Small amount to lose but want support?

Just weighed in after a couple of short breaks. I was allowing myself to eat / drink what I wanted and knew it would result in a gain which is fine but just feel I need to get straight on to losing it.

I am 5ft 5, 43 years old and this morning weigh 10st 4.6lbs. I want to lost at least half a stone, ideally 9lbs.

I know there are obviously lots of other threads available but often people have longer term goals on them. I started a "less than a stone" thread before and it was quite busy so thought I'd give it a go again Smile

Giddyaunt18 · 13/05/2017 22:34

Wow cece that's an achievement, congratulations! Try the S diet, it's quite easy to follow and will get you there without losing any energy that you need with your busy life. nosdiet.com

Well I was out for dinner tonight avec famille and they chose a burger restaurant. Really not my thing but turned out to be great. I had my first glass of chilled white wine for the week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a chicken burger(breast with peri sauce) with sweet potato fries, but found I couldn't eat the bun! I'm not a big fan of bread with chips anyway. Had another glass of wine at home and just about to have a cup of camomile before bed. Hadn't had anything to eat apart from brunch at 11 of 2 poached eggs with mushrooms so I hope I got away with it!

Bumblebzz · 13/05/2017 22:37

Well done Giddy, that is a fantastic result, and amazing you achieved it by making those simple adjustments. Here's hoping the same works for me!
Had a good day and managed to include 2 glasses of prosecco without maxing out on MFP.
This evening I took myself off for a lovely long hot bath to physically remove myself from temptation (=the kitchen) and it actually worked! I used to read such advice and roll my eyes...

Made Bircher muesli this morning, delicious - I can't believe I've not made it before. I omitted juice (soaked oats in water) and any form of sweetener and it was plenty sweet enough with the apple and a few dried cranberries and raisins. And a dollop of natural yoghurt.

Giddyaunt18 · 14/05/2017 09:47

I know bumble it's so delicious. I make it with skimmed milk. It's worth grating an apple isn't it?

Giddyaunt18 · 14/05/2017 09:51

I just had a poached egg on half a sliced avocado plus wilted spinach and half a slice of granary bread. It was delish but my DH laughed and asked if I was going to post a pic of it on intsagram!! (I don't have instagram btw.) This is as close as I get to food boasting lol!

PaintingOwls · 14/05/2017 10:42

SO after a few days of plateau I have weighed in this morning at 55.8kg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot express how happy I am Grin

Yesterday I did my third Parkrun and I really noticed the difference, I am definitely getting fitter. I ran half of it without stopping to walk and I really pushed myself in the last half kilometre and my body did as it was told and I managed to shave 30 second off my best time.

I'm also having far fewer injuries and issues in the days after running, which is amazing.

Giddyaunt18 · 14/05/2017 11:53

Wow painting well done !! What loss is that? A plateau can be hard to push through but you did it. Grin

PaintingOwls · 14/05/2017 13:21

Thanks Giddy! I think the 5k did it tbh.

I was stuck on 66.2 so lost 0.4kg, I started at 69kg on this thread so a loss of 3.2kg so far in about a month. Onwards and upwards downwards!

Bumblebzz · 14/05/2017 14:27

Well done on the losses everyone.!
Planning to weigh myself tomorrow morning if I can remember to. It's early days for me (week 1) so even a tiny loss will keep me happy. I've felt hungry a lot this week so I'm hoping that means there's been at least the odd daily deficit.

@Giddy it is soooo worth grating an apple!! :D
I'm hoping to prepare some tonight to bring to work with me, was thinking of storing the grated apple separately with a squeeze of lemon juice to stop it browning, and 'assembling' it in the morning (i.e. mixing it all together..). Do you think that'll work or am I over complicating it and can I just make it up tonight ready to go?

Did 90min tough yoga class this am so between that and the Bircher muesli I am feeling very virtuous. And exhausted!

Bumblebzz · 14/05/2017 14:32

@Painting well done on your run time, 30secs reduction is fab! I'm the same starting weight as you so you're now my role model/target! If I could lose 3+kg in a month I'd be very very happy and motivated. Longer term aim is August summer holiday, (beachy sporty holiday), long way to go so I need as much motivation as possible.

FitbitAddict · 14/05/2017 15:00

Wow painting well done! I think you made a typo though as I've done the maths and it comes out at 65.8 not 55.8! Wishful thinking maybe? Glad the running is going well.

We just got back from a weekend away. Don't know what the damage is yet but I'm going for a run later and fasting tomorrow so hope there's still a loss overall when I weigh on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Giddyaunt18 · 14/05/2017 15:22

That's what I thought fitbit , over 10kg in a week!! Ha ha.

Bumble I'd make it the night before with the apple in it, if it's too much faff it will be a habit that won't last. See how it is, I should think you'll need less liquid as the apple will have time to soak into the oats overnight.

PaintingOwls · 14/05/2017 23:51

Bloody hell, I'll learn to proof-read one day. Of course it's 65.8kg §hides§

PaintingOwls · 14/05/2017 23:52

Also I was inspired to make Bircher for tomorrow's breakfast, I just made it and put in the fridge. One less thing to worry about in the morning!

Bumblebzz · 15/05/2017 06:41

67kg!
Very happy with that, even alllowibg for some of last week's (69kg) being hormonal/water retention.
7kg to go...

Buck3t · 15/05/2017 07:18

So I joined this group about 4 weeks ago and in that time I've gained weight and now back to where I started 9st 13 1/2lbs.

I know what the problem is. My diet. Normally I'd run 12 miles for the week, Ashtanga Yoga 3 or 4 times a week. Spin once a week dance fitness once a week. Last I did yoga and dance fitness. Managed to go up and down to that starting weight.

Buck3t · 15/05/2017 07:21

So I get it. I can't exercise and get away with eating the same it is doing nothing. So I have bought a ton of veg and salad to eat with my fish and lean meats, rather than rice with everything.

I too make my own Bircher and I made that early yesterday for today. I will keep you posted and let you know how this additional regime goes.

Bumblebzz · 15/05/2017 07:39

Good luck Buck3t, I've reluctantly had to come to the same conclusion, exercise alone isn't enough to reduce weight...

Bumblebzz · 15/05/2017 07:42

@Giddy followed your sensible advice and made Bircher up last night (ready to eat so no prep this morning). It wa perfect this morning. I added a tsp of lemon juice to the apple once I'd grated it but might not even need that.
