Hi. Is my timing right for anyone else being ready to start losing weight? For me, the title says it all.

This time I am armed with a fitbit (which I am learning to operate), have paid membership for the local pool, have DH on side, have the Lent excuse ready at work and would love some vipers with which to go through this process.

Is there anyone ready to go, so we can comfort and cajole each other?

No kick from me, it's tough - that's why we're all here.

Weigh in day for me and down 4lb which I'm over the moon about as I'm on 1800 calories so eating very well - enchiladas and wine Saturday, steak pie yesterday Smile

Really motivated today, there's a post on the fb page on the group I'm following from someone who's been following the plan for 18 months and has gone from 26st to 10st Shock She looks incredible, slim and toned. That's what I need on a Monday morning to Lee focused.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 13/03/2017 07:56

*be focused!

ladylambkin · 13/03/2017 09:23

Well done Ignatio! Wouldn't it be fantastic to lose 3lbs every week Smile had a meal out last night I was really tempted to have dessert but just had a cup of tea instead. I was wearing a dress that I couldn't fit into when I got it last year. It's the little things that keep me motivated.

Have lentil soup in the slow cooker, I find that making soup really helps to keep the calories down whilst being filling

ladylambkin · 13/03/2017 09:24

Wow well done Englishgirl for some reason I didn't see your post

EnglishGirlApproximately · 13/03/2017 10:47

Thanks lady. I love making soup too, been thinking about getting a soup maker but not sure it'll be much easier than on the hob tbh,I'm just a sucker for a gadget!

Thanks English girl . I am not at all techy, and just wanted to know how it works. In blood sugar diet book, it says " you scan all your food in" , how? What does that mean?

Have had a good day, but could have had less supper. All the right stuff, just to much of it.....

EnglishGirlApproximately · 14/03/2017 09:21

ohyes when you log things on mfp you can either type in the food you want to log, or scan the barcode (there's a barcode icon at the top left). Once you've been using it a whole it'll remember frequent foods so it gets easier. It's worth spending a bit of time inputting your own recipes for things that you eat often then you can just select that recipe rather than the individual ingredients.
The foods with green ticks at the side have been verified so likely to be accurate- just make sure you select the right weights. Also keep an eye on cooked weight vs raw weight.

I'm still doing ok, this plan suits me well I think as it's not restrictive so easier to keep going than others I've done

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/03/2017 09:27

Does anyone do the 16:8 ? I am thinking it could work for me as I hopefully can't do too much damage in 8 hours Grin And also I like the idea of not having to even think about what I am going to eat for a chunk of the day.

I smoked 20 a day for decades and found that easier to knock on the head than controlling my food intake .

StandAndBeCounted · 14/03/2017 12:49

Well done English that's amazing!! Is mfp an app then? X

StandAndBeCounted · 14/03/2017 12:51

Ohhhh ok I just got it sorry. My Fitness Pal. Doh!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 14/03/2017 13:08

Lol stand, I'm getting into the lingo of all this getting fit stuff!

AteRiri · 14/03/2017 20:52

This is my goal exactly! Joining :)

EnglishGirlApproximately · 14/03/2017 21:27

Welcome! Is there a plan you're following or diy?

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/03/2017 21:31

A good day for me today thankfully.

I hope everyone is doing ok ?

stitchglitched · 15/03/2017 09:12

Hi hope everyone is doing well. I scrapped the vlcd. The products tasted awful and I was binging by mid afternoon. I've just stopped snacking, fizzy drinks, and tried to make healthy choices. No calorie counting and I've lost 3lb since the weekend! 12st 8. 3 stone to go!

AteRiri · 15/03/2017 09:37

Hi EnglishGirl!

I have been doing low carb but it's not working anymore :(

I am thinking of following something like Cohen diet. Anyone tried this here?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/03/2017 11:59

stitch are you counting calories at all or just eating better generally?

ate I've never heard of it tbh. I'm following Richie Howie and just tracking macros and exercise. I weighed this morning and I've lost a couple more pounds, and eating well so I'm sticking with it.

Going for a fee day at a gym next week to, see what I think Shock

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/03/2017 13:28

englishgirl Have you signed up with Richie ? I have joined his Facebook group but haven't made the leap to joining properly.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/03/2017 14:38

Yes, joined a couple of weeks ago, spent a week reading then started properly. It's brilliant, really supportive and people from super fit athletes to people at 20+st all giving each other advice and encouragement. For £3.50 it's got to be worth a try!

Howlongtillbedtime · 15/03/2017 15:34

Thank you , i have no idea what a macro is really but I am tempted to give it a go . It certainly looks like they get good results.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/03/2017 16:19

It's just your split between carbs/protein/fat - then when you've got that you go into a bit more detail with fibre and sugar. I've posted my stats today and one of the team have told me I should be on 2000 calories Shock

I feel like I've got to forget everything I know about dieting but they get such amazing results I'm going to put my faith in their advice and see what happens.

StandAndBeCounted · 16/03/2017 09:38

Well I'm gutted. I couldn't do the second week of my high fat diet due to funds, but I've still been really good all week. Been well underneath my calories every day. I find a lot of days I don't get time for Davina, so I bought a double buggy and have started walking to school again. Its 1.7 miles away so 3.4 both ways and twice a day so 6.8 miles a day I've walked all week. Not lost a single pound Sad

EnglishGirlApproximately · 16/03/2017 11:39

Don't get disheartened stand, you'll get there. There's a great video on the plan I'm following which advocates weighing daily as your weight will fluctuate throughout the week, so if you happen to weigh yourself on a day you fluctuate up you can get down. Try weighing again tomorrow Smile
