12 weeks to shape up and slim down..anyone with me?

BeBe32 · 05/03/2017 15:46

So after another disastrous week on the diet front I am feeling pretty low. I hate the way I look, I feel so self conscious and generally feel pretty miserable. Despite this I just seem to be putting on more and more weight. I bought a new diet and exercise journal and it's a 12 week one so I was sitting here looking at the calendar and 12 weeks would basically take me to the start of the Summer and a few weeks before my birthday so I'm trying to convince myself that if I can stick to it once and for all I could make a big difference by then, ideally I'd like to lose 2 stone in that time.

So anyone else aiming to get slim for summer? What's the plan? Any tips, ideas, inspiration welcome...

I'm giving in and having a take away as a treat tonight, need something to look forward to Grin Been at the park all day and took a picnic for the kids and didn't eat any of it, but now I'm exhausted and starving x

Shitalopram · 15/03/2017 18:50

OP can you link to the journal you bought? 12 weeks is perfect for me!

73kittycat73 · 15/03/2017 23:48

Does anybody else find they have a 'danger time?' I'm ok during the day but when it comes to late evening I really crave food! Specially sweet food. Grin

Leavemealonepls · 16/03/2017 01:38

Yes me too.

littlebillie · 16/03/2017 06:33

I'm most vulnerable when I come in from work. Today I had a yogurt and it helped

busyboysmum · 16/03/2017 07:02

Yes. As soon as I get in from work if I'm not careful I eat the kitchen whilst making everyone's tea. I go on a total feeding frenzy 😆

GirlFromTheNorthCountry · 16/03/2017 07:17

Well, I've just weighed in and I've lost 3.5lb this week. Am really pleased with that as I don't feel like I have eaten 'diet' food all week. I even had a piece of cake in a cafe yesterday. I've just been more mindful of what I'm choosing as I've been recording everything.

I've managed at least 10,000 steps every day bar Sunday when we spent a long
Time in the car and at a play centre. I don't find 10,000 steps too difficult but I walk the kids to school each day which gives me a good start early in the morning. Also went to yoga last night for the first time in a few years and really enjoyed it.

Kitty My danger time is when I'm getting the tea ready (4.30-5.30 ish) I could eat anything at that time, which is daft as I know I don't have to wait long til tea! I've tried putting off breakfast until as late as I can, then having a later lunch around 3 helps. I appreciate this may not be practical if you are at work.

Keep up the good work guys. 😊

Sorry, I've only just seen this Shitalopram, this is the one I have www.foxmoon.co.uk/collections/diet-planners/products/d-12-week-time

Yet again this week has not gone to plan. Well done to all of you who are doing so well. I'm not sure what to do really. I think the reason I'm struggling is that things are very stressful in my life at the moment and I can't seem to focus on diet and exercise and my head is not in the right place. Unfortunately, I don't think these issues are going to be resolved any time soon and in the meantime I'm just putting on more and more weight....:(

I posted another thread about trying the 3 day military diet in the hopes that some quick weightloss might motivate me but not sure about that really!

Last night the stress got to me .. I wanted something sweet and had two Shock walnut whirls. However I didn't go on to eat everything in the cupboard so better than usual. Back to being good today.

HmmmHashtag · 16/03/2017 10:38

Alcohol is a big downfall for me.

And eating out.

And lunchtime rather than dinner time, I tend to just eat my dinner at night then that's it, but lunch time I end up buying loads of food, and I always seem to 'need' salt and vinegar crisps Blush

cheeseandcrackers77 · 16/03/2017 10:45

Sorry i've been MIA. Since Monday's little announcement up here i've been struggling and let things go to pot and i've been wallowing a bit.

I need to update MFP but thankfully I have a good memory so know exactly what i've eaten. I don't think i've been too bad although we had a chippy on Tuesday as DH was just as worried and upset as me.

Still go a few days to weigh in so going to try and turn it around. Can't wait to start my full time job it will keep me busy.

73kittycat73 · 16/03/2017 14:51

So I'm not the only one then. Sorry to hear you all have it too. It's hard to beat isn't it? I ended up going to bed last night so I wouldn't eat! lol
Sorry to hear a few of you are struggling more. I find the moment I tell myself 'I'm on a diet' I want to eat NOW and a lot. Instead I try and tell myself I can have that chocolate bar any time I want it, but not right now, maybe later. It doesn't always work! lol Sometimes it does though. Smile
Congrats on the loss GirlFromTheNorthCountry ! Star
Sorry to hear you're finding it so hard BeBe32. Maybe put dieting on the back burner for a week or two and just concentrate on eating a little less each time you fall?

littlebillie · 16/03/2017 17:42

I've been so good today but came in starving at 5pm and had 3 slices of Edam 298 kcal Confused I so bad at dieting

littlebillie · 16/03/2017 17:49

BeBe32 · 16/03/2017 19:42

Sorry to hear that a few people are struggling but it is also nice not to feel so alone! I'm so stressed at the moment but I'm desperate to get my head in the right place!

I'm feeling crappy and disheartened today, I've been stuck on 10st for 5 days and most days I haven't even eaten more than 500 cals. At first I thought it was rubbish that people said the depo jab can make it harder to lose weight, but now I believe it because every time I've done this diet before I've lost an average of a pound a day. I feel like I'm practically starving myself for nothing Sad

Orangecake123 · 17/03/2017 06:57

I've been struggling with my mental health at the moment, but I increased my calorie intake to 1500- which would still have me lose half a pound each week if I carried on exercising. I know it's slower, but I'm happy I've still lost something compared to if I was doing nothing.

Cross fit class today!

Orangecake123 · 17/03/2017 07:15

Baileys0clock- I'm sorry to hear things haven't gone the way you wanted. I'm not an expert and whilst very low calorie diets can be used for short term goals- you don't have to suffer whilst losing weight. I would suggest working out the daily calories you need to maintain your weight (TDEE).

scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

You might choose to be 20% under that number, but pick something that works best for you and fits into your lifestyle. You will get there- it doesn't matter if you take your time.

Hope you feel better soon x

Baileys0Clock · 17/03/2017 07:39

I know it's really low but I have been having full meals, like if I have chicken for tea I'll have a load of veg with it, and in the day some meat with loads of salad, beetroot, pickles etc, I feel like I'm eating enough food but it's just low calorie

littlebillie · 19/03/2017 08:59

I know it's water week one but I'm now 14.6 Wink

littlebillie · 19/03/2017 09:07

I've lost 6lbs Grin

Baileys0Clock · 19/03/2017 09:46

Well done! That's great Grin

cheeseandcrackers77 · 19/03/2017 13:42

Weigh in this morning. 10st 1lb the same as last week but really pleased as I had a bad week plus my period started today so generally weigh heavier then.

Anyone else on mirena coil? I put on 1/2 stone when it was inserted a year ago and can't seem to shift it 😢. I'm using it for heavy periods rather than contraception, otherwise I'd have it removed as my skin is awful too Sad
