a Holland & Barratt type thing. Do you happen to know if it freezes?

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 13:15

Yes it comes frozen, you just tip it into the pan from frozen :)

QuimReaper · 17/05/2017 13:23

Oooh perfect!

And it's "man-approved"? DH is a chicken fiend, he might think it's unnatural Grin (Although this less-meat thing came from him, so he can tell it to the marines.)

TVHubbyClaire · 17/05/2017 13:41

quim i think you are right about habits and urges. I am going to try a bit harder to eat one course at night and not go for seconds or desserts. I did manage a good few weeks of missing breakfast and I think the toast thing is a habit I'm falling back into. I must focus a bit harder and get back in good habits.

Trying for a further 7 days of no excessive eating or drinking and some exercise Halo..... hopefully new lows this time next week. The good days will be needed to offset a couple of social occasions coming up which would test the most dedicated slenderista.
I am bound to fall off the wagon for thoseBlush

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 17/05/2017 14:00

I can definitely imagine eating nothing but eggs would give you constipation.

Those tacos sound really good, especially for a fast day! Will have to look out for the pulled chicken stuff.

HairsprayBabe · 17/05/2017 14:02

DP eats what I give him and is grateful else he would live off catfood rustlers burgers and pot noodle, but was particularly pleased with this recipe!
