Amazing work Squiffy Star for you!

11.5 this morning, so I am -2lbs for the month already! 3 lbs from "healthy" it is so close now!

Nice NSV for me today, I am in a dress I last wore in my 2nd year of university, and it fits me better now than it ever did then!

Going out for lunch with work today as someone in the team is leaving, hoping there is something low carb on the menu, probably won't be having dinner if lunch is big.

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 08:44

A PB here on the running, 7.25k in 65 mins. Last time it was 6.99k. No longer a tortoise, I'm now a Tortoise with a Sense of Urgency.

HairsprayBabe · 03/03/2017 09:03

That really made me chuckle Arsey Grin

Millie04 · 03/03/2017 09:03

Good work Arsey. I can only cope with miles but I think your run equates to 5 miles which is good going! I managed to get 9 miles ran this week, two 4.5 mile runs. Felt stronger on the second run which is always nice. A gain of 0.6 lbs for me this week so am ditching the 16:8 fast approach, going away for weekend and enjoying all my food, then will get back on it on Monday. I might try the 5:2 diet but think I need a book on it. I know that the approach is 500 cals on 2 days a week. It would be good for me to try it on non exercise days I think..Hmm

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 09:09

Only 4 and a half Millie, but I'm happy to call it 5. Smile

Naughtysausage · 03/03/2017 09:10

Ooooh well done all!
Squiffy you must be delighted!Hairspray what's it like (said dress) imagining it must be lovely if you kept it when it didn't fit?
Arsey shit news about the work, excellent news on the urgent tortoise.

People - bloody hell, 9 weeks in I think I was still sobbing into a box of twirls. Be really kind to yourself.

Hello other new people!

Down another lb this morning, possibly because I'm having to fast before my blood test this morning. Am thinking big brave girl thoughts. Send more this way.

HairsprayBabe · 03/03/2017 09:36

Dress looks like this but mustard yellow and navy.

Plus! I went shopping for a dress for the wedding I am going to next weekend, took in basically an entire rail of size 14's and had to send them all back as were huge on me!

Was slipping into size 12's like a dream, I was very Shock still did not buy a dress though!

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 09:45

Good luck sausage. And yes People, at 9 weeks I was thinking my life was over, so you're doing marvellously!

Hairspray, I hope you asked the changing room assistant IN A REALLY LOUD VOICE to get you some options in a size 12 "because these 14s are MASSIVE". Grin

HairsprayBabe · 03/03/2017 09:57

It was very weird I didnt even realise they were too big I just thought they looked crap!

The changing room assistant had to convince me to try the smaller sized I just couldn't believe it!

Usermuser · 03/03/2017 10:06

Well done on the losses, everyone. And especially all the exercise. I'd love to be able to run 4 or 5 miles without having a heart attack. Hell, I'd settle for quarter of a mile.
I'm also jealous of the holidays and Hairspray's birthday presents and the NSVs! I seriously have no indication that any weight has come off apart from the scales.
Hasn't been a great two weeks. PMS made me want to eat my weight in chocolate and chips. Pup got attacked by another dog so I've had several trips to the vets for antibiotics etc. and strongly-worded conversations with daycare where it happened and who initially denied anything had happened before finally admitting it. And a friend's mum died.
Exercise plan has gone out of the window, but weighed myself yesterday and had lost another 4 lbs in two weeks, so that means 18 lbs in just over 6 weeks. Another 4 and I'll be back in the 9 stone bracket.

FeckinCrutches · 03/03/2017 10:15

Oh dear. In the plus side, I only ate half.

User I used the couch to 5k app 2 years ago. Prior to that I was convinced that I couldn't run coz every time I ran only a short distance my ankles felt like they were going to give way. Buy some trainers and upload the app. I don't run for weight loss but coz I'm sat down in my job all day and it gives me some head space and fresh air twice a week normally. The lighter evenings are v welcome and definitely make it easier! It doesn't matter how fast you go or how far but it's important to get out of breath so you know your body is working a bit harder.

lastqueenofscotland · 03/03/2017 10:25

Meal planned, will be using up left overs tonight/tomorrow
Sunday: cashew, spinach and canellini bean stew
Monday: paneer and green veg curry
Tuesday: primavera soup
Wednesday: garlic, kale and cashew fried rice
Thursday: veggie sausage pasta bake.

Working on portions mainly still!

HairsprayBabe · 03/03/2017 10:26

Looks fine to me - Can't see any carbs!
That was basically my dinner last night but swap the mushroom for asparagus, and nix the bacon and sausages! Just go super light for the rest of the day, salad soup etc.

Tomato - 43 cals
Mushroom - 20 cals
Bacon - 80 cals
Sausages - 150 (brand dependant)
Beans - (80g portion) 124 cals (brand dependant)
Egg - 78 cals

495 cals total so really not too bad at all Crutches plus 3 of your five a day!

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 10:37

Yes user the couch to 5k app is brilliant. I used the BBC one, with Sanjeev Kohil as the coach, I was a bit in love with him by the end.

The key is to run much slower than you think you should. Literally just trot along. Your breathing rate should be raised but you shouldn't be about to collapse or vomit! I'm a total running convert, and I'm 14 stone.

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 10:37

Also make sure you're doing little light steps, no big bounding ones.

Usermuser · 03/03/2017 10:45

Thanks, Millie and Arsey. I've just downloaded an app for it. It's silly but I'm a bit embarrassed that people will see me out of breath and struggling and judge me! Also, I already walk the dog for a couple of hrs a day, so trying to figure out if one of those walks can become a run with him instead. Trying to figure out a no-traffic route where he can go offlead as when I run with him on the lead he gets crazily overexcited, starts to gallop and has been known to pull me over. Hmm, legistics...

FeckinCrutches · 03/03/2017 10:46

Ha! I just logged it as 475 cals Hairspray good calorie counting skillz Grin

HairsprayBabe · 03/03/2017 10:54

Grin Crutches That is a depressing indictment of my life at the mo!

Millie04 · 03/03/2017 10:54

User it's good to get off road. I mostly pavement run now in my local town as can't stand negotiating cars who don't consider that anyone else has any rights to be on the road! I have a friend who runs with her dog. Perhaps get the trainers and try a bit of speed walking to ease yourself and dog into things?
I pass all sizes and ages running. It's definitely growing in popularity, or I might just be noticing it more now. I look red faced and no idea what my running style looks like but I don't care. The payoff is the warm shower after and the lovely glow. Skin always looks great after run and shower combo.

ArseyTussle · 03/03/2017 11:11

I pass all ages and types of runner too, and we always nod to each other in mutual understanding. My thoughts are that if anyone is going to judge you for not (yet) being super fit and skinny, then the chances are they're overweight themselves and are wishing they could drum up the balls to run.

I also remind myself that unless they live in my street they've no idea how far I've run, I might look red and knackered because I've already done 10 miles. Grin

QuimReaper · 03/03/2017 16:20

It's never occurred to me to run along the road! I used to use the same logic though Arsey Grin

QuimReaper · 03/03/2017 16:21

And WAHEEEEEY to all the losers, what a fantastic milestone Squiff!

Hairspray that dress is STUNNING. Congrats on being a Confirmed Size 12 too, that's an amazing feeling!

FreeNiki · 03/03/2017 16:22

I really hate my boobs.

I guess nothing but plastic surgery will change that.

Did a circuits class today....he nearly killed us all.

Peopleplease · 03/03/2017 17:49

Thanks for the welcome!

DD is actually DD2, DD1 is 3.5 so I knew what to expect this time. Plus DD2 doesn't have reflux so actually sleeps and lets me put her down occasionally!
