12 weeks to shape up and slim down..anyone with me?

BeBe32 · 05/03/2017 15:46

So after another disastrous week on the diet front I am feeling pretty low. I hate the way I look, I feel so self conscious and generally feel pretty miserable. Despite this I just seem to be putting on more and more weight. I bought a new diet and exercise journal and it's a 12 week one so I was sitting here looking at the calendar and 12 weeks would basically take me to the start of the Summer and a few weeks before my birthday so I'm trying to convince myself that if I can stick to it once and for all I could make a big difference by then, ideally I'd like to lose 2 stone in that time.

So anyone else aiming to get slim for summer? What's the plan? Any tips, ideas, inspiration welcome...

Can I join you? I'm 5'7 and 13 stone ☹️ I want to be 10 (or at least 10 something!) by the summer! Lost weight with sw a few years ago but can't face rejoining so I'm going to do it at home. I'm good all day and eat rubbish in the evening... good luck everyone!!

LiveLifeWithPassion · 09/03/2017 10:14

Ive just been for a walk/run. Well more walking than running but I still managed to push myself a bit.
I'm Havung a coffee, will do some chores and have breakfast at 12.
I find this really suits me as I get things done early in the day and it puts me in a more positive frame of mind.
Hope everyone else has a good day.

notanothernamechangebabes · 09/03/2017 19:06

How has everyone's day been so far??

I took DS to his first baby play group... was v good and only had one hobnob ... even though the biscuit tin was passed round... and round... and round!

We've been out all day -playgroup, shopping, walk in the park- so not had time to snack.

I do worry a bit that I might go too far and not enough for breastfeeding- today - not a great day for fruit and veg, sadly I've had...

Breakfast - hurried an eat natural protein bar and a banana on my way to the playgroup
Snack- the hobnob!!
Lunch- gluten free 3 bean wrap from m&s, small box of mango
Snack- small gluten free brown roll with peanut butter
Dinner will be beef goulash with extra veg in, and flower sprouts and leeks

Is this enough to be bfing and running round all day? I don't feel v hungry, but was known to skirt the fringes of eating disorders in my younger years, so hunger doesn't really "register" for me always (NB- I'm well now- have been for a couple of years.)

GirlFromTheNorthCountry · 09/03/2017 21:09

Finally got round to weighing myself. Am 14.7. Bought myself a Fitbit today so am planning on pushing myself to 10,000 steps a day, plus doing some proper exercise (I mean something like an exercise class) at least a couple of times a week. Also finally got round to finding a yoga group so will see how that goes. Am feeling positive about it all and am setting my first goal on the Fitbit to lose a stone. Would ultimately like to be in the healthy bmi range.

Am also planning on trying to put off eating breakfast until as late as possible as I then have less time to do as much damage food wise.

sadallthetime · 10/03/2017 08:13

Loved all the updates . Girl I have one and it eggs me on . Yesterday I did 10,800 but that included 45 min workout . It's hard to get to 10000.
I don't feel well today . Have a cough and sore throats and feel a bit ughhh . My daughter said to to take day off exercise and watch a movie with her after school . I'll be good food wise though .

Everyone is doing well .

sadallthetime · 10/03/2017 08:14

Notandno make sure you eat enough . Hope you enjoyed group

cheeseandcrackers77 · 10/03/2017 08:46

Yesterday was an ok day. Didn't manage 10k steps but did 6775 (3 X more than testerday). Food wise I ate 1076 calories and burned 143 walking the dog.

Today I doubt I will reach 10k as apart from a dog walk i'm not planning on going out. I find non working days are harder to reach 10k but in the next few weeks I am going full time so it will be easier then.

Right off to have a shower then some breakfast. Think I will have melon today.

Orangecake123 · 10/03/2017 10:52

Today: back from a 2 hour walk. ;)

Breakfast: a smoothie with protein powder, milk, oats, a banana, and four strawberries.

Trying to not eat just wasn't working for me and I was just hungry. I've decided on just eating every couple of hours.

BaileysOClock · 10/03/2017 11:19

Can I join you? Smile
I'm 5ft 1 and 10st 4 and want to lose about a stone and a half.
A couple of years ago I was 14st and did a 500 calorie a day diet and lost 6 and half stone in a year, then I got scared of putting the weight back on and became bulimic. I've been battling it for years between 2 pregnancies and was slim up until a year ago when I started the depo provera birth control jab, I've been putting weight on no matter how hard I try. My jab runs out at the end of this month and I'm not having it again so hope that helps. I'm trying to recover from bulimia and this is my 5th day of eating healthy, I can't slip up and have even a biscuit or something because then I'll feel guilty and just binge and ruin it all, then end up making myself sick again and I really don't want to get back in to that horrible habit, I want to be healthy. It's so hard with 4 kids in the house who have loads of treats and delicious food Blush
So far I'm doing really well and lost 5lb, I weigh every day which I know I shouldn't really, but I'd put a pound on when I weighed this morning which I'm really disappointed and baffled about cos I thought I did really well yesterday .. I had
Breakfast - 2 weetabix with skimmed milk
Dinner - bowl of corned beef stew
Tea - mixed vegetables and salad all chopped up and fried in the teeniest bit of oil

Didn't have any snacks or sugary drinks etc, I had one low cal hot chocolate before bed which was 39 cals so I don't know why I put a lb on, usually I'd give up and think "well it's not working anyway so may as well eat nice things" but I'm determined to stick to it this time

Baileys0Clock · 10/03/2017 11:27

I've even given up my beloved Baileys Sad Heartbreaking

Lucysdiamonds · 10/03/2017 12:29

Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm determined to make an effort now ...

I'm going to eat low carb as it's the only way I've lost a lot of weight in the past. If I allow myself a little bread etc I don't know where to stop, so best I cut it out altogether.

I weighed myself yesterday morning and I weigh 12 stone 11.5 . Anything I can lose will be a bonus!

RedMetamorphosis · 10/03/2017 13:09

Can I join for Monday? Will be moving into a new place so will have more control over food, exercise etc.

I'm 5ft 9, currently 11st 2 and aiming for about 10st - 10st 4. I have a fairly small build so this is where I'm most comfortable. I'm going to a combination of Fitness Blender, Kayla Itsines and yoga Youtube videos.

I was 12st 6 at the start of last year and have lost the weight slowly and sustainably through calorie counting and some exercise. Now it's time to up the exercise to improve my shape and fitness.

Nottsangel2015 · 10/03/2017 19:26

Hi Lucy I'm low carbing, did Tuesday Wednesday and yesterday under 20g and shall keep to below 50 tomorrow until Tuesday again when I shall do 3 days under 20 again. Given up today though as weve had a chippy tea although I did really well and swapped my fish for a fish cake and didn't fill my plate with chips so feel good about that, do have a bounty planned for tonight when kids are in bed but did walk home from work this afternoon and it's a 45 min walk so that counts for something right? Lol
Just hope my bounty doesn't trigger a binge :-/
Can see we are all having good and bad days but as long as the good outweigh the bad it's an improvement! Good luck over the weekend! It's the hardest time for me! X

cheeseandcrackers77 · 10/03/2017 20:29

Baileys0clock sounds like you have had a tough time of it Flowers

Just under 6k on the pedometer. I did walk the dog for about 40mins but it was just too wet and missed able to continue.

Food wise i've swapped my bread for toast to the Warburton milk loaf 4G calories a slice. They are Tony but they are better than taking a full slice or 2.

So toast for breakfast
2 rashers of bacon and 1 egg scrambled.
1 satsuma
Chicken hot pot for dinner
But 2 packets of crisps today Shock
90kcal and 86 kcal.

All the above works out at 839 calories so far for today.

Lucysdiamonds · 10/03/2017 20:33

Hi Notts, glad to find someone else lowcarbing. Today I've had 35g carbs. The only veg I had in were carrots and swede unfortunately which are quite high in carbs.

yikesanotherbooboo · 10/03/2017 22:05

Can I join?
I started a week ago with low calories low carbs but as yet no hard and fast rules. I have never really dieted except for a 5:2 phase to support my DH a couple of years ago.
For most of my adult life I have been a normal weight but half a stone heavier than I would have liked. Out of nowhere ( menopause and extraordinary stress) I am overweight 11 st 12 a week ago rather than my 'normal 9 st 10 lb or so. I have no scales but can weigh sporadically at work.

Baileys0Clock · 11/03/2017 06:54

2lb lighter today than yesterday so finally getting somewhere 😆
Had raspberry wheats for breakfast with skimmed milk.
Dinner - mixed veg/peppers and chicken breast.
Tea fish cake with broccoli and carrots.

Didn't have any snacks but had a 39 cal hot chocolate again, need to find some low or zero calorie drinks other than water, not fussed on fizzy drinks so I drink tea all day (no sugar, skimmed milk)

I really should start fitting in some exercise but having 4 kids to run around after means I'm active all day anyway, and don't have much time on my hands

How's everyone else doing? Grin

Baileys0Clock · 11/03/2017 07:07

Oh, and I have a kids party to go to today so that's definitely gonna test me ! Shock

Nottsangel2015 · 11/03/2017 08:13

Well done on the weight loss baileys! It encourages you on doesn't it!

Had my takeaway meal and chocolate last night, limited my chips so quite pleased wth myself!

Back on it today though!

Lucy it's hard finding veg that's low carb isn't it! My youngest dd loves home made soup and I'm making some today it's only veg and lentils and less than 200 Calories a bowl I make a batch at the weekend for in the week just logged it in my fitness pal and it's 35g of carbs so won't be having a portion :-(

Going to do 30 mins on the exercise bike today plus found this really good tabata routine on you tube on Wednesday, whilst doing it it was fun but didn't think it was doing much it's only 4mins long and your meant to do 4 x but I only managed twice as dd kept trying to join in and hindering me lol but all day Thursday I was aching so must of done something! May have a go at that in a minute before the other kids get up!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Baileys0Clock · 11/03/2017 16:46

Definitely encourages Notts! Went to kids party and didn't eat a thing, so proud of myself cos I thought I'd lost all my willpower. I took an apple in my bag incase I was starving but I wasn't even tempted, if I hadn't lost anything though I probably would have thought bugger it and filled my face!
Soup sounds a good idea, I'm thinking of different things to eat so that I'm not bored of the same things every day x

BeBe32 · 11/03/2017 20:08

Hi everyone!

Really sorry for disappearing! Had an awful week, really stressful time at work combined with illness, family member going into hospital and a close friend's father passing away unexpectedly, so everything else sort of went out the window.

Anyway, lovely to see everyone here - you all sound like you're doing really well, well done! Given the rubbish week I had I wasn't expecting to lose anything but weighed myself today and have lost 2lbs so at least that's something.

I'm now planning my meals for the rest of the week. I'm really struggling to motivate myself at the moment but really need to do this so hope I can stick with it.

Glad to see you back BeBe32 bit sorry to hear yo have had a tough week but we'll done on the weight loss.

So Sunday morning is my weigh on. No idea how i'be done.

I have just about managed to stay in the 1200 calorie a day limit.

I haven't managed 10k a day but I will work on this but Sunday is my take it easy day so doubt much progress will be made tomorrow.

Right off to bed for the big weigh in tomorrow.

kitkat321 · 12/03/2017 00:20

Can I join? I need to kick start it again!

I was almost 12st towards the middle of last year - did the forever 9, lost 10lbs and kept it off until Christmas.

Then I over indulged at Christmas - decided not to start back on the diet/healthy eating in the new year because I had an all inclusive holiday in early Feb so why bother - went on holiday and put more weight on.

I'm not 11st 6 - want to get down to 11st at least - ideally lower but I'm being realistic - I'm not naturally slender - I was when I was younger but the women in my family all get pretty heavy as they get holder so I don't want to set a target that I'll hit and then not maintain.

So as of Monday ( or maybe even tomorrow!) I'm going to try and eat better - not following a specific diet just cutting out bread, white pasta, chocolate, crisps etc.

Want to ramp up the exercise too but I've recently injured my back so physio has barred me from anythign other than gentle stretches, walking or swimming (I do not want anyone to see me in a swimming costume right now).

Fingers crossed I can get in better shape for summer!!

cheeseandcrackers77 · 12/03/2017 11:03

So first weigh in today.

Last Sunday 5th March 10st 4lbs
Sunday 12th March 10st 1lb Smile

Happy with this.

Baileys0Clock · 12/03/2017 11:45

Well done cheese Grin keep up the good work!
