Congratulations Triangular! Hope you had a good day. The cake looks great. Did you say it was chocolate?

I am up a pound but that might be the takeaway and wine I had last night Blush I stuck my goals this week of waking up at a reasonable time though and going out for a walk every day. Dusting off the treadmill this week.

MillieMoodle · 19/03/2017 12:00

Congratulations Triangular! Hope you had an amazing day. The cake looks gorgeous.

Have had 2 rolls with pate for lunch, and a jam doughnut. Got a mountain of ironing to do this afternoon so hopefully that will burn some calories.

happypoobum · 19/03/2017 12:33

Congratulations triangular

I am off for a friends birthday lunch. Will try to be good.....

Flashinthepan · 19/03/2017 12:44

I'm 2 pounds down at 10 st 5. Only have a stone to lose so think half a stone by Easter might be more realistic. Would.like to be 10 st by Easter.

Wenchelda · 19/03/2017 20:06

Congratulations triangular - wow that cake looks amazing. Hope you had a fantastic day.

Well this morning's official weigh in surprisingly had me half a lb down to 9st 10.5. Wasn't expecting that at all but am glad I am still slowly going in the right direction. Hoping to get to 9st 7 by Easter which will hit my second target and put me at 1.5 stone off since we started.

Food today has been way too carb-heavy again;
B- scrambled egg on seeded toast; tea
L- flavoured latte; prawn mayo sandwich; salad
D- salmon; oven chips; 1 slice of bread for a chip butty Blush

Bibs2014 · 19/03/2017 21:03

What date is Easter?

Wenchelda · 19/03/2017 21:27

Easter Sunday is 16th April - 4 weeks today ShockShock

Notsoskinnyminny · 20/03/2017 06:54

Congratulations triangular hope you had an amazing day.

We'll done on the weight losses ladies, I've well and truly fallen off the wagon and feel bleurgh as a result. Start again today.

MillieMoodle · 20/03/2017 09:27

Well done wench that's fabulous!

I am still at 11st 5lbs which is only 9lbs off since we started but I can live with that for now. Hoping to get to 11st by Easter, that would be a stone gone then. My stomach is looking flatter in the last couple of days, and my jeans are a bit looser so I'm hoping that will give me the boost I need to keep going (I keep studying myself in the mirror Blush). We are all over our bug now (DS2 is still producing some suspect nappies but he's feeling a lot better) so our normal routine is back this week. Am cutting out the snacks as best I can all week - no crisps, choc or other junk if I can. I think over a week it will make a difference and hopefully that will spur me on!

Wenchelda · 21/03/2017 10:13

Morning all Smile I'm not even going to talk about yesterday's food and the enormous bag of sweet & salty popcorn I ate last night Blush

Today I've had tea and a banana before school run; just sitting down to hard boiled eggs, tomato and mushrooms, and a flavoured latte. Lunch will be small chicken salad and dinner is sausage, mash & peas. If (or should I say when) I want a snack, I'm going to try and stick to fruit or slices of ham, rather than junk.

I WILL get to 9st 7 by Easter Actually will need to be the week before Easter as we go away on the 10th and the food is all included Smile

MillieMoodle · 21/03/2017 20:22

Was 11st 4lbs this morning GrinHave been super good all day as it has spurred me on. Forgot about breakfast as I went into work all day. Had a banana mid-morning, lunch was a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with cucumber and lettuce, plus a Diet Coke. Satsuma for mid-afternoon snack. Dinner was chicken and veg pie, sweet potato fries, peas and sweetcorn. I resisted a Krispy Kreme donut at work, even though they had my favourite type! And bought a bag of malteasers but didn't eat them. Currently trying to resist a cream egg as well. I'll definitely have lost half a stone by tomorrow Halo

Bibs2014 · 21/03/2017 20:46

Wow well done Millie!

I've had 3 good days in a row Grin

Notsoskinnyminny · 22/03/2017 06:59

Well done millie there was cake and chocolates and shortbread in the staffroom - need I say more

Lapinlapin · 22/03/2017 10:32

Well done Flash, Millie and Wench on your losses.
I've lost a pound this week, so now 11st 6lbs. I'm a bit fed up that it's not more, but still, at least it's a step in the right direction.

I've not been getting enough sleep, and I've read some articles about the effect of sleep on weight loss recently. I've got a bit of a hectic week, but from this weekend onwards I'm going to make an effort to get to bed early and catch up on some sleep. If that helps weight loss it will be a real win-win!

Lapin what is the link between sleep and weight loss? Lack of sleep is something I really struggle with. I'm exhausted virtually every day thanks to dcs who wake up in the night and still get up at the crack of dawn. Some days I struggle to keep my eyes open around 2pm, and always tell myself I will go to bed early but never do as 9pm onwards is sometimes the only time I get to myself and I can't often settle before 10:30/11pm. A bad habit I need to break but can't seem to Confused

I was within my calorie allowance yesterday for what seems the first time in ages. Today I didn't have breakfast before the school run - only cup of tea - and am doing errands in town so just stopped for a coffee and brown toast in Costa.

Not sure about food for the rest of the day yet. I'm totally out of the exercise bike habit too. This return of cold weather just makes me want to hibernate!

Lapinlapin · 22/03/2017 11:22

Wench that is exactly the same as me! The dc think 6 is a lie in, and the little one is a rubbish sleeper and wakes in the night. That little bit of down time in the evening is so precious though!

I was just trying to work out what outlining the weight hard to lose. For years I could eat what I wanted and was still fairly slim. But, I used to get a lot more sleep and a lot more exercise.

I find now, the lack of sleep makes me eat more (esp junk), just for a much-needed up. I also don't get the same amount of time to exercise. There's probably an element of slowing metabolism as I get older too Sad

Typically, I now can't find the article I read (am sure it was on the BBC), but here's one saying the same sort of thing:

www.vox.com/science-and-health/2016/11/4/11751362/bad-sleep-loss-overeating-weight-gain

Sorry typos - 'what outlining' should be 'work out why I find'

Interesting article Lapin - thanks for sharing.

Yesterday I was just about within my calories allowance ... flavoured latte and 2 slices of brown toast for breakfast, 2 left over sausages with tomato for lunch and a penguin bar, salmon salad for dinner. We ate out last night and there was a mix up with our order which meant my meal didn't come with the rest of the family's and I had to wait quite a while. As compensation they offered us free desserts AND I SAID NO!! Halo There was even 2 of my favourites - caramel cheesecake and warm chocolate brownies (among other things) but I resisted!! No one was more shocked than me!

Today I waited until after the school run for breakfast and had a few leftover spaghetti hoops on seeded toast. I'm not sure waiting until after 9 to eat is actually beneficial to me - the theory is that eating breakfast later should mean I don't need much or any lunch but this never seems to happen. I'm grumpy & hungry in the morning and then still hungry as normal at lunchtime Confused. So now I've just had grilled bacon, boiled eggs, mushroom, tomato & avocado. Yum. DH is in charge of dinner tonight which will be chicken korma so will probably be over my cals today.

SmellTheGlove · 24/03/2017 08:05

lapin I haven't read the link but lack of sleep is meant to be linked to cortisol which is linked to weight gain especially around the middle which is the worst place to store fat. I'm not sure I'm sleep deprived enough for it to apply to me but DH has a lot of fat in that area although he isn't that overweight and he hardly sleeps at all and is quite stressed. My DS has always been an early riser but at age 8 has now settled at 6.30am which is doable as long as I'm in bed by 10ish! But he doesn't go to bed now til 8.30 so just enough time to cram in a bit of Netflix and dinner then I'm off to bed too!
Official weigh in today 11.8 and a half - down three quarters of a pound. But it's cake-gate this weekend with afternoon tea out for Mothers day and my DMs birthday on Sat. And I do love a bit of cake Cake

MillieMoodle · 25/03/2017 08:16

Have been good this week, although had a bit of a snack fest yesterday (creme egg, whole bag of kinder mini eggs) plus a KFC for dinner.

I bought some electronic kitchen scales from Amazon to try to get a handle on portion size, as I'm sure I eat too much per meal. Just measured out my cornflakes and I reckon I've been having about 4 times as many as I should be! So have just had the recommended 30g today - I'm not starving hungry any more but I'm definitely not full! It will take a while to get used to I suppose.

Was down to 11st 3lbs yesterday morning but after the chocolate and the KFC yesterday, I think I'll wait until tomorrow before I weigh myself again!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Flowers

SmellTheGlove · 25/03/2017 08:46

millie good plan - I made that mistake and have put on 2lbs overnight!!!!!!! But cake-gate started early yesterday with a baking frenzy (lots of icing 'tested'), 2 school cake sales and coffee and cake with a friend. And today is afternoon tea at a posh hotel so I have no hope! I'm not eating til then and won't have dinner. How many cals in afternoon tea do you reckon????!!!!

Bibs2014 · 25/03/2017 09:56

Hi everyone

Haven't been posting much as I have been doing another ivf cycle which has failed.

So back on the diet properly from today. Had 1 slice seeded bread, mashed avo, bacon medallions and an egg.

Feeling fat and frumpy - 2 failed cycles in 4 months can really take its toll Sad. Need to get back exercising too which will help.

SmellTheGlove · 25/03/2017 11:07

Sorry to hear that bibs - it's very hard to think about watching what you eat when life is stressful. The sun is out today and you have a really healthy breakfast so maybe go for a nice walk?

triangularchocolate · 25/03/2017 12:34

Sorry to hear your news Bibs Flowers

happypoobum · 25/03/2017 12:42

Really sorry Bibs Flowers
