Friday morning - another pound shifted - 10 stone 1 now. Feeling delighted after a week of self-restraint, but know that I will do my usual and gain a pound or two over the weekend. Am out for cocktails/wine/dinner with girlfriends tomorrow night which won't be good for me. I have done the right thing and checked out the menu online beforehand so that I can order the best thing dietwise so we will see.
Giddyaunt 3 lbs is a fantastic loss, well done, when you think that is more than likely 3 lbs of pure fat as you are eating healthily and not crash dieting. Good for you!!!! Good luck for the next week.
Scarftown I am also 5'7 and I started dieting at 11 stone 8 when I weighed myself and had the shock of my life. I also thought, in my head, that I was about 9 and a half stone. I'm aiming for 9 stone 7. I have found that if I can avoid caffeine, keeps carbs to a minimum, eat three meals a day and only have low fat yoghurt or a small square of dark chocolate for treats then the weight comes off. Alcohol and caffeine are my enemies. Chicken, fish, salad, roasted vegetables and sweet potatoes are my friends! Also lots and lots of herbs, spices, crushed chilli flakes to make food really tasty - that seems to satisfy me more. I don't really like exercise but I do walk the dog every day for an hour or so.
Oh - and just being hungry sometimes and welcoming it as a good thing for an hour or so before lunch and an hour or so before dinner, because hopefully that's when my body is burning the fat! And not eating after about 7 p.m. at night, or as early as possible depending on the day and the family's various activities/commitments.
For weight loss to be sustainable, you can only expect to lose a pound or two a week so be kind to yourself and don't expect speedy results, especially after the first five or six pounds come off!
Good luck all for a healthy weekend. I am so glad to be sharing the journey with you all, it really helps.
